It's probably somewhere in the middle of those two extremes, and he rubs his shoulders a little bit like he's trying to get the sensation of those things touching him off. But he'll never feel clean again... ]

[ That's certainly not lip service - Shinpachi is a terribly honest guy, so if he thought Zack was being pretty pathetic? Well, he would be the first to inform the other. Instead he just lightly shakes his head, already starting to look around the room. ]

It just means we gotta find it now. You up for going around here? [ Considering he doesn't know what else they did to the "patients" here - he wouldn't put it past CERES to really infect them with something for "fun". Or whatever. As long as Zack feels good enough though, then it should be fine. ]

[She gives a tight nod as she continues walking. The alien isn't too far from them now, and Korra can't help but tense up. Being uncertain about an attack might actually be worse than knowing for sure, she realizes.

Just a few steps away now, and then--it walks right by them. What? Korra stops in her tracks, turning to watch the alien meander into one of the rooms they passed earlier.]

Is it a...patient?

[As bewildering as it sounds to her, the doctor walking into the room after it seems to confirm it.]

As long as it doesn't break anything, I'm fine. [ He listens, and is somewhat grateful that the guy is explaining it as simple as possible to him. Though now that he knows what that magic is, there's really no point in using the cold spray. He might as well wait it out since he doesn't actually have anything to counter that magic anyway and the pain isn't bad enough to render him incapable of further activity. ]

I don't suppose you have any healing magic that would be useful for this? [ Holding up his stinging hand to make his point. He frowns but it's obvious that his pain tolerance is fairly high. ]

[ Or rather, incoming monsters. There's more to them than expected but not any more than he couldn't handle. Before they could even come close, he starts shooting at them, but two escaped the fire line to attack Kanda. ]

[it's a good thing roxas's entire existence has been bad news bears, because that makes this seem less terrible in comparison. it's a problem, no doubt, but not the most devastating one he's faced.

not that it really makes things okay, by any stretch. regardless, he's not going to be quick to think that anything regarding CERES and being where they are is much else but lies. his trust has been broken too much by people in positions of power to be so optimistic.]

Slow going... I guess it must be, if nobody's really figured out their deal. [he pauses to consider this.] How long has this been going on, anyway?

They need to learn some balancing between discouraging those who are uninterested and unnecessarily tiring those who are working for it.

Goes... all weird?

[for a moment, roxas just tilts his head. honestly, everything already seems like it's "all weird" to him, so that sort of an explanation doesn't exactly do much to clarify anything. he folds his arms over his chest, looking at shinpachi quizzically.]

[ Hands on her hips, unsure of why she's saying yes at all. ]

[if it were possible for his expression to be nothing but a giant question mark right now, it would probably be his exact expression.]

That's... a reason to run away? [he pauses, thinking. is there something that important about kisses? what's the big deal? so many questions.]

You got hit by the needle, didn't you? Because... then it's probably like me. You couldn't help it. [logically speaking. though he really still has no idea why this is so upsetting to her.]

[yeah, he really doesn't get it. then again, he knows some people who aren't very funny when they joke, so maybe it's kind of like that. roxas is more or less 800% unsure about all of this.

he doesn't seem to pay much mind to her tone of voice, though. even if that familiarity is strange and nagging, it's hardly the first time he's ever felt anything like it—if anything, it's a lot less nagging than what he's used to. besides that, he's also got his eyes on the coat, which... well, it doesn't take him long to decide to put it on. he's used to being covered by one, after all. even if this coat is definitely not proportioned for his stature at all, and he's practically swimming in it.]

[he repeats those words back, almost pensive. even if he's still no yet anywhere near sure what the future holds, or if terra can help him, this is the closest roxas has had yet. so he wants to put his trust in that. it's just going to take a bit of time, though the assurances have a vaguely familiar ring to it.

but it's a thought he has to shake off for now. there'll be time to talk later, after they find and defeat the boss and start to get a better handle on the things around them. from what he's gathered, it's not like he'll be able to get to other worlds anytime soon, though it's definitely something to check out once they've gotten loose of ViViD. with terra ready to roll, roxas grips his own keyblades tighter, readying himself properly.]

I got it—I'm ready whenever you are, Terra. [this part, he know he can do, though he's admittedly curious to see how someone who trained with some kind of a keyblade master actually fights.]

W-well, yeah, but... [ Roxas... ] It's okay to hug people, but kissing... i-it's important. You're only supposed to kiss somebody you love!

[ And Roxas, she's sure you're very nice, but she's known you for all of maybe fifteen minutes. ]

I guess... I dunno, I've never been in a hospital before.

[well, at least he's honest, right? the word isn't a totally unfamiliar one, though the specifics of what actually happens in a hospital are kind of vague at best. this is what happens when you don't have memories of being whole, and when caring for illnesses and other issues are generally taken care of on their own. even a comatose state doesn't prompt the heads of the organization to send anyone to a hospital.]

But I figure there has to be something around. Even if it's not a sign, there's gotta be a clue somewhere that can lead us in the right direction.

[ That was definitely fast. Faster than she could imagine, truthfully. But she doesn't mind it in the slightest if she just simply trails behind him slowly, if only because she is not going to be running around much with what she's wearing. ]

[ The "survivors" thing takes him aback for a moment - after all, he's been stuck in this place that getting fresh out of that standard talk they give everyone feels like so long ago to him now. It's hard for him to slip in that sort of mindset again, even if he gets it after a moment and shakes his head. ]

This isn't real. It's virtual reality.
