Technology becoming a hassle? Rip didn't care. She could do just fine without it. But, when the blackout started... She got excited. Her excitement grew when the sounds of creatures stalking the darkness made themselves known to her. A faint brush against her shoulder.. the feeling of breath against the nape of her neck and turning around to see that there was no one there. Every little bit called to her to go out and play! Rip didn't need to think twice about what she wanted to do, the darkness was a vampire's friend and she was just as much at home in it as in the light. Perhaps.. a little more so.
After making sure her dog was secure within her sparse apartment, Rip took to the streets. It was time to have a little fun her way... no strange computer games! Rip was on the hunt to scare people while she could~. Sadly, it was the only type of hunting she could do at the moment... not the type she truly wanted, but, a hunt was a hunt no matter what limitations there were.
Rip could can be found all around the place lurking in the dark and stalking random people. Does anyone feel as if they are being stalked~? Do they hear strange humming coming from out of nowhere~? It might be Rip... who knows~.

!!
Gintoki hadn't managed to make it back to his apartment before the power outage after leaving his apartment for dinner, and it was a struggle to even know where he was once he reached the the edges of the food park. He'd barely finished his meal, and all he wanted to do was go home and take a rest, still a little beat up and bruised from ViViD.
He'll strain his eyes trying to look into the dark, also trying to ignore the wisps of shadows, both pale and dark, at the corners of his vision. This place. . . wasn't it too high tech for something like ghosts? The idea of ghosts was just ridiculous, right?
Admitting it or not, ghosts were one of Gintoki's greatest fears, and so as he makes his way slowly through the shopping district in the direction of home, he'll start, twitching a little at even the slightest sounds.
It wasn't any one feeling, more like the accumulated feelings of the whole exhausting experience that finally has him calling out in frustration. ]
Hello? Hello! Oi, hey, if you're out there and you're a ghost I need you to stay like, like 10 feet away! If you get any closer than 10 feet you'll be sorry! 20 feet is pushing it, assholes!
[ooc: hope this is ok. . .]
Re: !!
[Rip had been sticking to the shadows, drifting around the city in the dark. Once the creatures hiding in the dark realized she wasn't bothered by them, they had started to ignore her which, suited Rip just fine.
However, hearing someone shout into the darkness about ghosts staying away~? That was hard to resist. It drew Rip like a moth to a flame as she made her way towards the origin of the shouting... There. She paused in an alleyway not far, hiding completely in the shadows as she stared out at him.
Sometimes being a vampire had its perks~. Her eye sight may not be the greatest, but her hearing and sense of smell was... and what she got was a human. Who was afraid of the dark~. Or what was IN the darkness. Rip grinned before she started moving towards him. She made sure to stay deep in the darkness, only letting him see motion coming close to him from the dark before stopping, hiding and beginning to giggle.
Lets see how he does with disembodied voices~.]

Tch, go make out somewhere else already. It's dark for a reason, so if you don't wanna get caught just sh-shut up already. It's not funny when your mom walks in on you, you know.
[Yeah, it's not like a ghost was laughing at him somewhere. Or like, laughing at his fear, or something. Gintoki was talking pretty loudly, to himself, maybe trying to make himself less scared? Nah, he wasn't scared. He'll speed up, steps sounding against the road now as he hurries towards home.]
no subject
The giggling died down and she let it fall into silence without giving him a response. Let him worry about what it might have been. She shifted in the darkness, a tall form gliding through the shadows must like a predator stalking her prey and that was exactly what she was~.
Rip followed after him, silent for the most part. Though when ever he stopped, he might here someone playful humming in the darkness. The song was playful, up beat and... slightly ominous in the darkness.]
no subject
He'll keep his steps measured even when he hears the humming, though one hand rests on the wooden sword's hilt, but right now he's not going to say anything else -- just giving a swallow and being more determined than ever to act like nothing was wrong.]
no subject
[There's amusement in the voice, though the laughter might not be due to as much mirth as the voice's owner would like to claim. That humming had given him the willies until he figured out who it came from.
Damn dead people.]
Jus' out for a stroll or y' got somewhere t' be?
no subject
I'm out for a stroll in zhe beautiful inky darkness zhis wonderful blackout has provided. It almost feels like home~. Besides, I vas itching for a little hunting und this provides a perfect cover for it.
no subject
Rip was having fun stalking him~. ]
no subject
. . . Oi.
[He'll stop. He's terrified, but he'll stop and put on most nonchalant attitude. After all, even if he was afraid, whatever it was, it was just screwing with him, and that was more irritating than anything.]
Can't you sing a better song? There's one, and it goes like. . .charaaaa hecharaaaa . . . hmmmmm hmmm. . .
[He'll start walking, humming the song to himself and singing a few of the words.]
. . . urutora-z . . . hmm hmm hmm. . . Aye - yi yi yi yi sparking-- Hmmm hmm hmmm hmmmmmnnnnmmmm fly awaaaaaay. . .
