Well, they definitely weren't formed during my youth. [Though in some way he felt as if his friendships were insulted and he didn't like that either. They weren't perfect, far from it, but they were definitely very important people to him.]

You know, that kind of stuff doesn't always work either. [He sighs. It's not like he hadn't tried, it was his main motivation after his change of heart, after all - aside from making up for his own crimes - to save them from the path they had taken as well.]

Though I guess it worked that one time when we convinced him that he didn't actually want to die by trying to kill him. [If that counts as shining light, though...]
