[ Doing things with Nonon on a Friday is almost becoming a tradition by now. It's usually a case of Nonon organizing something and then manipulating Ryuko into doing it as a favor for her, but this time Ryuko has taken the initiative and decided they should do something that the troublemaker likes instead.

After Nonon finishes another elegant performance at the opera house, she will be greeted by Ryuko on a borrowed delivery scooter outside. She's not particularly dressed for a date, wearing her casual clothes which includes a white buttoned shirt, a loose red ribbon and her stadium jacket. She feels weird without Senketsu, but somehow decided that it would be weirder if he were around... not that it's a date or anything!!

In any case, privileged girl Nonon is about to embark on a journey of junk food, arcades and batting cages. ]

[ Nonon might have strong ideas on the types of things that are fun to actually do on a Friday night, including fancy restaurants and opera houses! But Ryuko had gone and said that they were going to do what Ryuko wanted... and so she had easily agreed. Part of her actually liked the idea of batting cages though, seeing how she gets just a little too into it. And maybe she wants to show Ryuko that she's not just a spoiled rich girl, that she likes other things too.

The whole day so far has been nerve wracking. She performed well, leading her orchestra, but her mind wasn't there, for obvious reasons. Afterwards she didn't even stick around for the usual meet and greet, instead rushing to her dressing room, changing, and heading outside.

She's dressed casually, in a pair of pink sneakers, a black sweater, with a pair of tight green pants. And of course a winter beanie on her head. She isn't dressed up, despite the newness of the clothes (she went shopping). She went over and over what she would say to Ryuko when the girl showed up... but somehow had forgotten her scooter was not a motorcycle. ]

Took you long enough, tenkousei. I thought you were going to make me freeze. You sure you got a permit for that thing? [ Nonon just had been leaning up against a light pole when Ryuko finally pulls up, delivering her line flawlessly. Except not, it sounds more like two different thoughts mashed up together. ]

Shit, I messed up. [ She tugs at her hat with one hand, looking away. ]

[ Ryuko wishes it was a motorcycle... sadly, this was all she could procure on short notice. She raises an eyebrow at Nonon's rehearsed comment, though... and her little follow-up line. ]

What the hell are you talking about? Get on.

[ Was Nonon trying really hard to be cool just there? ]

[shikisha]

[ She was just nervous! Where her nights with Ryuko had her leading the way, this was all on Ryuko. Ryuko had asked her on a date, whether she admits that's what it is or not. ]

Shut up. [ With a weak come back, Nonon takes the few steps to swing her leg over the bike and sit on it behind Ryuko. ] I forgot you only had this thing.

[ Once on it she scoots forward, wrapping her arms around Ryuko, holding onto that jacket of her's. Nonon as usual smells something like candy or flowers. She likes the feeling of it though, she realizes, being up against Ryuko, her back seems... really strong. ] ...Where we going first?

[ T-That's a little too tight, Nonon... not that Ryuko is protesting. Having the conductor pressed against her like that, catching a whiff of that sweet scent again, it jolts something within Ryuko that makes her almost yell out her response. ]

Batting cages!!!

[ Yeah, she decided she needs to hit something to blow off all this steam first, and slowly starts accelerating the scooter until they're well on their way. ]

...Are those clothes new? [ She's pretty sure she knows Nonon's wardrobe by now. ]

[shikisha]

[ Nonon might be surprised to feel that Ryuko body is... really strong. She's never hugged her or anything before, so this is the first time they've ever been this close. Even during the dance she was taking the female's role, and only had her hand on Ryuko's shoulder. But when she's like this she can feel a lot more...

Which is extremely embarrassing to think about, so she tries to ignore it. ]

Hey, you said casual so I had to go and find something new! [ She speaks a little loudly to be heard, part of her hoping that Ryuko doesn't chew her out for talking so close to her. ]

That's not what casual means!

[ Casual is just wearing your normal clothes, according to Ryuko. She does flinch a little when Nonon yells out, but it's understandable with all the wind blowing in their faces. Arguing on a bike might not be the best idea, so she'll just neutralize her little barb with a follow-up comment. ]

It looks cute on you.

[ ONLY BEING DIPLOMATIC HERE OK. ]

I don't have that many outfits here yet!

