[So much for that. It was worth a shot in IV's mind, although at a second glance, who knows what possessed him to think this alien between them would be anything like the Barians. He rests his hands on his hips, recalling what was written on the chart.]

He's been admitted for a case of "in-law drama." What are we supposed to do about that?

[Rather, why does that even warrant a surgery? Stress-induced ulcer?]

["In-law drama"... Rio keeps repeating it in her head, hoping it will make sense sooner or later. It doesn't.]

What does that even mean?! Arguing with your in-laws cannot possibly require cutting someone open to fix!

[But the problem is obviously not going away anytime soon, so she has two options: walk right out the door, or dive in and hope she doesn't screw something up. She gives IV an incredulous look.]

...Well then, since that is obviously not going to help us... are we going for it, or are we walking back out the door?

[IV snaps his head up in almost equal disbelief.]

Hey, are you seriously thinking about operating? [She wouldn't – shouldn't – be asking otherwise.] We don't even know what we're supposed to be doing. Have you ever heard of a surgery for in-law troubles?

[IV doubts the real doctors here know what they're doing, either. He isn't too attached to the patient, but he'd rather not cut up somebody, digital or no.]

Well-- I mean, what if that's how we beat the game? Like you said, there may not be an exit downstairs, right?

[She sounds a little defensive, despite knowing full well what a stupid, stupid idea it is. But, taking another lingering glance at the table, it seems like, if this alien is going to die if it doesn't get the surgery (whatever surgery that is), it being done by them is probably a faster way to death's door than not doing it at all. Right? And... it's not like she can even read the monitors...]

...On second thought... let's just go down and look for clues that might point us in the right direction.

[She has a point about this perhaps being some twisted "medical" challenge presented by ViViD. Just as IV's about to contemplate conceding based on that rationale, it seems Rio's convinced herself of his earlier stance. Still, he can't help but think about it now.]
