purethingsonly: (and I stand amazed)

For as much as Ada loves talk of strange things like other worlds and dimensions, magic and curses, it's something that she would certainly enjoy talking about.

He's no fool, that's for certain. Even so, it startles her how suddenly he says that, and also how confidant he is in his assessment. Ada can't help but look around a bit, as if making sure no one heard. It's certainly odd behavior for someone so in love with the person. It was something more befitting of one who was embarrassed or ashamed of that relationship. All the same, she didn't seem to be either of those things when she spoke about him herself.

If he knew Vincent for anything else, she expected that he would have said as much. That was it's own sort of relief. But it didn't prove that they didn't share any related correspondence besides herself. For that reason, it was still important that she speak with him.

"You are... correct."

Boyfriend, lover, beloved... they were all appropriate terms, she supposed, though she'd never had it in her to utter them to him. But it wasn't like she felt threatened, no. For all his quirks, he had always been kind to her, and she felt quite happy with the way things were. It wasn't her who worried about others learning of their relationship - although there were a number of reasons that perhaps she should. But although she was fine with it, Vincent had always felt it best to keep it quiet. And after... well...

"I don't suppose you've ever met him, have you?" She can only guess as much from what he'd said, but she doesn't sound like one who's simply guessing either. "I know this might seem strange but... I want to ask you... not to say anything about it."
