[Immediately following the tour, Mosley had kindly ushered group three to the hospital for their sustained injuries. Peko, having gotten herself hit with the sharp end of a not-so-virtual dragon's claw, had needed to be rushed to get several nasty-looking gashes cleaned and stitched, along with some smaller burns treated. Swords aren't much good against things that can fly and breathe fire, after all.

Some time later, she can be found in the wing tended to by human and humanoid doctors (no androids here, please), seated quietly in one of the beds with her eyes closed as if she's asleep. The heart rate monitor is beeping quietly and steadily, and there's an IV hooked to her right arm to replenish some of the fluid she'd lost from bleeding everywhere earlier. All in all, though, she looks fine! If the ripped and bloody sailor suit in the corner and the fresh white bandages covering her left bicep and peeking out from above the cut of her hospital gown over her chest are any indication. At least the gown is cute, with happy little robots printed in a pattern along the fabric. To promote organic healing, of course!

Before the Cerevice goes down, though, she'll be answering calls with voice and just generally trying to rest and recover in the hospital. She's fine, though, really--!]

[More warm feelings... at least this time, the heartrate monitor doesn't freak out as she rests her head back against the pillow and closes her eyes. Rest would be good for her, he's not wrong... now she just has to try to actually fall asleep, which is easier than it seems. Apparently she was a lot more tired than she'd thought.

Please go have a snack or something, Kuzuryuu, she's probably going to be passed out for at least an hour or so.]

[Nope. Not moving. He's not really thinking about food right now. Though he does end up dozing off for a little bit himself. Not too long, just a short twenty minute or so power nap. He wakes back up before Peko though, and proceeds to amuse himself by flipping through one of the magazines from her bedside table.]

[Not that it's particularly interesting. MAN IF ONLY HIS CEREVICE WASN'T A BRICK RIGHT NOW.]

[Peko just lets out a small, unhappy noise at Kuzuryuu's observation. She knows! She's trying to relax, really, but it's hard when there's a fluffy thing right here. But being tense definitely isn't doing her stitches any favors, and with a pained grimace, she has to stop and take a deep breath, trying to force herself to calm down. This is fine, she's gotten to touch San-D before. This is totally fine.

Soft soft soft soft soft. Her hand is shaking a little as she reaches out, expression unconsciously starting to morph into that weird smile of hers as she puts all her focus into remaining as relaxed as possible. It's really kind of pathetic.

Peko's clearly having an off day even by her standards. No one would blame San-D for seeking shelter.]

[Dear lord, Peko...has it really been that long since the last time Kuzuryuu saw you attempt to pet a fuzzy thing? And have you somehow managed to get even worse about it?]

[He wants to help but he's really not sure there's anything he can do about this. He glances over to Gundam, because surely the breeder is more useful in this sort of situation. Maybe he can keep San-D calm or something? He's admittedly kind of curious about the "help" Gundam mentioned earlier. Right now, he's not convinced it's done any good...]

[Well the first thing he's going to notice is that Gundam has gone a tiny bit tense himself. That smile is so unsettling.

So damn unsettling.

But no, everything's fine. San-D doesn't immediately bolt or anything and Gundam makes a few kissy noises to get her attention. Not looking at that unsettling smile will do wonders to keep the hamster calm all on its own and so having her turn around to look at him is just what they need. Yes, that's a good girl. Let him pet your chin with his thumb while you sit there and let Peko get your back.

When she is able to touch you. Come on Peko, you can do it.]

[What is your magazine about, bocchan? It's just over an hour before she blinks blearily awake, momentarily disoriented by the unfamiliar sight of the hospital's ceiling above her. Almost immediately she's reminded of where she is and why she's here by the sharp pain of tense muscles tugging against her stitches, her face scrunching up with a grunt of pain. Okay, time to be awake.

Just a moment after that, and she's quickly turning her head to see-- yep. He's still there. And that, at least, makes her kind of feel good.]

What... [And she has to pause and swallow, because now her mouth is dry. Hang on, let her get back to work trying to sit up.] What... was on the computer?

[Incredible.]

Are you sure? I wouldn't mind, I assure you. It's the least I can do.

[...For making the dragon put a nice gash into your shoulder, is the unspoken ending to that sentence. Still, the air doesn't get any less awkward, and Rio wonders how to ease things.]

...You know, for a high schooler, you are quite skilled with a sword.

[Get it together, Hajime, he tells himself, sternly, and he rubs his hand over his eye again before he raises his face. This is different from Haven. It's different, he already knows that.]

Yeah. Just because they can see everything we do, doesn't mean we're powerless.

[Kuzuryuu glances up from the magazine at the grunt, putting it down once it becomes obvious that Peko is actually awake. He chuckles a little at the question. Jeez, Peko, you don't waste any time do you? Though...he supposes he already knew that.]

You want something to drink first?

[You sound a little parched.]

[Give her a break, she's had some very trying few days.

Having San-D turn around is definitely the right move, though. Now that she's not being looked at, it's a little easier for Peko to focus, her expression instead sobering into something deathly serious as she reaches with one careful finger.

Boop.

Hopefully the touch doesn't startle San-D too badly, because as soon as she's booped the hambutt, she's trying to gently touch her fur with the rest of her fingers. Soft...]

[She just nods as she forces herself upright, carefully turning her head to try to find the pitcher of water the nurse had left behind. It's here somewhere... completely out of her reach, of course.]

If it is not too much trouble...

[Because she knows by now if she tries to get up and get it herself, he'll throw a fit. Not... that she terribly minds it, but she'd rather he not.]

