prosecutory: (♘ and I discovered that)

[Edgeworth purses his lips, not questioning the "madman dressed as Santa Claus trying to kill me" bit. Stranger things have happened. Men in masks, rogue security droids and invincible monsters have tried to take his life. A homicidal Santa guy is not an impossibility especially now that Edgeworth has learned to be more open to possibilities in a world where just about anything is possible. His face remains steady, his hand on the door knob, his eyes on Manfred.

Manfred probably never believed he would say something like that, to a person related to the Edgeworth family, no less. Edgeworth has been there, done that, spouting crazy but true observations, telling stories of his escapades in Death City he was certain no one would ever believe.

But when Manfred asks for the Christmas tree, the gears in Edgeworth's mind begin turning ever faster. Why the tree? Did that have something to do with the maniacal Santa Claus chasing his old (not-so-old, now) mentor?]

Why? [His tone is steady, and his gaze flicks beyond Manfred, and to the sides, as if watching to see if the mysterious Santa was catching up.]
