open; someone's having a rough week

Who: Flynn Scifo and you!
When: ic 9/15-9/20
Where: Various spots around town
What: What do you get when you mix sudden blindness, a loss of spatial orientation and fire? Not anything good, that's for sure.

a. anywhere in the city

[the plan was to only venture outside briefly and attempt to get better accustomed to walking around blind without assistance. relying on someone for everyday until this sudden blindness wears off (if it does...) can't be allowed. a good knight needs to be capable of standing on their own two feet.

30 minutes later and flynn's damn well been standing on those feet for a while. what started off as circling the area near the apartments ended with utter confusion as to his current whereabouts. why is he lost? he shouldn't be lost... but yet, he is. he has zero clue as to where this place is. ugh no escaping it. he needs to... ask for help.

upon hearing footsteps, flynn'll approach.]

Excuse me, could you tell me where I am?

b. the gardens

[going out alone proved a bad idea. what better way to prevent a repeat of what happened the other day than with a trusty guide dog! repede, as much as he dislikes the idea of a leash, agreed to it without much issue. he leads the way at a nice and steady pace while flynn follows behind.

as good as a guide dog is for going out for a walk, there's only so much a guide dog can do. managing to duck around debris or whatever else is one thing; spotting every little thing along the path is another. a large, uneven crack escapes repede's notice but it doesn't escape flynn's foot.

needless to say, stumbling forward and falling flat on his face or possibly tripping into anyone unfortunate enough to be next to him sure does happen.]

c. dojo

[not being able to see impacts numerous things, but the real question is how has it affected his ability to engage in a battle?

what better way to determine as much than by going to the dojo? repede watches from a corner nearby after having helped flynn with securing a training dummy (best dog, truly) as flynn tests his abilities. with his usual blade in hand, he stands a distance away and readies himself. he can do this. landing a hit on dummy isn't difficult. he's standing directly in front so he should be able to.

somewhere during his self-prep, that pesky little fire element starts to show. first a small flame starts at his hand but then that flame grows to encompass the whole sword. as cool as it looks, fire sword coupled with straw dummy can only end one way: badly.

he lunges forward with the intent to behead but only succeeds in nicking the arm. disappointment and aggravation cross his face as he frowns down at his no longer fiery sword. why had that hit landed so poorly? even blind, he can tell that was a farcry from lopping the head off.

meanwhile, the dummy's arm is on fire... that fire is quickly spreading and the guy next to it remains oblivious......]

[wildcard! hit me up with anything else!]