[Nope, there isn't any startling! She is simply enjoying the love she is getting from her hamdad. What good chin scritches these are! And, pretty soon, fur touching. Man she is in heaven right now. All of this attention. It's basically the best.

The only thing that could make it better would be sunflower seeds but hamdad is saving those for later.

Gundam is just watching with an approving smile. Yes, good. That scary smile is gone and, while she looks far too serious for something like petting a hamster, this is an improvement!]

[Peko Pekoyama is a queen of awkward conversations... in that she normally doesn't know how to continue them, at all. As far as she was concerned, the conversation was over when she said she didn't need anything.

The continuation isn't unwelcome, though, and Peko glances back to her, lips curving into a bit of a puzzled frown.]

It's my talent, [she says simply. There's another bit of pause before she remembers that yes, elaboration is something that has to be done in normal conversations.] ...Which is to say, I have been practicing kendo since I was old enough to hold a blade. My skill is enough that Hope's Peak Academy admitted me as the Super High School Level Swordswoman...

...but as you were able to see, a sword is not enough in these kinds of situations.

That's true.

[She nods, though instead of looking at him, she's looking down at her hands instead. Peko'd like to cross her arms, but that'd hurt too much thanks to the stitches, so instead she can only keep her fingers splayed on her lap.]

...But that is not going to be an option for everyone.

[Kuzuryuu only has one eye, after all. It was her fault he lost it, and she'll do anything to make sure he doesn't lose the other, too.]

[Peko did you just boop the hamster's butt? Really? Incredible.]

[Kuzuryuu just watches the two of them, crossing his legs and folding his arms with the smallest of smiles on his face. Look at you go, Peko. Touching something fuzzy without making it freak out. You did it.]

[But more importantly than that...Peko with friends?? He's just going to take a moment to appreciate that aspect of this exchange. Because it always warms his heart to see that.]

[Look bocchan, maybe someday you can boop the hambutt just let Peko, and understand.

Peko can't quite help but let out a quiet noise of excitement though her teeth, a weird little grunt almost like the kind you'd expect a fighter to make right before lunging to attack... though instead of attacking, she just lets her fingers go up a little bit higher until she's running her fingers along all of San-D's back in careful, gentle pets.

She is in heaven. If only she could be distracted from the small fluff for just a second, seeing Kuzuryuu smiling would dial her mood right up to eleven.]

[Of course it's not trouble, come on Peko. Who do you think you're talking to here?]

[While she's sitting up and getting situated, Kuzuryuu locates the pitcher and pours Peko a glass of water, handing it to her once she's made herself comfortable.]

[Booping a hambutt is one of life's greatest joys.

You're doing so well Peko. San-D is just slowly kind of flattening out in his hands a little, so relaxed and enjoying the pets so much.]

Be mindful of her ears and head.

[He's quiet when he tells her this, just giving her a little warning. Much better to just pet her back.]

[Oh no it's a hampancake. Cute. This whole scene is cute, shit. SHIT. Kuzuryuu almost feels like he has to look away to preserve his dignity.]

[He doesn't do this though.]

[Even if you're both embarrassing as fuck.]

[She just murmurs a quiet 'thank you,' as she takes the glass, sipping from it carefully. Man, not having the use of one of her arms really sucks, otherwise she'd be able to take the pitcher and pour it herself without worrying about the glass tipping over. This is a Pain.

But while she's sipping at her water, she's waiting patiently for him to continue his story. She went to sleep and woke up again, so what's stopping him?]

[Peko takes Gundam's command incredibly seriously, shifting her pets back to make sure she isn't anywhere near San-D's head. Hampancake... she is truly blessed this day, letting out another one of those weird Peko sounds as her hand starts to shake a little. This is so intense...

It's hard to see, but ever so slightly, the corners of her lips are starting to curve into a genuine, non-terrifying smile.]

[He's waiting till she's fully awake, duh. What's the point of starting an important story when she's still in the process of waking up?]

[But she seems to be fine now though so he guesses he may as well get on with it.]

Alright, let me just start by saying that the damn thing was password protected and we wasted way too much time trying to guess the password.

[They wasted so much time trying to guess the word "butts". Truly they are an embarrassment.]

But once we finally got in, we found only three things on the computer. A bestiary, a Flora and Fauna Registry, and something labeled Elementals. No points for guessing which one we went through first.

"Elementals" was a document about what sounded like either people or creatures with powers matching the four elements: water, air, earth, and fire. CERES seemed to be looking for them for some reason, though they weren't having the best luck from the sounds of things. The water elementals were listed as impossible to find. The only thing they knew about them was that they exist and they can breathe underwater. The air elementals weren't easy for them to find either, but they at least knew where to find them. Apparently they live to the north, and from the sounds of things, the atmosphere wouldn't be breathable without them. They didn't say how hard it was to find the earth elementals, but they said that they were the easiest to negotiate with. It also said that they have an "unerring sense of direction when it comes to locating things. And then...there were the fire elementals. CERES finds them troublesome, probably because they're the easiest to find but want nothing to do with whatever CERES was trying to offer them. They breathe fire when they get excited or pissed off.

[Sound familiar?]

There was more to the document, but I didn't get a chance to read it before that creature broke out of the tube. And I already told you what happened after that, so I didn't get a chance to look at the other two documents either.

[ Ohhh boy. That's enough to warrant a: ]

Ohhhh boy. [ A verbal sigh! But Yang finally bites into the apple, chewing thoughtfully before she swallows and speaks up again. ]

Jaune, believe it or not, is the leader type, so he always feels bad if something happens to a group member. I don't know why Arthur was apologizing for that, since he got injured too.
