What: Family dinner!! Well, two neighbors/good friends and Aoba, but close enough.
Rating/Warning: This is bound to be embarrassing in so many ways.


[ Having some time off from work during a weekday had left Clear with an abundance of free time, but he's made good use of it, he thinks! While his friends and Aoba were busy at their own jobs, he got an early start preparing a nice dinner for the four of them to share. It wasn't a grandiose idea, really, but he felt it to be an important one - a necessary ritual shared among good company. It promoted a sense of familiarity, home, and happiness.

Of course, he didn't believe that Aoba or Koujaku had the privilege of meeting Vietnam yet, but when he sent out texts asking them to share a meal at his place tonight, he assured them that the additional 'new friend' that he'd invited was a very kind person that they were sure to like! As for Vietnam, he'd asked for the opportunity to introduce her to Aoba-san♡ and their cool friend from home. They're sure to get along well, he juuust knows it!!) ]

ARRIVALS + MINGLE

[ As Clear makes the final preparations for dinner, he will hurry out to greet his guests with his usual sunny disposition. Please don't mind him, he still has a bit to do, if the apron he wears is any indication - though, he will be certain to introduce everyone before excusing himself back to the kitchen.

In the meanwhile, he has set out glasses and some Chivas Regal Scotch Whiskey for everyone to enjoy. It was an unexpected gift from an attentive customer and he doesn't know what else to do with it, please enjoy it...

As for his home, it's of modest size and furnishings; a living room that breaks off into a dining area, open kitchen, single bath and bedroom. (All of the tanks are filled with jellyfish, of course - but they're only holograms, alas. Still, he loves them very much.) Everyone's free to roam as they please! ]

DINNER

[ Taking a proud breath, he clasps his hands together and nods with satisfaction. AT LAST, dinner is done!

Clear has made an effort to neatly display the dishes he's put together - something he's learned from his butler gig! Only his best effort for his friends, you know. Potentially impressing Aoba might be a plus. ]

Everyone, dinner is ready! Please feel free to choose your seat and help yourselves!

[ If anyone's looking for Clear, he'll still be working away in the kitchen; however, it isn't closed off from the rest of the apartment, so he isn't exactly far!

The majority of the completed dishes await nearly rowed on the island counter that separates the kitchen from the living area. While preparing the rest, he sings softly to himself, quite content.

Feel free to visit with him, he'd enjoy the company! ]

[ The sight of them actually makes him forget about his dismal romantic prospects. He doesn't know what the names of half of these dishes are, but he'll make a pretty impressed noise at them, anyway. ]

You've really outdone yourself, Clear. [ He claps his hands together. ]

[ Also how does seating work here who is sitting next to Aoba THIS IS IMPORTANT ]

[ Koujaku's standing just outside the kitchen. ]

Yo, Clear! You need some help in there?

[ And out Koujaku arrives from the kitchen with a bottle of champagne and a stack of tumblers. ]

Yo! I got drinks! Get over here, Aoba, and you too, uh…Vietnam, right?

[ Did he hear his name just now? Clear's hand stills as he listens, and as he glances over his eyes meet Koujaku's, making him realize that he had been addressing him after all. Shoulders rising, he offers an apologetic smile. ]

Koujaku-san! I'm sorry, what was that? I must have been daydreaming.

[ In truth, his right ear hasn't been functioning so well since he arrived, but he's slowly learning that the truth is sometimes too complicated. Now that he's turned to face him, it should be fine, anyway! ]

[ Poor guy. Looks like there's still a lot to do, even if he's starting to get the whiff of something delicious from somewhere inside.

Koujaku steps in, admiring the décor here, too. ]

Just thought you might need a hand is all. [ He shrugs. ]

[She could be found looking at all the fishes in wonder during a quiet moment where she doesn't need to help out (yet). But look at this! Look at the furniture!

Can she even touch this?!]

Is this the extent of this technology?

[She may have promised Clear that she won't be helping him with the cooking today, but it still doesn't stop her from peeking into the kitchen.]

It smells lovely already, Clear!

[AHAHAHAHA. THIS GUY. It's actually interesting to see him now he wasn't completely high on life. But he's still a personable man?]

Yes, Vietnam. I'm surprised to see you here, ah, Koujaku, but pleasantly so.

[UNBEKNOWNST TO VIETNAM there's some kind of love rivalry going on between Clear and Koujaku. She wouldn't even know the details of whether or not they know either. She just knows that Clear loves Aoba. Sorry Koujaku, the whole time she thinks it's Clear route.

But seriously, Vietnam clasps her hands together when she looks at the spread.]

It's beautiful! The food itself already looks and smells delicious, but look at this layout!

[She doesn't know where to sit, so she's hovering close to a corner and waiting for everyone else to settle down first.]

[ Oh, what a nice offer! It makes Clear smile warmly. ]

Well... Hm!

