What: Ai Thao relaxing and exploring the Gardens after her job. Then training with Atena and later, Archer.

[If there's one perk from a mundane job such as gift wrapping, it's that Ai Thao is able to take whatever scrap wrapper was left over for herself. Luckily for her, she's collected enough to amuse herself with origami, specifically the making of paper cranes. She's located in the Gardens, enjoying the lush plant life while, sitting near one of the fountains, deeply concentrating on folding her makeshift origami paper.

When enough cranes have been made, Ai amuses herself by making the cranes fly around her, using telekinesis making it a visually striking sight. When she makes them float back down, one of the paper cranes float away into the water...

And all of a sudden a pair of huge jaws coming from an alien fish swallows it up, startling the young woman.]

Ah!! Was I not supposed to do that??

Alright, I'm almost ready Athena!

[Ai had taken up Athena's offer for some basic physical training and she intended to go through with it. Sparring and possibly causing bruises counts as bonding doesn't it? Ai's all dressed up in some newly purchased gym clothes and tying up her long hair so it doesn't get in the way during this particular session.

She makes a few light stretches, before asking her friend (still getting used to that by the way) a simple question:]

You know, did you ever have to use self-defense before? I suppose having to work in law poses some dangers, but I'm not sure if any would be physical.

[THIS IS IT THE FINAL BOSS. On a different day, Ai's back at the gym. She's been meditating, sitting on her knees, with her eyes closed. Her psychic aura is tight and controlled. When Archer arrives, she opens up her eyes. She's ready to train seriously and to improve herself. But most of all, she's ready for...]

... Spring rolls! You brought them along, right?

[Tenka doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. He was about to sneak up and surprise her but then there... seem to be really rabid fish in the water, so maybe not.....]

Ai-chan, maybe you should... get away from there.

[Though he still snorts faintly as he points at the rest of the remaining cranes.]

You can take your friends with you too, right? That was really cool!

Oh! Tenka!

[She looks at him and then at the water.]

W-What if paper is bad for the fish??

[Yes, she's worried about the fish's health...]

[ . . . . . . . . oh boy.

He pauses for a second before he actually laughs a bit more. But if he's not going to move to stand up just yet, he's going to encourage her in that direction and offer a hand all gentleman-like.]

I'd rather the paper be bad for the fish than for the fish to be bad for you.

[emotive]

[When he offers a hand, she blinks, but gathers the cranes in her arms before making her way over to him.]

If you put it that way... Thank you for being concerned for my well-being.

[And she adds a polite bow of the head at the end of her sentence, feeling that it was appropriate to do so.]

[Alright, that's better. Still though he's just shaking his head.]

It's only natural for a cute girl like Ai-chan!

[Completely earnestly!! Cool it, Tenka. But regardless he's continuing on without missing a beat-]

But really, be careful. This place has all sorts of weird surprises like that....

[She's 18, SHE'S AN ADULT!! Dang, she feels herself getting easily embarrassed, but she tries not to show her reaction. Instead Ai replies to the last statement.]

I've been informed that there are plenty of dangers in this world, so I guess that was one of them wasn't it? It sort of disturbs the atmosphere of the rest of the gardens.

[NOT ADULT ENOUGH TO THROW OFF TENKA'S ANIKI TENDENCIES.

But he's just shaking his head at that, even as he goes to find a nice spot under a tree to sit under instead. Maybe that won't be life-threatening?!]

That's putting it lightly. Kids wander through here! They could get really hurt....

[She joins him under the tree, tucking her skirt under her legs and placing the cranes in her lap.

Oh no, he's got her thinking...]







Has anyone ever fallen in and got eaten...??

Don't worry about that.

A-Are you sure!?

[sunshrouded]

I'm sure! I'm more than sure!!

[even if he doesn't know the answer himself but honestly-]

Girls shouldn't have to worry about things like that!

[Ai glances wearily at the water.] I can't help, but worry anyways...

... I'm sorry. This is the first time we're meeting face to face and I'm burdening myself with these concerns.

[ . . . . and he just shakes his head slowly before offering a smile.]

I think you're just too curious Ai-chan.

But you shouldn't have to apologize for being yourself anyway.

[Not having to apologize for being herself huh? It's a novel thought...]

Mm. That could be it.

Anyways, I'm happy that we're able to meet up either way!

You and me both! I prefer talking to someone normally anyway.

[Though as he glances over at the cranes that she brought with her, he seems to remember something very important!!]

By the way, was that you? Making the origami fly?

[Ai nods.]

I mentioned last time that I have special abilities. I was just playing around back there though.

[She's aware she doesn't have to be secretive about her powers, but she'll only talk about them if asked.]

[WHOA WHO TURNED UP THE SUN except Tenka's just really excited.... He'll be honest about that at least.]

That's really cool! You were just doing that on your own, with your mind?! Have you always been able to do that?

[emotive]

[SO BRIGHT... But hey, it's a better alternative than doubtful distaste which is common where she's from.]

Yes, that's right. I've been able to do so ever since I was young.

[sunshrouded]

[Definitely nothing doubtful or distasteful here, rather he just keeps grinning.]

Is it something special to you? Or did it run in your family....?

[Family... About that... Ai keeps her composure and shakes her head.]

It's not too uncommon where I'm from, but the type and potency of mind based abilities vary. For instance, I have a sister who can also move things with her mind, but her specialty is something else entirely.

[Huh! Tenka nods then in understanding, rather impressed with this place he's never even heard of before. But he's also thoroughly distracted by something else:]

You have a sister too, Ai-chan?! What's she like? Older? Or younger?

[They were made around the same time period and were the same age, so yeah, twins.]
