[ It's been about a week since Ryuko started the Ceres Juice gig. Management has said that she had the right "look" as an attendant, but her attitude could use some improvement. The trick to attracting customers is to always SMILE and make them feel SPECIAL. Of course, Ryuko would have none of that, as those sound more like job requirements for the Pleasure District... however, a girl needs to make ends meet somehow. How else is she going to buy that motorcycle?

With a clearly forced smile, Ryuko greets any patron that approaches the counter. ]

Welcome to Ceres Juice~! Where we do the hard juice, so you don't have to! ( What the hell does that even mean? ) ...Uh. What will it be today~?

[ Sometime later, in an hour when the Shopping District is less busy, Ryuko can be seen neglecting her duty and trying to catch some quick power naps at the counter. Senketsu, her talking uniform that only Ryuko can hear, is trying to keep her from falling asleep. He tells her that if she's having trouble staying awake, then she shouldn't stay up so late the night before. ]

Hnngh... gimme a break, Senketsu... it ain't like anyone's gonna see us...

[ To anyone who's oblivious about Senketsu, she looks like a crazy person just talking to her inanimate clothes. ]

[ Hooray, it's lunch break!! Now she can really slack off and not get in trouble by anyone. Her work ethics could use some brushing up, however, as she's sitting with her bum on the counter and back turned towards any customers. With a delicious McCeres Burger in hands, she's not letting anyone ruin her 30 minutes of paradise. ]

Go away. [ She takes another mouthful. ] Busy.

[He blinks. He had not expected a girl her age to compliment his suit, whether she was only doing this for the sake of her job or not.]

[She nods, because that was definitely a concern for her, as well. What about her crew, or the previous world she was in, or even her own world?]

We all have our priorities, and most of us share the same ones. I'm of the mind that all work and no play makes me want to strangle someone.

Really? Didn't know police departments issued fancy cravats.

Somehow I don't find that hard to believe...

[ She finally finishes mixing the drink and sets it in front of her. The cup simply reads "sensei" instead of the customer's name. It felt more appropriate. ] As long as I ain't around when ya wanna "play" or strangle someone, I think we're gonna be fine.

No, they don't. [That would not only be inconvenient, but would also strain the police department's coffers. Does she really think one would just...issue cravats like party favors?] This is just how I normally dress.

[ The lady did look quite upset earlier, and Ryuko was specifically instructed to "keep the customer happy". But really it's just her way of apologizing to the old lady who looks like an emotional wreck. ...Let's be glad she didn't vocalize this part. ]

[Grell didn't expect to get a free drink. What a great day!

With a smile, she puts away her device and takes the juice, noting the name on the cup. Again with sensei? She really had to find out what it meant.]

Better late than never. Thank you. [Before she walks away, she takes a sip to test for quality. Alright, freshly squeezed and no pulp! Grell gives Ryuko a wave as she turns to walk back to the academy. One more class, then to her other job.]

I am a lawyer. I must always conduct myself with dignity and look presentable at all times.

[Because CERES won't let him practice law, geez.]

Wait, lawyers aren't supposed to work for the police, right? Aren't they governed separately or whatever? So which one is it, Sir?

CERES is not allowing me to practice my profession at the moment and has relegated me as police department secretary. And to be precise, I'm a prosecutor.

[ After Grell leaves, Ryuko consults her clothing again. ]

Bah, who cares? We're gonna get paid for this anyway, so might as well leech off CERES for a bit. ...Besides, maybe she'll give me better grades!