[ She knows exactly what Ryuko means, but she hasn't had years of shopping and limitless funds to build up a wardrobe here in Cerealia. ...Except her closet is already full and Ryuko's probably seen it. But then, wearing something new for a date is important, even a casual one, to a girl like Nonon.

...But that compliment just makes Nonon squeeze a little tighter, without meaning to, hiding her blushing face on Ryuko's back. As if she could see it anyway. ]

You look cute... [ She tries to return the compliment but fails, only muttering it. But before Ryuko can likely finishing asking what she said, Nonon barks: ] I-I always look cute!

[ They're lucky Senketsu isn't here, or else he would have to endure Nonon smothering him. ]

Even when you're screaming "you bitch" when you're gettin' your ass kicked?

[ She swears she's playing nice. ]

[shikisha]

I didn't know we were bringing up each other's worst memories here. I remember you running around the school in your blue striped underwear!!

[ And a lot less, but her underwear wasn't her kamui. She squeezes tighter, pressing herself closer to Ryuko's back. Of course at her height, she most definitely is sure she can hear Ryuko's heartbeat... ]

[ She stops rather abruptly at a red light, hoping Nonon would bump herself against Ryuko's back for that comment. ]

W-Why would you remember something like that?! Shit!

[ All your doing is pushing her chest into you more Ryuko!! Oh and for that Ryuko's getting a boob grab!! By accident of course. ]

Watch where you're going!!

[ Was it though?! They're getting strangely intimate and they haven't even had dinner yet. Speaking of accidents... ]

Ack--!! Would you quit groping me, you'll cause an accident you dumbass!

[ As if that's the only problem with Nonon feeling her up. ]

I-I didn't do it on purpose!!

[ Wow Ryuko you've had girls ripping off your panties and grabbing your boobs before! You never got weird when Mako did it!!

...Her boob did feel good. But while they are at the red light... ]

[ Look, there's a time and place for boob grabbing, and this isn—wait, no, it was weird when Mako did it, too!! But of course Ryuko's boobs feel good, they're way bigger than Lady Satsuki's according to Mako's family (who are obviously experts at this). ]

[ The bike starts up again, with Ryuko quietly blushing to herself. She's worn this jacket before, but rarely gets compliments in it.

They're almost at their destination. ]

[ Nonon will just have to figure out the right time and place for it then. Not really, she actually didn't mean to grab her boobs at all, but it was an abrupt stop!

And maybe Ryuko would realize that if Nonon likes the way she looks in that jacket... that maybe Nonon's been noticing her in it before today. It's hard to say it's not a date now though, give they've both complimented each other's clothes.

But for the rest of the ride she's quiet, just... silently enjoying the ride. A motorcycle would probably be a little more exciting, but she'll take what she can get for now. And pick on Ryuko about it more later. ]

[ NO, IT'S STILL EASY TO SAY THIS IS NOT A DATE. (just accept it, ryuko...)

Time passes, and eventually they find themselves in a sports centre, where people can play all kinds of ball games indoor and outdoors. Their spot in particular is a batting cage, located outside underneath the stars, lit up by several stadium lights around them.

It's quite late in the evening since Nonon was picked up after work, so they're one of the last few people remaining at the facility. That awkward tension between them has cooled off since the bike ride, at least on Ryuko's behalf for now, as she has her bat in hand. It looks like she's ready to go first.

She needs to go first, with all that pent up frustration inside her. ]

Ever swung one of these, Jakuzure?

[ Seriously, Senketsu should almost be here just so he could tell Ryuko how dumb she is. Though, hey, Nonon doesn't mind taking up that mantle in the kamui's absence. Just give her a few moments to calm down from that little trip of hugging Ryuko and saying embarrassing things.

Once they get under the lights, surprisingly alone except for maybe the sound of one or two people finishing their swings, bats cracking, Nonon feels a little more calm. She's happy to wait outside the cage with her fingers interlaced in the holes of the fence. Just the two of them, and they certainly aren't talking about CERES... ]

No, but I'm pretty sure even a chimpanzee could figure out how to use one. [ She's teasing, seeing how she follows up with: ] It says the record is 500 feet, do you think you can beat that, Miss Showoff?

