First Prayer: I'm not your only friend...[Open]

What: Day in the life of Rei Hino

Residential District/Research District

[Rei's always enjoyed taking walks in her free time, getting to know the area around her and taking in the sites. She's been given a day off, a small thank you for a project deadline completion, and she's taking full advantage. It's different here, of course, given the alien nature of so much of the architecture but that's actually part of the appeal. She's reminded of what she's seen of her own world's future, and while the CERES logo plastered everywhere isn't entirely her favorite thing in the world it's nice to see some of the advertisements she's been working on around.

Eventually she'll make her way into the Research and Technologies District, looking around at all the sterile government buildings and ominous labs too. It's idle curiosity, combined with her family being involved in the civic system, that catches her interest. As well as possibly finding an entryway into CERES' facilities for later.

She's not paying the most attention to her immediate surroundings, though, so she might just bump into you, or brush past you. Trailing behind her, too, is a Cybuddy, this robot taking the form of a fuzzy baby panda bear. Whoever said she couldn't like cute things?]

CERES Gym:

[Next on her list is to find Abe no Sousei's kendo school. With a little help from Edgeworth, she's actually acquired a shinai of the proper size, and she'll turn up at the gym with that and a bow, wearing some pretty standard exercise clothes (scarlet and black of course) and begin warming up if he's not in yet. She'll start off with rock-climbing, an activity she finds herself actually doing pretty well at, and then move on to perform some pretty impressive gymnastic feats. After that? Archery.

Catch her taking a breather at the juice bar, or maybe watch while she's working out? Whatever strikes your fancy]

Restaurant:

[With all that done, it's time to get dinner. And that means heading out to a restaurant and then to pick up some stuff for the rest of the week. The restaurant she's hitting up claims to serve traditional Japanese dishes, and it's worth a try, she figures...though when she gets the food she orders, Rei's lips quiver in absolute disgust. She doesn't yell, but she gets up and carries the plate over to the counter, dropping the tray down hard enough to clatter and catch staff attention]

This is not Hōtō-nabe. [Ugh.] This is not even remotely close. It's green. And it smells like garlic. And since when are edamame purple? I'd like a refund.

[Naturally, she is going to be that customer. Or that fellow patron. Or...whatever.]

Shopping

[And with that fiasco out of the way, she has to settle for less familiar food, in this case a fried fish sandwich. It is what it is, and she'll eat it, but it leaves her wanting. So it's off to the store, where she goes through a little of everything she'd consider “traditional”, gathering up a rather full basket. Sorry if you were looking for that super-secret sauce or those last pickled plums, she's already reaching for the last one...]

[Cheating at online poker for hours on end got boring quickly. The folks at the console-based casino got frustrated with him and gave him vouchers to return, but ultimately couldn't prove he was doing anything wrong. All in all, he was stocked on credits for the week and he could frivolously spend all of them as he saw fit.

He drank a potion of youth and went clothes shopping, eventually going to the local food store. By the time he got there, he completely forgot the goal his older self had in mind. So, there was a ten year old to be seen stuffing an inordinate amount of candy into a shopping cart. He was filling the entire thing with candy.

Also, grape juice.]

[ On the other side of the food shelf, Rei might hear a familiar voice that sounds like she's talking to herself. It seems like Ryuko is bickering with Senketsu while she stocks up on some groceries after school. ]

All I'm sayin' is that Literature ain't gonna help us save our world.

(( Senketsu: You keep saying that, but you still wind up in detention. How is that any more productive? ))

Well then, maybe I should just quit.

(( Senketsu: People would wonder why you're wearing a sailor uniform if you're not a student. ))

They already wonder about you every time I fight...

[ ...Rei might want to interrupt this one-man comedy act. ]

[there's someone perched at the top of the rock climbing wall today, his legs danging over the edge. he seems to just be. . . chilling there, like the heights don't bother him at all (which they don't).]

[he doesn't say anything-- there isn't much to say at the moment-- but he does seem to be watching rei curiously out of the corners of his eyes. examining her rock climbing technique, maybe? ~who knows~ his expression is pensive, after all]

[He appears in the dojo portion of the gym in time to see her warm up, if nothing else. He doesn't really feel the ned to interrupt that, and so instead he simply settles himself as well, setting aside his actual sword neatly. It has no place in sparring and actual practice, after all.