[ Raising a hand to thoughtfully tap a knuckle at his chin, he steps back to look around at the placing he has already. ]

I think I'll be okay - but I do appreciate the offer. [ Is what he decides on, nodding surely as he looks back to his friend. ] Are you enjoying yourself, though? It looks like you haven't tried the drink I left out yet, is it not a good one?

[ Shaking his head, his smile turns a bit sheepish. ]

I don't know anything about alcohol, really. Grandfather couldn't drink it.

[ AHAHAHA CRAP. The look on his face when Clear introduced them earlier.

He coughs and begins to pour some champagne into a tumbler (it's got jellyfishes on it wow), as if that might keep her from noticing that blush that just happened. ]

Y—Yeah… [ He makes a show out of giving her the glass, then while Aoba's distracted, he leans in to whisper: ]

Sorry about that other day.

[See, because she didn't have dark intentions that day, she found this less embarrassing than he did. Which is why she was slightly confused by the way he's blushing.

He's very odd isn't he? Is he shier normally? (HAHAHAHAHAHA).

As she takes the glass, she figures out why he was so awkward around her, and shakes her head, whispering quietly back--]

It is fine, many others were strangely affected too, no? It is good to see you are well.

[ Upon hearing her voice, Clear looks over to shine the woman a smile. ]

Thank you, Vietnam-san! I hope it tastes as good!

[ He's working at adding some fruit pieces at the moment, so he'll offer her a plate full of extra slices to choose from! ]</small

I should be thanking you, for inviting me! I am looking forward to what you have prepared--...

[Oh! And it looks so nice already. She reaches over to pick at one of the apple slices.] Thank you again! Such smooth cuts...

[His hand control must be extremely good.]

It's fine. It's fine. [ Sheesh he's just trying to be a good guess here, but he has to admit, Clear appears to be far more efficient than he is in the kitchen.

Then again he's never had to cook for more than one or two people at a time. ]

So's the alcohol, by the way. You might not wanna give Aoba too much of those, though. 'Specially if he asks for it. [ Whoops. ]

[ Well she escaped him. No wonder he feels a little put out. This is just too awkward. ]

Yeah, but… [ Fuck this is embarrassing. He straightens up with an apologetic smile. ]

Why don't we head off somewhere a little quieter for a minute? [ He's sorry Aoba but this is Important. ]

[She tilts her head, exactly what is he worried about?]

Alright, where to?

[Outside in the hallway? Although she thinks they should still be within range for Clear and Aoba to call out to them.]

[ And there comes Aoba rounding the corner, carrying in a tray of various miscellaneous utensils in each hand. Eventually he stops in nearing proximity to Vietnam, mouth quirked up in a peaceable grin. ]

Nah, I bet you could do more. From what I've heard of so far, as long as you've got the tech and know-how, you could make this place look like practically anything.

[ A mulling pause, and then: ] It's pretty neat, huh? My place doesn't look half as nice.

[ In a stupendous feat of defunct mental prowess and defunct common sense, he's completely (and conveniently) oblivious to basically everything that's going on so far. No sense of social tact, whatever. There's no reason for anyone to be upset or unreasonably tense, since it's just a cozy dinner party between Good Friends™ with Aoba haphazardly thrown into the mix for variety. ]

Yeah, I'm at a loss for words. It must've taken you ages to plan this all out, Clear.

[ And without much more of a precursor, he CASUALLY TAKES THE CORNER SEAT where only one other person can obviously sit beside him. ... Well! Hopefully no one will mind that he's making the first move if he's unobtrusive about it! ]

[ Ah, such praise! Cheeks coloring with delight, he laces his fingers to keep himself from squirming too much - but he can't hold back that beaming smile! ]

Uwaa... I've been learning many new things at my job here that I couldn't wait to share with you! I'm really glad that you like it!

[ However, he didn't expect seating to be so complicated?! Whoops... At least Aoba makes the first move, even if... it's... aoba why

Would it be selfish if he took the seat next to Aoba? Would Aoba prefer to catch up with his childhood best friend?! Oh no....... ]

[ THERE, now it's not a problem anymore.... She was hovering by that corner anyway, right? Phew. ]

[ Sorry Koujaku, he's just got this entire process worked out in his head and he's already a ditz, so he doesn't want to lose track of that! ]

What do you mean? [ Totally clueless, Clear blinks. ] Does Aoba-san get sick from whiskey? There's other types of alcohol, if you want to look at them! I wouldn't want him to get sick... [ NOW HE'S WORRIED. ]

[ A grateful little chuckle carries under his breath, and once she's picked one out for herself, he sets the plate down within her reach - just in case she wants more. ]

You're very kind, but of course I'd like to invite you! We good friends now, aren't we, Vietnam-san? [ uguuuu, he's blushing~ ] Have you been getting along well with Aoba-san and Koujaku-san?
