Then I assume choosing the 'wrong' option will set off something that'll try to kill us.

[ It's a question disguised as a statement, wanting some sort of confirmation as he tries to think of which would be more important: justice, or truth? ]

[ Inaba seemed to not be a fan of magical shenanigans. It was something she'd have to shelve away for future reference. Even if magical shenanigans were Nanoha's stock in trade. ]

I like justice too, but different people have different senses of justice. I wouldn't want to pick it and let ViViD assign a quest that doesn't fit me, does that make sense?

[ Nanoha was mainly concerned with stopping bad people and keeping them away from society, with rehabilitation a close second priority, with punishment barely pinging on her radar. For all her reputation as an unflinching devil, she was really too nice for most people's "justice." ]

Hm, you say you don't want to think about him, but... [ She really sounds like she's talking about her boy/girlfriend. Not many other people could simultaneously bring up such anger and affection at the same time. ]

[Alien senpai can be a good senpai. Please don't ask him to do too many human things. Alas, Saiduq can't say the same about his own luck. If dying in nearly every route wasn't enough to prove that his luck is terrible tier, then maybe the fact that it could possibly cancel out Akane's good luck might do the trick.

Unfortunately, they do not end up right near the exit, but it sure is easier to navigate, not having to care about walls, and they do smoothly make their way for a bit.

...Going ghost, regrettably, doesn't mean they don't have to care about angry alien patients, however. Saiduq pauses, still hovering himself and Akane a few inches about ground, when he hears a...noise not unlike a low gurgle of anger. It seems to be somewhat nearby, near enough for even human ears to pick up. He glances at her, shooting her a nonverbal "Did you hear that?"

[If this were a regular duplicate, he might have been offended, but IV agrees. The brat's creepy.

Now that he's given into the compulsion, manipulating his body so long as they're still dancing is actually a rather easy feat. So IV begins to steer them down the hallway in a slow, grueling process of perpetual footwork and spinning.]

If that's what it takes, we'll do that. I don't know about you, but I'm not staying here any longer than I have to.

[Taken by surprise, IV is pushed up the stairs. After the first few, he skips a step and continues at his own quick pace. He's glad to be leaving.]

[He exits first, emptying out into the hallway and moving to close the door behind Ruby.]

Do not misunderstand me; I have not given up on anything. Just because I cannot bring myself to say them now does not mean I shall never do so. You jump to conclusions far too quickly.

[A smug, teasing smile, directed straight towards him. If he's going to joke around, then so will she. In the same way that she "jokes" around with Yamato, at that. Congrats, he's part of the family.]

After all, we still don't know the full extent of what that nurse did to you—you could prove dangerous to us all. Locking you up again may be the best course of action.

[The problem is, Rio had been about to go for the door, herself. She falls flat on her rear in surprise when IV is thrust through in-- what is he wearing? Are they really doing this again?

...And yet, a bigger problem arises when she again realizes she's barely wearing anything right now. Locking her knees together and pulling down on her gown with a frantic yelp, she scoots back and then picks herself up, crossing her arms over her chest despite the fact there is, in fact, a layer of fabric between her and his eyes.]

You've no place being a doctor if you're that terrible at remembering your patients...

[Although she sort of hopes they're not going to be roleplaying again, because that crosses just a few lines somewhere or other.]

Is that so? I imagine that they might have been, but it always helps to make sure. Are they entirely fabricated, or are they some distortions of facts? Those are the questions that must be asked to try to determine the meaning behind this situation.

[He's about to retort without much thought when it occurs to him that this is someone he knows – quite well, in fact. And what an odd, nearly shocking sight it is. Straightening after that aggressive treatment from the bumbling nurse, IV tilts his chin.]

Rio? [As if saying her name would shatter some kind of illusion.] Why are you here?

[In other words, she isn't actually hurt, is she? He trusts this facility as far as he can throw one of its cthulhu patients, but checking never hurt. This is Rio in a hospital gown (again), which is a display he can't say he enjoys.]

I won't! [Yeah, the suspect's pretty much trapped due to Ai's telekinesis and so she makes her way over to Adolf, looking very concerned.]

[But since they've succeeded, victory music plays out of nowhere. A screen pops up and it says "CONGRATULATIONS." And...!!!]

[It's not like he's the one who practically lives here, after all. Except this time, she's no here for any injury that she knows about, and she certainly doesn't feel any worse for wear. Brushing herself off with no small amount of ruefulness, she starts coming at him straight up, holding out a hand expectantly. It doesn't look like she's hurt, but even so, she's got other priorities right now.]

[A part of him is relieved enough to relinquish the coat without fuss. He shrugs it off, minding the stethoscope, and holds it out to drape over Rio's hand. He's forgotten to remove the name tag.]

They arbitrarily decided to make me a doctor. I thought I'd be seeing one of the patients from the waiting area, but . . .

[Rio and the average patient here look very different.]

[Thomas, huh... She manages a small smile as she hands it back to him, figuring he'd have more use for it than her, or something like that. At least she knows now, though. Pulling the coat closed despite the fact she's practically drowning in it, she reaches for the door again, only to find it locked.]
