A - fortune telling option, expect talk of love

[ Looking to have your romance fortune told? Because Pearl Fey has a little table in the arcades where she sits at with a crystal ball and some tarot cards. All of which are bullshit, but she is an actual spirit medium, so maybe her fortunes aren't as full of shit as they could be?

If you walk up, you may see her chatting with another teenaged girl, magician Trucy Wright, telling her her fortune for the fifteenth time that day. Or if she's alone she might call out to you, with a smile, ] Hi, would you like to know what your future holds?

[ It’s possible to get your fortune told while Trucy’s there to commentate as well, of course, sitting on the side of Pearl’s table and kicking her heels. Just specify. Trucy may or may not provide glittersmoke for dramatic fortune-telling moments if included. ]

B - at the party store / magic show

[ And then at the party supplies store, Pearl is behind the counter and Trucy is… sitting on the counter. She appears to be regaling Pearl with increasingly silly magic tricks, and may at one point pull out Mr. Hat to hand Pearl a dropped CereVice. You can approach Trucy alone about her spectacular tricks, or if you really want to buy party supplies you could speak to Pearl alone, too. If you don’t just talk to both of them as Pearl bursts out laughing (or beforehand, during any number of dumb magic tricks). ]

Why thank you, Mr. Hat! [ With a little smile. ]

[ Trucy’s lips don’t move so much as a hair, but there’s a reply in her “Mr. Hat” voice: ] No problem, Miss Pearl!

C - dress shopping

[ On the 22nd, the two teens are out on the hunt for dresses for that sweet fancy party coming up. Catch them searching the racks for dresses in blues, purples, pinks, etc, or trying on said dresses. It’s possible to have either of them come out of the dressing room and ask: ]

What about this one? [ It’s usually directed at the other girl, but maybe they didn’t realize you were there and accidentally polled a stranger since the other one wandered off. Or maybe you just want to give an opinion. They will, after all, try on a few obvious “why would you evers” for fun (as evidenced by the laughter)...such as the following: Trucy, Pearl, and Trucy and Pearl...they’re not being serious, but you’re free to think these choices are 100% serious. They’ll also be trying on various pieces of jewelry and different shoes, although again some of their choices are clearly chosen just to make the other one crack up. Productive, ladies.

They can also be caught gossiping if you come upon them at just the right time... ]

No, he hasn’t said he’s going with anyone yet...but I’m sure we can get him a date! [ Trucy. Pearl’s quick enough to respond with: ]

What about Mystic Maya...? [ Before they both notice you... ]

D - wildcard

[ If none of those work, feel free to run into the girls on anywhere there are stores to shop in on the 22nd as they search for dresses/shoes/accessories (they may also stop to eat lunch and the like, gossiping wherever) or wherever on the 21st. They’re both fairly friendly and don’t mind being flagged down at random. ]

[Well, it's obvious that when one of the girls asks for an opinion on her dress, she's talking to the other girl with her. But Souji, standing around looking mildly lost in the accessories section, is still only too happy to give his own opinion. Mostly because he's getting a bit confused and bored trying to figure hair pins out.]

You both look very pretty. [That comes accompanied with a beaming smile. He's about as fashion conscious as bread, but they are both young and seem sweet, and at least they're not wearing any of the more hideous dresses, so that kind of answer is a given.] Are you getting clothes for a special occasion?

Oooh, yes!! [ Well, Trucy is ALWAYS happy to chat with strangers. It's a thing with her. Pearl isn't usually much better, so this will go swimmingly... ]

We're both going to that ball that Miss Natalia is throwing! I'm going to be an entertainer, but I should look nice, right? And I know I'll have time for some dancing...

[ She will MAKE TIME, gosh darnit. ]

Yes, it's a ball so we have to look as nice as possible! You can't go to a ball looking bad, it's not allowed.

[ And these probably aren't the dresses they should wear to accomplish that, but. ]

Ah, so this ball is pretty formal, then?

[His gaze does take in some of the more Why? dresses visible, a little hesitant, but... well, it seems impolite to question them. He's not very up on what people in other times and cultures wear, so maybe some of those garish things are... perfectly ordinary?]

I'm afraid I'm a bit out of touch with these kind of clothes- [A small laugh, and a casual gesture which takes in the excessively traditional yukata he's wearing.] -but is the ball in celebration of anything in particular? Having a theme to follow might narrow it down, right?

[Archer was pretty sure he had no future but it looked like it might be an amusing prospect. Dealing with idiots was boring but running them in circles could provide some amusement.]

Fine. What do I need to do?

[Grabbing a chair at the table and sitting down.]

I think so! I mean, a ball sounds formal, right? Just like in fairy tales! I've never actually been to a ball before...

[ But by god is she going to do her best. ]

It's a winter ball, though!! So I think I might go for something blue...and snowflake themed jewelry? Well, if I can cover it.

[ Pearl will smile and nod her head in greeting. ]

[ Trucy, for her part, will hop off the edge of the table and stand behind Pearl with her arms crossed, smiling with some amount of amusement. She'll provide the special effects...

...not that it's obvious that's why she's there, unless the magician's hat is a tip off. ]

[Simple enough. Archer pulls up a sleeve and holds out his right hand. Which is well worn, the hand of someone who uses swords and bows. And also cooks a whole bunch.]

Neither have I, but I think they're supposed to be grand and sophisticated! Like a fancy party.

[ Fancy = sophisticated and formal, right. ]

We'll definitely need snowflakes. Glittery ones. [ Because nothing says sophistication like glittery snowflakes. ]

[ Pearl will take his hand, and trace any lines she sees with her other hand without touching the palm itself. She's being Very Serious about it. ] Hm, yes...

Your fate line is very strong. I see that you have... a great destiny.

[ THIS SEEMS LIKE A GOOD TIME FOR GLITTER SMOKE AND CONFETTI. ]

Oooh! What great luck!

I don't mean to be too rude but my story is over and done with. Unless, of course, you're referred to whatever happens in this place. Then that much is fair game.

[He'd shrug but that would pull his hand away. Though he kind of hates his previous great destiny, unfortunately. Which is why he's where he is today.]

I cannot say where your destiny will take you, only that it will be great. And I see more than that... [ She peers at his palm again, then looks over to her crystal ball. Then back again. ] I see... a special someone. A fated love.

[ What did Archer expect when approaching two teenage girls, honestly. Trucy has heard Pearl give about a thousand love fortunes - what other kind is there, to be honest? - and through methods known only to her, she makes a glowing heart appear in the crystal ball.

...Seriously, she's not sharing her methods. ]

When will he meet this love?!

Obviously. The question is if this person is 'the one' or if I should dump the person I'm with now while I have the chance.

[Going along with it because....two teenage girls.]

[ Trucy's effects are the star of this show. ]

Hm... [ She closes her eyes, and clutches her aqua magatama while still holding onto Archer's hand. ] I see that you have met your fated love already... but I cannot see who they are! They could be the person you're with now... or someone else...

[ Pearl does not want to be liable for any break-ups here. ]

But I will say that you must listen to your heart, otherwise you will never know.

[ Meanwhile, Trucy thinks Pearl's fortune-telling is great. Even though...it's pretty much all made up...whatever!!! ]
