With all consideration, technically this is positive recognition. Erring on the side of obsessive and dangerous, yes, but it is still out of a supposed love and respect for us that they offer these...praises.

However, I cannot answer you as to why these are the forms in which they express their appreciation, nor why we do not receive nicer things. But I also believe complaining is hardly warranted. This world might be infinitely better than what some people are coming from. A reprieve, if you will.
