What: Kousetsu is out and about. Also the Samonjis go to the game center to learn how to do the thing?!

Shrine: June 3rd

[ For a good majority of the morning Kousetsu will be at the shrine tending to the normal duties one would have there. He’ll be watching people with a keen eye for all those who actually do come to visit. It’s not like he doesn’t trust people but he is pretty serious about his duties. Way too serious even, but that is Kousetsu for you. He’ll be going around handing out emas for people to inscribe and write their wishes or prayers on. His face serious as he does so. If you’re not busy in prayer or are simply enjoying the sights have a tall six foot tall man with bluish white hair wearing a decorative priests robe silently come up to you. Kousetsu no. This is not how you approach someone. ]

…here. This is to put upon the wall. It is for making wishes and prayers. [ He’ll motion towards the wall covered with the plaques already, despite the new year passing already, he doesn’t feel as if people should go without getting their wishes or prayers heard. He’ll also be handing out omamori for a stellar price of just 100 credits each. Not that he actually does it for the money of course. ]

…for luck and protection for yourself or your loved ones. They are…not very expensive.

[ He really sucks with selling things, yeah… ]

Around the city: June 4th

[ And at some point Kousetsu can be found wandering the city with his pet CYbuddy perched on his shoulder. The dove might take off at some point, whether it be because it sees a CYbuddy dog or cat (this is most likely the reason) at a speed greater than Kousetsu can keep up with. Unbeknownst to you (one unexpected bystander) the poor dove might accidentally fly into your hair making it into a temporary perch as it coos pitifully and rather uncertainly back down at whoever's head it's now occupying. ~~Congratulations you now have head pigeon, go to the nurse's office.~~ Kousetsu will trail, quickly, behind before bowing in apology. ]

I am sorry…it seems he was frightened by something.

Game Center: June 5th

[ Once all their chores and work has been done a much needed rest is deserved. So whether you’re at the game center today or just passing by you might spot three brightly colored persons walking about it. Kousetsu had decided that he would take Souza and Sayo to the game center just because it seemed like a place the other two would enjoy. He himself isn’t particularly fond of any one game but he will watch his brothers play the more violent ones, not exactly brimming with excitement to try those for himself. At some point they’ll all go their separate ways to try various gaming consoles they find intriguing. So if you happen to need a partner in crime Souza, Sayo, and Kousetsu are here for your use. ]

[Because Kashuu's heard that there are certain games in the game center that can simulate Actual Battles without unnecessary risk and if that's not the sickest thing ever, he doesn't know what is, okay.

But he's sidetracked on his way in, because HEY that sure is a familiar colorful little gathering over yonder! Naturally, he goes in that direction first because saying hello to comrades is just as important as serving up the collective asses of virtual reality enemies.]

Yo! What's so interesting here?

[WHAT'S THIS GAME WHAT'S GOIN ON sure seems like Kousetsu doesn't like it, but maybe the other two do?! He'll be peering at the screen from a distance, either way.]

[Poor Kousetsu... But even though he's kind of awkward and probably definitely not the best salesman, Takasugi doesn't seem to mind at all. He wears a polite smile as he reaches for his wallet.]

I might as well. It'd be strange to leave a shrine without one.

[He wasn't the kind of person who relied on wishes or prayers, but who's he to argue with tradition, you know?]

[Why is Nakigitsune here? Well he saw an attractive crane game out front and then followed all the other attractive colors and lights farther inside, and...caught sight of a familiar trio of ~~colors~~ brothers.

Ohh, what a coincidence, running into you three here! Are you enjoying the games?

[While Kousetsu wouldn't like it, Sayo seems to be pretty invested in the game. He's sitting down on the bench and playing a...fighting game? The two fighters are beating each other up and drawing blood with each hit.

Can humans even bleed that much?!

But soon, both fighters are at low, red health. Somehow, since Sayo's still learning how to use his fighter's movesets. Mostly via buttonsmashing until he launch a move, somehow.]

[At some point, Sayo went on his separate ways from his brothers to try the games that got his attention. He can be found lingering near the more violent games, be it fighting games where people can squirt out blood from their wounds to shooting games. Maybe you can find him at these games?

OPTION A: Zombie shooting game.
Sayo received a fair amount of looks when he picked up the gun and aim it at the screen. Because to other people, he looks like a young child trying to play a game meant for mature gamers. It's a little awkward, not because of the gun (using musketeer troops made him somewhat familiar with firearms), but because... well, he's still short.

