Armin nods, slowly straightening up. He's embarrassed to admit it. How foolish had it been to fall into such a trap, and so quickly? He hadn't been able to break through the windows either. There'd been no other way that he could find to escape.

Which is a pity, because he really hates running. He's not usually very good at it, either. Today seems to be the exception.

Heh. Where'd that come from? [ She wipes a bit of grime from the corners of her eyes and shakes mud from her hair; sitting here like this isn't the most comfortable, but at least she's free from mosquito bites and talking to someone new! ] I... I don't know.

When I was a child? I preferred my left hand. But after awhile it... seemed like a waste not to use my right too, and - besides, my... mother didn't much like me using the left. Heh.

Well that's an interesting dilemma. And an annoying one, if it means waiting for Armin to catch his breath every few minutes. Though while the idea of simply going on without him certainly crosses Mika's mind, he can't help wondering a bit about how the strange effect works.

[Armin happens to be in the habit of listening carefully and being almost absurdly observant. He doesn't fully understand yet, but there are gears turning even without his willing them. Sorting patterns, contemplating loose ends.

It's the follow up comment that he focuses on, since it seems to be her attempt at drawing him away from whatever that near admission had been. That's such an odd way to say it.]

That's the case for many here. I'm from a much earlier time, myself, but I've had quite a while to adjust.

He decides to answer a question she didn't ask as well, since she'd used hers on something easily inferred. Perhaps conversation was more of the goal than gaining information?]
