[ The broadcast comes bright and early for those paying attention to their CereVices; the man who appears on the screen is strikingly pale, white-haired and piercingly blue-eyed. He looks young, no more than nineteen or twenty and he's dressed in a crisp black and white suit. He stares into the screen for a long moment, long enough to be, frankly, just a bit uncomfortable.▶ ACTION.EXE | IC: 1/26
And then white eyelashes blink and an awkward, unsure smile spreads across his face. He lifts a hand to fix his tie and speaks. ]
This is Mosley.
[ The smile drops, leaving him with a blank expression once again. ]
CERES has decided in a show of good faith to open our doors to you. I have been given the task of, [ He lifts his hands to emphasize with air quotes. ] "being your tour guide." If that is what I must do, so be it. The lazy worm does not get the apple, after all.
[ He looks down at the tablet on his desk, giving it a few taps and suddenly an icon appears on the bottom right hand of the video. ]
That link will bring you to a listing to make an appointment. You will be given a time. Show up promptly or do not, it is no matter to me. The tour will leave ten minutes after your given time and that will be that. Tours will only last a few hours so you needn't worry about the rest of your day. You will certainly return home in time to catch the latest episode of [ Air quotes again. ] "Banana is the New Black." I hear there's going to be a cliffhanger!
[ A pause and he looks oddly thoughtful. ]
I suppose you could also steal it off the internet? [ Blank again. ] Which would be wrong. Our lawyers will contact you if you do that. Do not.
[ And then another of those awkward smiles before quickly turning into something a bit startled and he taps his tablet again, ending the video. Replies to this feed have been disabled, unfortunately. Seems like someone isn't feeling very chatty. It's a miracle. ]
[ The next day, that Monday, those who take Mosley up on his offer will find that him standing there right in front of the main CERES office building, waiting. It’s with that same disconcerting smile that he unlocks the door and ushers them in.
Welcome, all of you, to our lovely CERES!
The group will find themselves standing in a lobby. Clean white walls and floors, a bright blue rug leading towards the elevators on the far wall, and a white reception counter. At the counter are two CERES robots answering calls and directing any visitors (though the lobby seems quite empty today) and on the wall behind them is a hologram of the CERES logo for all to see. Mosley stands in the center of the carpet in his usual suit and claps his hands together, putting on a smile. ]
Welcome to CERES.
[ And then the smile drops. Voice flat, he continues. ]
There has been... talk over the past few months that we at CERES have not been working 24/7 to help you, our clientele, return to your homes safely and soundly. There has also been... talk that we do not do anything. That this entire company is a farce, which is honestly quite hurtful to both me and the other hardworking staff at this company. Mr. Vincere had his way of running this place but Ms. Recreare is fond of a more hands on approach. We want to share that approach with you.
[ He spreads his hands to indicate to the building around them. ]
CERES has many fingers in many jars and they've all been sealed tight for a while. We would like to open those jars. So once again, welcome to CERES and please follow me.
[ After that, Mosley turns and begins to lead the group off. ]

Their village wasn't that amazing of a place, but I guess it wasn't too bad. They didn't seem to like our technology at all, though. We had to put everything away that even seemed technological.
Still, when we finally met up with their leader, she --
[ And, as soon as they step past an invisible line in that village, everything, for a moment, glitches...
And then they find themselves deposited right back outside in the first hallway they were in, with the doors.
If Peko checks, she will find that she still has the paper that she had taken, despite this having been a "virtual" diary. ]
no subject
Cerealia is full of glitches. still, it wasn't a total waste]
It's nice to know the glitches are just as prevalent in CERES. [sarcasm of course, accompanied by the rolling of his eyes]
no subject
[ He says it in mild disappointment, but he's mostly glad to be back here to be honest. ]
What are we gonna do now? Should we split up and gather more info from those doors before Mr. Mosley returns or stick together? I don't suppose just going home is an option for anyone either... [ Even Jaune realizes this is a rare opportunity for them to learn things on their own. ]
no subject
[ Yeah,Yang's gunning for finding out more. ]
no subject
[Peko does drop a hand into her pockets to check, and with a brief flash of surprise, pulls out the paper.]
However we decide to split up the areas... please make sure to collect any evidence you can. Even if it does not seem important at the time.
...It may not be a bad idea to take pictures with our Cerevices, as well.
no subject
just caaaasually aligns himself right next to Peko while the others are still weighing their options, as if he already picked his companion. It probably wasn't very casual at all. ]
no subject
Since this one here-- [a pointed glance at Jaune,] --seems to require a little additional protection, I'd be happy to be the third in this group.
[Peko probably doesn't need any help with him, sure, but perhaps a little discouragement would be appreciated all the same.]
no subject
Well, it looks like Team Jaune’s all filled up!
no subject
he turns to Yang, offering her an appraising nod. he's still not so sure he likes the whole idea of splitting up, but they don't have a lot of time, and he really wants to find out as much information as he can while he has the chance] I suppose that leaves you and me. [and England is not going to make things awkward by hitting on her, thank goodness] Which door do you want to take?
no subject
[Jaune...
Peko just gives Rio a nod. She doesn't seem to completely realize what the other girl has indirectly done, instead grateful that there'll be another pair of eyes to watch over this weirdo.]
I'd like to take September. The diary will be out of order, but I want to make sure we can gather as much information as possible before Mosley -- or someone else from Ceres -- returns.
no subject
[ She's a little disappointed she won't be able to see the hilarious shenanigans that are sure to ensue with Jaune and his 'harem', but her new partner seems like a good guy. ]
no subject
I guess we branch out here? Yang and England can keep threading in the above one?
