i've tried but i just can't take it [CLOSED]

Who: Yu Narukami [personal profile] covenantal, Yosuke Hanamura [personal profile] youraffection, & Rise Kujikawa [personal profile] pseudonyms
When: After this, on the same day. Pre-event 32.
Where: The Pinesona apartment.
What: Yu's found out some pretty shocking news and isn't taking it well. Rise and Yosuke are home when he turns up, and A Talk ensues.
Rating/Warning: Talk of death. Otherwise, M for Mad And Angry.

[ Eventually, Yu found he needed to just... go.

It wasn't Naoto's fault. None of this was. But with the reality of what he knew crashing down around him, he'd needed to leave. All he really wanted was to go breathe somewhere quiet and try and get his head in order.

But on leaving the Sanctuary, he finds he feels... lost.

How do you deal with finding out that the person you have - had? have? - feelings for is dead?

He can understand now why Minato always held back from him. Played keep-away. Rarely, if ever, let on how he really felt and if he was actually even happy. He must have been feeling uncertain how to proceed. What to even do. And here Yu was, asking him out, taking his hand, not-exactly kissing him...

What really galls him is that Minato never explained his reticence. Never even tried to explain. Even if he didn't admit to dying, he could have expressed he had doubts or reasons for hesitating. Yu would have understood. But instead Minato lied by omission, for months, and it's clear to Yu that he was never going to say anything at all if he could get away with it.

And that hurts.

Yu shakes his head and strides away from the Sanctuary, a hand pressed to his left shoulder as he goes, fighting down the feeling of raw betrayal in his gut.

He's hardly even paying attention to what he's doing or where he's going. It almost surprises him to end up in front of his apartment door. Well, at least I can gather a few things and head back out. Maybe I'll go sit by one of the shrines. They're usually peaceful.

Of course, when he opens his door, he finds Rise and Yosuke sitting in the living room, chatting. The sight draws him up short. Yu just stands there, staring at them, pale and blank-faced, one hand curling into a fist at his side. Then he looks away, his mouth pressing into a thin line as he moves past them into the kitchen. ]
