[Of course, by now Kaoru has had plenty of time to adjust to the weird notions and ideas that seem most prevalent in places like Cerealia. Alternate timelines, alternate realities, running into people who know an uncomfortably large deal about people who don't even remember their names or faces; these are all experiences that have come and gone several times over by now.
What is new is meeting an alternate version of a person. Kaoru is normally viciously skilled at portraying emotions and reactions in a certain way, but the surprise that's present after hearing that name is raw and genuine and not exactly pleased. The mental cacophony of swearing that follows is even less pleasant as Kaoru tries to regain both bearings and self-control, hoping the reaction may just be taken as recognition of that name. The Wolves of Mibu are notorious, after all.]
Okita Souji-san... is it? [Kaoru's hands fold together, and the gesture seems both polite and somewhat nervous. A gentle bow follows, but there seems to be a little reluctance to look away fully. The smile presented immediately after is much more put-together, though; while it isn't bright and sunny, it's certainly friendly enough.]
It's a pleasure to meet you as well, regardless of the circumstances. It can't be helped, and it isn't as bad as it could have been. [A beat, and then:] My name is Nagumo Kaoru.