At least he's aiming at the zombies on the screen and not his NPC allies.

OPTION B: Bloody fighting game.
Sitting on the chair is one (1) Sayo playing the game. It seems to be a fighting game. A very... bloody one, at that.

Lots and lots of blood being spilled, and more is coming out with each hit (either on Sayo's character or his opponent's). More so whenever Sayo manages to pull off a combo or a special move.

OPTION C: ...Crane game?
Unlike his previous stops, this is practically harmless and normal. Sayo is standing on his toes, looking through the glass window at the various prizes inside. It seems like he's trying to get a better look at something?

Later on, he might be walking back to his brothers with a prize (or two, or three...) from the crane game.

OPTION D: Wild card!?
Or maybe Sayo's walking around and happens to see you playing a game. Whatever it is, he'd be watching for a moment and maybe, just maybe, asks if he can join in as your partner. Want a short boy as your gaming partner?]

[ Adventure! Exploration! Scouting! --- these were objectives Kogitsunemaru was expecting to accomplish on this, his day off. He's pretty much figured his way to the Kitsune Udon from swordhaus and today was the day the little fox was going to really map out all the different locations.

As he's walking, he doesn't feel the soft, feathery missile enter, but he certainly hears the soft cooing of a thing in his hair, of all places. WHY IS IT MAKING SOUNDS?! Instead of panicking, he takes a moment to figure out what exactly happened.

And this is why Kogitsunemaru is sitting on a bench, purposefully away from foot traffic but not so far as to be easily missed, wherever that may be. His expression is a mixture of annoyance, nervousness, and growing acceptance ~~because he knows head pigeon is contagious, so isolation is the best plan~~ with his hair oddly unkempt. Also, the little fox looks like he's carefully petting himself. ]

Oy, Sayo. What are you looking at?

[ Coming from the entrance, Kogitsunemaru approaches Sayo and takes a look at whatever he is fixated on. Hm, what's in there? ]

[ Kousetsu is quite displeased, yes, but that doesn't mean he'll take away the fun for his two brothers. Sayo at least seems to be enjoying himself with the game. His attention is drawn away from the violently bloody game when Kashuu arrives on the scene.

He bows in greeting towards the other sword. His face as impassive as ever. ] Kashuu-san. It is...a video game. [ A far too violent video game. Is this what humans consider fun?! No wonder there is no peace in the world and everyone fights when they have the chance...

But no he will not spiral into his usual anti-fighting speech here. ]

Have you...tried any since arriving here?

[ Kousetsu will just bow with gratitude then. He's always polite but even more so when people make contributions to the shrine and the things it represents. ]

...thank you for your patronage. I pray that it...will be of use to you here.

[ Because in this place everyone needs a bit of luck and protection. If that last fiasco was anything to go by. ]

[INCREDIBLE... Kashuu will just be one of those annoying over-the-shoulder onlookers once he gets bored of watching from farther back.]

What's the point of this game? D'you win anything if you beat that guy? This one over here's you, right?

[At least he's not a backseat gamer, but a motormouth question cannon probably isn't much better.]

[A moment in time where Kousetsu can actually resist giving an anti-fighting speech, truly this is something to cherish and remember forever...

But he's shaking his head at that, setting his hands on his hips and watching the game play out somewhat impassively. After a second or two of observation, his attention turns back to Captain Peace.]

Nope. I was on my way to try that vivid thing or whatever it's called - the simulator? [SHRUGS. He wasn't paying super close attention to the explanation, good work Kashuu.] The rest of these seem kinda pointless. Buuut I also heard there are some kids who make money off of them or something.

So do I. From the looks of it, I'm probably going to need it.

[No one was immune to this world's tricks. Not even someone like him, who some might argue deserved whatever bad things might come his way.]

This place sure doesn't like to mess around.

[Sayo glance over, and then up at Kogitsunemaru when he heard his voice.]

I'm trying to look at that... purple toy.

[Is that a purple teddy bear? It seems to be half buried in the pile of toys and laying down on its back.]

[Probably not. Sayo already sensed Kashuu's approach, but his concentration didn't break until he spoke. And that's when his opponent got lucky enough to KO his fighter. That's...a lot of blood coming out.

