What: Ai Thao relaxing and exploring the Gardens after her job. Then training with Atena and later, Archer.

[If there's one perk from a mundane job such as gift wrapping, it's that Ai Thao is able to take whatever scrap wrapper was left over for herself. Luckily for her, she's collected enough to amuse herself with origami, specifically the making of paper cranes. She's located in the Gardens, enjoying the lush plant life while, sitting near one of the fountains, deeply concentrating on folding her makeshift origami paper.

When enough cranes have been made, Ai amuses herself by making the cranes fly around her, using telekinesis making it a visually striking sight. When she makes them float back down, one of the paper cranes float away into the water...

And all of a sudden a pair of huge jaws coming from an alien fish swallows it up, startling the young woman.]

Ah!! Was I not supposed to do that??

Alright, I'm almost ready Athena!

[Ai had taken up Athena's offer for some basic physical training and she intended to go through with it. Sparring and possibly causing bruises counts as bonding doesn't it? Ai's all dressed up in some newly purchased gym clothes and tying up her long hair so it doesn't get in the way during this particular session.

She makes a few light stretches, before asking her friend (still getting used to that by the way) a simple question:]

You know, did you ever have to use self-defense before? I suppose having to work in law poses some dangers, but I'm not sure if any would be physical.

[THIS IS IT THE FINAL BOSS. On a different day, Ai's back at the gym. She's been meditating, sitting on her knees, with her eyes closed. Her psychic aura is tight and controlled. When Archer arrives, she opens up her eyes. She's ready to train seriously and to improve herself. But most of all, she's ready for...]

... Spring rolls! You brought them along, right?

To make this short, it essentially comes down to this. Are you an offensive or defensive fighter?

[She has to think about this for a second or two.]

... It depends on my distance. From afar I'm offensive, but when I'm in close range with an opponent, I have to be the opposite. Overall, I think it's safe to say I'm a defensive fighter.

Good enough. I have two weapons for you. One is purely offensive in nature and defending with it is rather difficult. The other is more defensive in nature, making it hard to go on the offense with.

[He holds out both of his hands. In one appears a rapier and, in the other, a spatha.]

[ She's already ready to strike, facing Ai with her martial arts stance. When Ai poses the question, she laughs. ]

I actually have! But I can't tell you the story until after your training. You gotta bring me down or else!

Oh, y-yes! I'm prepared.

[She also gets into a stance, but pauses to pipe up.]

If you won't go easy on me, I'll do the same! I can heal up any bad bruises we may get, just so you know!

[ She's mostly a defencive fighter (hence why she's a defence attorney HA just kidding), so she waits for Ai to strike first. ]

Alright! Let's do this!

[And without mincing anymore words, Ai tightens her focus letting a few seconds pass before throwing the first punch.

While she is technically a lightweight, it's the speed behind her first strike that needs to be watched!]

[Tenka doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. He was about to sneak up and surprise her but then there... seem to be really rabid fish in the water, so maybe not.....]

Ai-chan, maybe you should... get away from there.

[Though he still snorts faintly as he points at the rest of the remaining cranes.]

Oh! Tenka!

[She looks at him and then at the water.]

W-What if paper is bad for the fish??

[Yes, she's worried about the fish's health...]

He pauses for a second before he actually laughs a bit more. But if he's not going to move to stand up just yet, he's going to encourage her in that direction and offer a hand all gentleman-like.]

I'd rather the paper be bad for the fish than for the fish to be bad for you.

[When he offers a hand, she blinks, but gathers the cranes in her arms before making her way over to him.]

If you put it that way... Thank you for being concerned for my well-being.

[And she adds a polite bow of the head at the end of her sentence, feeling that it was appropriate to do so.]

[ Woah that's scary. Kagemitsu instantly picks up Poko, who was on the way to the water. Let's not, okay? It's probably not good for tanuki to go close. ]

[ And after the initial "protect Poko" instinct, he turns to the girl with concern for her well-being. ]

Maybe staying away from the water completely would seem like a good idea, nee-san.

I'm not quite sure. I wasn't aware that there would be anything so dangerous in a public space like this!

But you're right. I'll move away right now!

[Oh cute, tanuki!! Ai Thao moves away from the water, with all of her paper cranes in her arms.]

There shouldn't be, but with this place I guess it's something to expect.

[ He'll help her out, while Poko jumps back down on the ground. But follows them away from the water, instead of heading toward it. ]

[ Yang doesn't tend to visit the Gardens all that often, but the one trip with Naoki had made her a little more willing to add it to her jogging routine, as a prettier background to her stretches. She hadn't expected to see a familiar face, though.

[He doesn't usually pass through the gardens on his way home, but on occasion, he still tries to make a better mental map of this place. It's been peaceful, lately, but that means very little as far as he's concerned.

But even for someone like Sousei, the sight of those cranes floating around her is visually striking enough that he stops.

And then there is that gigantic fish, and that's really just terrible. Why is this place terrible.