[ Don’t worry, Yang, we’re sure you’ll hear all about it. All jokes aside, however, Jaune hopes they’ll all get to see each other again on the other side. There’s no telling what’s behind these doors after all and the only reason they got out of this last one was due to a glitch? Man… ]
Be careful you two, okay? I have a bad feeling about these diaries.
[ With his parting words to Yang and England, he directs his group towards the September door… wondering if they’ll find more useful clues about why a person disappears for no reason from this Colony. ]
▶ CHECKPOINT THREE A.SAV
. . . CONTINUING TOUR.EXE. . .
[ They open the door, and immediately, they are tossed into the thick of things. The area is clearly greek inspired, and also clearly ViViD, and for those who have been networking or have been here awhile, there are some familiar faces that can still be seen around Cerealia. These familiar faces are, of course, entirely focused on the dragons.
You may want to be too, because the dragons certainly notice you, though the other people don't seem to at all. ]
September, X9%U. I'm really not sure what's going on anymore, but Mr. Vincere seems to know, so at least that's good? No, really, who are these people?
no subject
While is was unclear to him what year the June diary took place in (new world calendars are hard!!), this one at least tells him that this September log occurred only a few months ago. Maybe if there had been a December door, he could have seen Pyrrha again... but his melancholy is soon interrupted once a bunch of scary dragons come into view. ]
Uh, g-guys? Is it just me or are those dragons looking right at us?
[ If this were Team JNPR, he would take charge and form some kind of plan of action by now, but the reality is he doesn't know much about his comrades fighting abilities yet, nor has he done anything to earn a commanding position in the first place. For now he just swallows his fears as he grips Crocea Mors, waiting for the others to suggest what they should do. Either way, this is no time to be a failure. ]
no subject
[And some of her other acquaintances too; Komaeda, Hueng Soo, and Kaoru. But really, Hinata's the one Peko's focused on.
...Though obviously no one hears them at all. Well, except for the dragons. Like it or not, Peko's reaching behind her again to draw her katana, yanking with a sharp jerk to leave the sheath in the bag so she's ready to fight as soon as any of the dragons approach.]
We'll need to be sure to lure them to the ground for Arc and I. [Her voice is quiet as she lowers her weight, ready to spring and dodge if necessary.] Kamishiro, can you handle that? We can concentrate our efforts on one to take it out as quickly as possible, until we determine how strong they are and if they can be faced by one of us alone.
no subject
Peko you sweet, gorgeous tropical fish, stop giving Jaune a case of the doki dokis at a time like this. Your love is too intense!! At the very least it’s giving him a sense of confidence that he needs to see this fight through – real confidence, not the affirmations he repeats to himself in order to convince everyone that he knows what the hell he’s doing. ]
I guess we’re really gonna fight these things, huh? O-oh boy… okay… I got this… time to show off the results of my training!
no subject
I wonder, is there any particular reason you volunteered me to stick my neck out?
[She twirls a lock of hair around her finger; a very human gesture for someone decidedly non-human right now.]
Here I was thinking perhaps dragons might like a pretty man better. He'll taste how he looks, and the like...
no subject
You can fight at range with the energy I saw against the tentacled monster. I cannot leap high enough to catch one mid-flight, and I do not think he is capable of much, either.
[S...orry, Jaune.]
So if one can be persuaded toward the ground...
no subject
Guys? N-Not that I mind being the bait, but whatever we decide, we best do it now!
no subject
Oh, and they breathe fire, which it now demonstrates by spewing a stream of the stuff at Jaune and Peko on the ground.
That's nice.
As if oblivious to their peril, the intern continues to speak. ]
Well, better the code people than the rest of us, I guess... Mr. Vincere seems really set on this business venture and all, and we need them for it to work.
Still....don't they seem a little weird?
no subject
[ Thankfully his shield is big enough for him to cower in absolute terror behind it, but the flames are so hot that the heat of the shield practically singes his arm. The damage would be worse if not for his Aura, but that won't last forever and he's still new to controlling it.
He's close enough for Peko to jump behind it as well, unless she already dodged the dragon's attack. Either way, it looks like they're the bait?? Ouch. ]
no subject
[Oh, that is nice. Looks like both of them are the bait now. Peko glances at Jaune and Rio just for an instant to make sure she doesn't have to shove either of them out of the way, then dodges in the opposite direction with a diving roll. It's close enough that she can feel the heat against her back as she holds the flat of her blade in such a way to avoid impaling herself on it, then jumps back to her feet.
Hopefully Jaune's shield and Aura is enough to catch the dragon's attention so that Peko can at least try to leap up to go for a foot or a wing on its downbeat, if it's close enough that a mostly-normal athletic human can reach. Otherwise, she'll just focus on dodging its fire.]
no subject
Fine. I suppose I'll just have to out-bait both of you.
[Her Barian body, she thinks, is durable enough to withstand a couple rounds of it, or so she can surmise. Even if it freaks her out and reminds her of... certain unfortunate incidents. It's still something she can take if she tries... right? In an effort to make the dragon think she is the biggest immediate threat here, she lobs off a few blasts at its face and eyes -- if she blinds it, all the better, but if not, then she'll bring out some bigger, icier guns.]
no subject
Unforutnately, said flail will cause its clawed foot to lash right out into Peko's path as she tries to attack it.
A moment later, it does decide to focus on the biggest threat here, which it now considers to be Rio. The dragon roars again, and then lifts off, wings beating as it somewhat erratically tries to fly at her. It's off, though; it seems the attempt to blind it worked. ]