[And he'll keep taking those careful steps home, humming his own tune.]
no subject
But.. if he wanted something more interesting. She might think about it~. For now, she kept up the same eerie upbeat tune she had been humming. Though now.. a haunting verse or two came floating out of the darkness in German. The song itself wasn't important, it was the disembodiment that was~.
Her foot steps continued to echo behind his for some time, coming near and even sounding ahead of him at times. Rip was having fun with this~. At one point she even dared to come in close enough to brush a finger tip along his arm.. or let her long hair ghost against him in passing. Lets see how much longer he could last before freaking out.]
no subject
OI, NOT FUNNY! SERIOUSLY NOT FUNNY! I'm gonna go home, and you're gonna go home, and we're gonna pretend like I never saw you and you never saw me! Got it! Go home and make some hell instant noodles and sit down and think things over for awhile! Dont' be that kinda ghost! Oi, are you listening!?
[Yeah he's still pointing his wooden sword in the general direction of behind him; maybe he hit her, maybe not. It's dark.]
no subject
She took a few steps back, twirling a bit before coming to a stop a few feet in front of him. She tilted her head and snickered. He was on his ass on the ground with only a little wooden sword. How pathetic~. Sorry, but she was not going ot take him seriously in the slightest. He stank of fear so why would she?]
Oh but ve are just getting started my pretty little playtoy. I'm not about to leave you so soon.
no subject
She might not have been able to see the irritation on his face as he gets to his feet, but maybe she'll hear it in his voice; he'll also start walking again, taking a few steps back before turning around.]
Playtoy? You wanna play? Go get a robot dog. Or better, yet, the pet store is full of dog toys. Play fetch by yourself.
[He's rude, but only a jerk would scare someone in the dark, Rip.]
no subject
I am zomething much scarier zhan a stray dog. Besides, I prefer my chew toys to scream.
[Her footsteps started following his again before fading into silence. Rip was still following, only fading back into the shadows. Occasionally she would make a sound or move just out of the corner of his eye.
No one ever said she was a nice vampire. There are reasons she and the chief of police have a violent history together.]
no subject
Ain't gonna argue that. So can y' eat these shits goin' bump in the night or are they all digital or whatever?
no subject
Still, he wasn't completely at ease, not by a long shot. Just because whoever this person was wasn't a ghost - probably - didn't mean that they weren't going to be a pain in the ass. He'll still firmly hold his sword, looking back after Rip's taunt.]
Aah? Most dogs, you know, they're happy enough with the squeaky kind.
[As he's talking, he has the thought to take his CeresVice out and open it up -- didn't it have a light? He'll turn it on, then turn around all the way and shine the small light at whoever was talking to him. At least, in the general direction. Well, at least he had a flashlight.]
no subject
He wouldn't find it easy to say the least~. Her footsteps fell silently as she made it hard for him to pinpoint where to flash his CeresVice for light.
Maybe she was a ghost after all~. Or at least a Monster stalking the night.]
no subject
[And trust her, she didn't.]
no subject
Oi oi oi, you know, what's with someone who follows people in the dark. Are you bored? Are you a stalker? I really don't need another stalker. I seriously already had a stalker on Earth and she was annoying as hell.
What's your deal, hah? [who are you]
[He'll ruffle at his fluffy white hair some with his fingers, shuffling along the street, practically talking to himself unless she cares to answer.]
no subject
But Poko alerts him, that what is following is not one of the ghosts, but a flesh and blood person, all solid. ]
S-stop hiding, already.. We know you're there.
no subject
[Namur crosses his arms over his chest and leans against a ragged concrete pillar, crossing his legs casually.]
Would y' wanna?
no subject
Footsteps continued to fade in and out around him. Though, now she was getting a little bored... so, time to turn up the fun.
Her voice came from right next to his ear when she spoke next.]
My deal iz zhat I haf not had a proper hunt since I got here~.
no subject
I vould razher eat a Warg zhan vatever these things are.
[She doubted he knew what that was, but, he could probably figure out by her reaction that it didn't exactly taste pleasant. Rip would say that the beasts were an acquired taste if anything.]
no subject
Though, she was curious to figure out how they knew to begin with... It looks like Rip found someone interesting to toy with tonight.]
no subject
He'll nearly drop it, fumbling with it then snapping it closed as he catches it. Come on phone; you're his only light right now, and that was damn unnerving. He'll catch his breath a little before complaining bitterly, glaring with some disgust at the darkness. ]
Now you're being a bully; an annoying bully. What a pain. . .if you wanna play a game, at least wait until the lights come on. Someone will trip and hurt themselves, right?
[He really hated being messed with.]
Or like, maybe we can play hide and seek? I'll count, and you can hide, and I'll find you. If I can't find you, you win. What about that?
[and she will win, since he won't even look. On the other hand, his steps will pick up considerably after the creepy ear thing. Ugh.]
no subject
A match sparked to life just beside him, giving a dull illumination to a white gloved hand and the sleeve of a nice suit jacket with the hint of a pale purple dress shirt just under it. If he turned to look, he would see the eerie light glinting off glasses and a very large fang filled grin hovering near him. Even in this light, it wasn't hard to tell that Rip was tall, a good 6'2 in height and very much... not human.]
