THE TOWER
[ As per the mod post:

All groups will find that the tower is deserted, and all technology is shut off. Through some fiddling, some of CERES’ databases can be accessed, but only in the most basic of safe modes. Hacking will just get everything to shut off again, as it takes too much power from whatever emergency power source allows the systems to turn on.

There are no dangers, but even so, the characters won’t have long in the tower before their code starts to warp strangely. If they stay too long, they will be glitched right out of existence -- and then right outside of the tower. They will find that for the next three ic days, all food tastes burnt and sleeping is extremely unsatisfying, to the point that they don’t even feel like they need it, before they go back to normal. Characters will have a maximum of 3 IC hours in the tower before that point.

Feel free to thread out characters meeting up before the exploration, or bumping into each other in the rather big tower, amongst other shenanigans! ]


THE SANCTUARY
[ there isn't much of a preparation for this, but there will be a text blast alerting everybody to go to the sanctuary if they so please to discuss what people have found in the tower.

as usual, a variety of flavours of pizza is being served. there may not be pizza for everybody however, as athena is rather broke. (sweats) remember to leave your cerevices in the basket by the entrance! ]

[Rei doesn't know the man, and honestly right now she only half notices him. The contracts though...they have her full attention. She'd imagined it was real of course, those visions she'd had throughout her time here.

Her lip curls upwards into an ugly sneer, and her voice comes out in a low, almost growl.]

They'll pay for this.

You plan to fight them?

[ those sound like fighting words, if zer0's ever heard any. but the question of whether or not they'll be any help in a fight still exists. ]

When the time is right, yes.

[She's used to people doubting her, when she's like this. It's normal enough.]

I'm not going to rush in like a fool, though. I know better than that. An opportunity will come, then I'll take it.

You make opportunities in such a crisis.

[ that's zer0's plan, if they can find more information. to push in and strike while the tower seems vulnerable. ]

Precisely. But, as we've seen? We're still woefully uninformed. Maybe someone else found something useful, but my group largely came up empty. Mostly just confirmation of things we'd already been assuming, and no sign of Mosley.

[Rei lets out a breath and focuses more on the stranger.]

I'm Rei, by the way.

Zero.

[ they dip their head slightly in acknowledgment. ]

Would you fight them?

[faithfulflame]

Absolutely. Why wouldn't I? They've tormented us, took out contracts to attack our world, and have generally treated us as beneath their notice while lying to us.

[Who wouldn't fight people like that?]

But now they seem to be dissolving as time goes on. Our time to strike.

[ zer0 wonders of her abilities, too. but those can be demonstrated rather than described. ]

It'll come soon. I'm sure of that much. They're waiting on something, clearly. I have this feeling, like a lot of things are going to change in the near future, and I don't just mean the robots.

[ collecting allies seems vital at the moment. they couldn't stay in the tower for long enough before. ]
