[And Sousei covers the other areas--and at the very least, he's not terrible at it. An hour is a lot of time to gather information, especially in video game land, which is way simpler, he's finding, than real life. So Sousei simply questions people, gathers information, and explores the town.
It really isn't that big, and it's not particularly Japanese in make-up--but that's probably for the better.