It's more fun to play in the dark.
[And then the match went out.]
no subject
And had really, really sharp teeth. He's already backing away when the flame goes out he's just going to make a run for it. He knew from yesterday that lately, even the monsters from ViViD could hurt you enough, and he wasn't going to stick around any longer.
Maybe running from someone who said they wanted to hunt was a bad idea, in hindsight. ]
N-nevermind! You count first!
[Yeah, he's really running. The most bravest protagonist.]
no subject
Kagemitsu turned, following Poko's line of vision. He's glad he has his swords with him, because Poko is still hissing. ]
Come out from there.
no subject
Let her fun begin~. She would terrorize him and run him to exhaustion and panic before giving up her chase. Not once would she touch him~. Let his fear overrun him at every turn! That is what she wanted from him.]
no subject
Rip turned her attention to the boy with the sword and eyed it warily. Did he know how to use that thing? Probably. She was right, this would be fun.]
Now vhy vould I do a zhing like that~? It's more fun to keep you in zhe dark.
no subject
He'll keep going for as long as he can, but eventually he'll have to stop, doubled over as he catches his breath. Looking around as much as he can, he'll at least be able to tell he's in at the edge of the gardens; the sky is more visible here and he can also see Cerealia's two moons, so it isn't nearly as dark as it had been on the streets of the city.
The gardens meant that his apartment building also wasn't too far away, once he's caught his breath, Gintoki will walking again, unless whoever - whatever - was bothering him was going to talk again.
He'll even start humming and occasionally singing the words to that song he was humming earlier, just to take his mind off of being a little nervous. There was still the odd shadow or shade, ghosts - or something made to look like ghosts - in the darkness.]
fly awaaay [lots of humming here; maybe he just hasn't bothered to learn the words . .or something. . . ]. . . ch-ch-charaaaa. . . heccharaaaaa . . .
[And sometime during that, a call is accidentally made. He's not so awesome at this technology thing.]
no subject
Picky, picky.
[He's obviously teasing. Or trolling. It's kind of the same thing in practice when you get down to it.]
Find anythin' fun yet?
no subject
He scowled into the darkness, searching for the source.
Because it's impolite to stalk people.
no subject
This kid wasn't very smart was he? Rip shook her head and snickered before delving into the greenery with him. In the moonlight her movements were easier to see as it glinted off her glasses and nearly illuminated her pale skin. It gave Rip a ghostly quality... when she wasn't hiding in the darkness just out of sight.]
no subject
[Like the exquisite taste fear gave the blood after she was done terrorizing her victims, sometimes even slowly breaking bones or tearing off limbs... Rip missed those days.]
I've found a few play toys so far. Zo many people are afraid of vat goes bump in zhe night that it iz such easy pickings~.
no subject
Otherwise, Rip's just amused and staying hidden in the dark. Lets see how good he is at playing a little game of Marco Polo in such darkness. Rip shifts her position, silently stalking around him and his look out before speaking again.]
Vould you razher I give you my name und zhen tell you to run~? Vould zhat be polite enough for you?
no subject
He turns toward her new location, and pets Poko to help him calm down a little. ]
What you are implying is not.
no subject
no subject
Vat a pity, zhat is about as polite as I get on nights like zhis~.
no subject
no subject
[He winks, then stands up straighter, cracking his head from side to side with a couple of shrugs.]
Think yer boss's comin' t' check on yer work.
[A massive treelike creature turns its head toward them, sniffing the air. Blood drips out of its mouth. Looks like it already got its dinner started.]
Wanna go say hi 'fore I knock its shitty block off?
no subject
[About the time he's straightening up, she heard the monster approaching and smiles in delighted.]
I only haf one boss und zhat isn't it. So please, be my guest und get zhis little part started.
no subject
[He sounds not at all upset about the situation though, sniffing at the creature and then making sure he has Ifrit junctioned up to help him. If you gotta get rid of an annoying tree, there's no better way than fire. Namur doesn't give the creature the benefit of the first move, he simply darts for it, slipping underneath its massive claws and throwing an uppercut from directly beneath its giant maw. Flames spark on impact, flashing bright in the darkness.]
no subject
[Tease as she might, Rip was studying the tree monster and looking for weaknesses. It almost reminded her of some of the creatures she tended to avoid back in Ruby City... except less intelligent and not so human looking.
Now, how does a vampire harm a tree? That was the questioning she was pondering as Namur rushed in. Was that a spark? Fire? She blinked and focused more on him.
Admittedly, the fire made her a little wary, but, it.. was a lt better than what she could do to the thing in front of them.]
no subject
no subject
To bad zhis creatures izn't flesh und blood.. I could really uze a drink right now~.
[With only a few moments of recovery she was dashing into the fray carving at the tree creature and nimbly avoiding its vines or hacking at them. Rip was a predator enjoying a very exhilarating dance of predator and prey~. The creature just didn't know it was her prey, yet.]
this is the slowest reply
Hey, I wanna know something, if you're even there anymore. Are you still there, shadow lady?
Are you, you know. . . real, or are you part of the computer game?