[ Nonon just points up at a scoreboard that shows that week's highest score, along with the batter's score, currently set at zero. Nonon's teasing in her challenge as if the raise in pitch doesn't make it clear enough. ]

[ Luckily Ryuko picks up on her little tease, smirking back at her companion. She'll take her up on that challenge as she gets in position, gripping the bat with both hands as she waits for her ball. ]

Are you seriously callin' me a showoff? You're the one who gets off on everyone's love and praise, aren't ya, Miss Center of Attention?

[shikisha]

[ Honestly, Nonon like teasing Ryuko, and likes being teased back. She's the only person outside of Houka or Uzu that she'd accept that from. ...And she's never going to be attracted to either of those boys for obvious reasons. ]

Ara ara~. [ Her voice is so smug it's insufferable. ] The difference between you and me is that I only give the people what they want, so it's only natural I take the spotlight.

[ She shrugs, tilting her head to the side, obviously so proud of herself. Then an idea hits her. ] How about a bet? Whoever gets the highest score gets to ask the other any oen thing? And they have to answer.

[dishonorstudent]

You are such a shit-talker, you know that? [ Despite what she says, it does appear like Ryuko is enjoying their interaction, too. ]

I'm almost tempted to lose just to find out what Nonon Jakuzure wants to ask little old me.

But I won't.

It's a deal. [ She gives Nonon one last chance to back out of her challenge, otherwise she's ready to swing her bat any second now. Confident as ever. ]

[shikisha]

[ That first question just gets a laugh from Nonon, still leaning against the cage, smiling. ] Don't pretend that you don't like it, you're not any better, Matoi.

If you're tempted to skip straight to the finale I won't stop you~. [ Nonon has an idea for what she would ask, but she's kind of... interested in the exact way as Ryuko, what she would ask Nonon. ]

I'd tell you to think it over, make it count, but I don't plan to lose. Oh, I think you're up.

Hell, if I lose to some to some upper class chick who's never held a bat in her life, you'll get the full exposé.

[ Ryuko thrives on a challenge! Compared to taking on the entire academy, or facing off the Elite Four in a gauntlet match, Ryuko figures this should be a cinch. Getting into position once again, she waits for the pitching machine to fire off the first ball, which Ryuko lets pass right by her.

That was mainly to gauge the machine and calibrate her swing, but also for a little suspense. ]

Watch this--!!

[ And now it fires off a second ball, which Ryuko's bat meets with precision. The way she swings her bat so wildly is not unlike in her tennis match against Omiko Hakodate. She doesn't just swing with power, she puts emotion into it: anger, excitement, desire.

...Desire to win that is!

The noise of the smash rings throughout the fake stadium, and Ryuko's score reads 794. ]

[ Ryuko can't be that dumb, she figures. Dumb enough to think that Nonon won't ask something embarrassing, something that pertains to her. "Do you like me?" or "Do you want a girlfriend?" or even "What am I to you?" types of questions go through her mind. Of course, winning against Ryuko will be difficult, but at the same time...

She's gone into fights to lose before. It happened the first time she confronted Ryuko herself. Ryuko got away, but Nonon never intended to win, only collect data from Ryuko's fighting for Inumuta and Satsuki. In a way... if she loses this she's ready to answer what Ryuko asks. ...She thinks, naively. ]

Ara, was that too fast for you? [ She jokingly teases the other girl as that first ball goes by. Then the second one meets the bat, the crack filling the air. And as soon as that score goes up... she ends up eating crow. ] ...That was pretty good I guess. [ She mumbles, glancing away. ]

[ Twirling her bat like it's her scissor blade, she doesn't even feel bad that she practically cheated, being a Life Fiber monster and all. She just grins back at her date-- companion. ]

Oops? Did I break the top score? Geez, how did that happen? Hey, Jakuzure, for my question... should I ask you how embarrassed you are now or should I wait after your turn? I can't decide.

[shikisha]

[ ...Dammit. That wasn't supposed to happen. Even if she foresaw losing in her future, she didn't expect Ryuko to BREAK THE ENTIRE RECORD. Not in one hit!! She scrunches up her face a little, taking her off hands from the fence, to cross over her chest still looking away... after taking one look at Ryuko cute, obnoxious face grinning at her. ]

False humility doesn't suit you, Matoi. [ She sounds SO SALTY. ]



[ Ooh, and while she's turned away, Ryuko takes a ball right in the back of the head. Weird, she hadn't moved, how did the machine hit her? ]