"YOU LOSE"

WAY TO RUB IT INTO HIS FACE, GAME. After giving it a ~~glare~~ stare, Sayo looks behind him to see Kashuu.]

...We control warriors and fight with these buttons. And I don't think we win anything.

[is he sour about losing? maybe]

[Oops... Bye, Sayo's warrior, he hardly knew ye. Kashuu watches with some amount of interest as the little fighter character keels over and the screen lights up with its declaration of failure.]

Oooh. So it's just for fun?

[And for the glory of beating an AI fighter, he supposes...]

Can you play against other people?

[ Purple toy, purple toy... oh, there it is. At least, Kogi thinks he sees it. It's buried in a sea of other colored animals, though the crane doesn't look too reliable. ]

Need a better look? There's a lot of stuffed things in there. [ He already sees a couple dogs, rabbits, a giraffe. Kogi is happy to boost Sayo to scout out some potential friends for the bear. ]

[ His expression turns into a deep frown at those words. This place was indeed dangerous and unpredictable. Any thing he had thought upon arrival had changed with the last few events and the enemies that came with them. ]

...I can only hope that these will bring you some protection. [ He does indeed hope that they do. With whatever else they will have to face here, Kousetsu hopes that any small amount of protection will be of some use. ]

[ Ah, yes, Kousetsu does indeed notice a certain older fox sword apparently petting himself?! He has been on the look out for his dove since it went flying off a few moments ago but he wasn't expecting to run into Kogitsunemaru here. Kousetsu will come over then, arms folded into his robe's sleeves as his head tilts slightly to the side. ]

Kogitsunemaru-san? Are you alright? [ It's only when the dove actually pokes its head out from the nest that is the other's hair that Kousetsu realizes why the other has been acting oddly. ]

...I am sorry. It seems Shiro is stuck...

[Juggling three jobs is pretty tough sometimes, so Larry likes to slip into the game center to blow off steam from time to time. He's scouring the games for anything that might catch his eye, but what catches his eye instead is Kousetsu! And...oooh, there's Souza, and...who's the third? He doesn't recognize that one. Welp, time to find out!

He trots on up to Kousetsu (and whoever happens to be with him if they haven't dispersed by the time Larry gets over there), offering a casual wave.]

Yo! We just keep running into each other, huh Kousetsu? Planning on playing a game with your bro and friend?

[He should probably have caught on about Sayo considering descriptions he's heard of the younger brother, but this is Larry we're talking about. He tends to forget details.]

[ It is truly a glorious day indeed. Or Kousetsu just has no words for the unspeakable horror that is video games. Either or works, really. ]

Vivid? [ He vaguely remembers what that is, yeah, he actually doesn't remember at all. ] ...they pay people to play these games.

[ He thinks momentarily before nodding as if remembering something. Yes he does remember a certain demi-fiend telling him as much. He never really understood how this could possibly make money, but whatever works for people here. ] ...yes. That is true. Naoki-san told me that he...makes money playing these games.

[Now the screen is asking if Sayo wants to continue. INSERT COIN?]

It's a little fun.

[Which is saying a lot, for someone who doesn't really get "fun" activities. Sayo looks next to him, at where there's another set of buttons and a joystick on the console.]

And yes, you can. You have to press a button to tell it that you're playing.

Yes, I would like that, Kogitsunemaru-san.

[Sayo knows he's short and if a fellow sword offers to help, he doesn't mind accepting it.]

[Nodding in response, both to the not-quite-question and the repetition of "vivid". He assumes Kousetsu just knows what he's talking about so he doesn't clarify...]

Seems pretty weird, yeah? Like, what's the point with these games at all? Aren't they just for fun?

[So people are getting paid... to have fun?? UNTHINKABLE.]

It sure doesn't benefit the rest of us, anyway. What was that guy's name? Naoki? [He's going to FIND HIM and ASK because he also doesn't get how this could possibly make money and he's curious enough to find out.]

[OH BOY he's got some coins! Sure, he was going to use them on other things, but whatever... He'll just get more when he's done here. No big!! He reaches into his pocket to fish one out, jabbing a thumb toward the joystick.]

Good, good! Let's play a round together.

[Has he ever played this before? NOPE. But how hard can it be...]

[Sayo nods and maybe, just maybe, a little eager to play against a living player. He's going to wreck your shit, Kashuu. He grabs a coin from his pocket, which he's still got a handful left.]
