[Closed] These boots were made for walkin'.

Who: Ruby Rose and Hiccup
When: 11/14 IC, 2/6 OOC
Where: Hiccup's place.
What: Ruby has come to deliver her super amazing awesome gift of epicness.
Rating/Warning: Ruby being a derp. No real warnings.

It had been a few days since Ruby announced her intention of delivering something to someone in the colony. She had intended to deliver it that day even. However, certain other forces conspired to keep her from her appointed rounds. ...Primarily the one that saw her zonked out in the street on the walk back to her apartment. ...And the one that made her bed so warm and comfy that she didn't want to wake up. BUT THOSE DEMONS HAVE BEEN SLAIN!

She was up, had cookies for breakfast, and had even washed the grease off her face. When she got to Hiccup's door, she knocked on it, grinning brightly as she held the wrapped box in front of her. This was going to be epic in Ruby's mind.

Silence. That was what was on the other side of the door in response to Ruby's initial knock, though that changes after a few moments to the sound of claws on the floor, frantic pitter patter, and the sounds of a certain nasally voice making words too muffled to understand.

Hiccup, of course, hadn't been expecting Ruby. He had been before, but she hadn't come--he was a little worried at first, until he remembered that she'd looked like she hadn't slept for days (and she probably hadn't). Chalk her lack of visit to her falling asleep at home maybe. Or at her work station. He was more than familiar with those kinds of situations.

Still, that was then, this was right now. Stepping through a multitude of papers scattered on the floor, nearly slipping on one with the bad leg, Toothless rushing this way and that with the echoing knock and scattering things more.

Frantic.

But he tried not to look it, as he allowed that magical door of his to slide open by itself. And there he was, trying to look as calm as possible, hair slightly a mess and a flurry of papers probably behind him from the rampaging dog-cat that was Toothless. Any mention of that? No, no. Simply a shocked expression, at first, and then:

"Ruby! Wow. Uh, when you meant later, you-- really meant later."

She had a wrapped box. Was that-- actually for him.

"I don't need sleep, she said."

That's a comment he can't resist making, lightly. Just like he thought. She looked like she was going to knock out and, lo and behold, she went and knocked out... while walking. Impressive.

Hiccup really does try to look surprised when she mentions the fact what she had been working on was for him, but everything she did was pointing towards that. He's grateful, of course, but... well, hiding things was also not her forte, apparently.

Taking the box, he continues, as Toothless moves to shove him over as soon as he grasps the box, in order to greet Ruby:

"That's-- hey, Toothless!--that's, what, wasn't this for your sister?" A smile, another shove from Toothless, as he demands Ruby's attention. "I mean, thanks, Ruby, you didn't have to. Uh, before I open it... Come in?"

And this is when Hiccup and Toothless move over, allowing Ruby more room to enter.