It's then that he turns around to inspect one of the newcomers who had actually impressed him a little.]

Hino.

[he's bad at polite greetings, but...hi?]

[ Heung Soo often finds himself all over the place while he works - the circumstances of being a delivery boy. He's bringing something from the shopping district to the residential one at the moment, but before he even notices Rei, he's noticing something else - a panda CYBuddy he's almost walking into, only stopping just in time.

For a moment it seems like the thing is without owner, but then he spots someone walking off into the distance and raises his voice. ]

Ya! [ Not.. the most polite way of calling after someone, but Heung Soo is just a little rough around the edges even now.. ] You're forgetting something!

[OH BOY did someone say cute CyBuddies?? OZ IS HERE. He's on his way out into the shopping district himself, if the bag slung over one shoulder is any indication, but he totally has time to stop and say hello.]

Rei-san! [The phrasing still sits a little strangely on his tongue, but he sure did remember.

Also raising a hand!! Vigorously waving! Pointing to the baby panda with even more vigor thereafter...] Your CyBuddy is so cute!

[Archer does his shopping every once in a while. While he's out, he tends to pick up some kind of snack for Rin and Saber. Because if he's out and doesn't get something, they'll complain. Truly a terrible life.]

If you want something decent, eat at my place.

[Not exactly a good advertisement but he prises his food over everyone else'.]

[Now that Anna wasn't living the lifestyle of a princess, she had to find someway to cook her own food. While it was difficult, it didn't stop her from trying! Sure, her food might look and taste a little gross but at least she was making the best out of it!

Of course, now that she was looking through an aisle of food, she was pondering a little to herself. Although, what she was planning on doing with soda, pumpkins, candy, and a bunch of other stuff?

Who knows...]

[ Well what a coincidence, Kousetsu is reaching for those pickled plums as well. He's off on an errand for the apartment to pick up some foods for a traditional Japanese meal. His basket containing many of the same ingredients Rei's probably does. She might be familiar with his attire too, since it's that of Buddhist priest and their normal attire. He will look back at her, blue hair falling about his shoulders, with a blank sort of expression on his face. He'll pull hand away after a second or so pause so as to let her have them instead. ]

[... There's a cute, robotic panda bear walking past him. And... yeah, its owner is probably somewhere close too. Or something. That part doesn't really matter.

What matters is picking up the Cybuddy for closer inspection, because the technology in this place and its uncanny similarities to some of the things he saw back home are extremely fascinating to him. And he never did learn to keep his hand off of things he liked.

So, you know, if she happens to turn around, that's what she'll find him doing; trying to pick up the panda for probing and inspection, without a word uttered.]

[Talk about a girl who seems to have purpose. Even if it's just an idle walk, Jae-ha doesn't see any reason to call out to her particularly so he carefully steps to the side when she walks past so that he doesn't bump into her to pull her out of her wandering. Certainly they can talk another time--

Except as he moves back into the pathway that he was intending to go down, his foot bumps into the panda bear and he blinks in curiosity.]

Ah?

[Cue this dragon man crouching down to see the little creature, not quite making the connection that it's actually following Rei.]

Hello, small bear. Do you eat people? Do I need to direct you back out?

[Listen.... a lot of animals around here do that....]

[Yuya normally prefers the bars or the beams instead of the floor, but he's always happy to watch any routines. So when sticks a particularly difficult land he'll applaud her from his place on top of the one of the higher balance beams.]

Nice one!

[ Mercury isn't the type to cook his own food, so his basket is filled with some instant noodles, and some microwaveable snacks. He spots Rei just as he's about to head to the counter, and decides that it is a Good Idea to bother her. ]

Well, well, well. Cooking dinner, are we?

[ He's just reporting in for his regular shift as a lifeguard, really, but with Oz scheduled at the same time, he's wandering away just to break the tedium for a bit. Of course, that's when he comes across Rei and her dexterously and borderline-inhuman feats, which are seriously impressive, all things considered. He doesn't mean to stare, but around the five-minute mark, he intercedes the silence when she's readjusting her arrows to speak up — all while downplaying his enthusiasm, of course. ]
