![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

[She just wanted to go home, was that too much to ask for? Apparently so since no amount of heel digging had done anything to dissuade her hosts (kidnappers? All that stuff in the powerpoint couldn't possibly be--) from shoving her onto a bus, and later from being shoved onto a ferris wheel. Not that she put up too much of a fight, mind. She's still a little shell-shocked.
The quiet, traumatized expression doesn't leave her face even once she's seated, Mio pressing herself against the wall of the snowflake and staring blankly at the floor, one hand touching at the ugly bruising around her throat. It's all a bit much for her mind to handle, though after a moment she finally looks ready to say something.] Why--
[And then the lights go out, and Mio just heaves a shuddery, long-suffering sigh.
And then the weird breathing at her neck. She launches herself out of her seat immediately and, probably, onto the lap of some other unfortunate soul stuck on the ride with her.] What was that!?
[Bonus]
[Dear god did it ever end. What do you want for Christmas, little girl? the stupid robot had asked, and Mio had glared and said in a very loud, clear voice:] I want my sister!
[The box in her hands clearly did not house her sister, and she glared at it with open disdain. Her grip tightened and with a frustrated noise she tossed it away from her. Regardless of whether it hits a person or the ground, when it pops open and out pops the, er, "gifts," Mio makes a squeaking noise of shock and embarrassment.] Wh-what!? I didn't ask for-- [paNIC]
[Other]
[Amusement parks mean food, and Mio is starving. Horribly so. If she calculated right, almost a week passed since she'd gone into the village, and even if it didn't feel that long, it had still been quite a while since she last ate.
So she surveys a counter of food, her stomach growling terribly loud as she does.] Ugh. [Mio turns red, casting a glance to whoever's next to her, sure they overheard.] S...Sorry. Um. How do I buy things here? [The technology is a little bit beyond her 1980s self.]
[other!]
You use your credits with your device. [ Shows his to her, and offers a pleasant expression. ] What would you like?
no subject
[What does she want, though? Her stomach growls again and she grimaces. She wants an actual meal, but junk food will have to do for now.] I don't know. The popcorn looks good, I guess. [Everything looks good for someone who can't afford to be picky right now.]
no subject
I've never had that before. But if you ask for whatever you want, the money will be deducted. [ The technology is kind of mind blowing. ]

Well, maybe asking someone wouldn't be so bad?
And sure enough...!]
You got me, I don't know either! [Smooth Anna] But I thought maybe I could ask someone and figure it out!
no subject
It can't be that hard. Right? [STARING DOWN A CORNDOG... She doesn't even know what that is, but it's food so it has to be decent, right? Mio hugs at her stomach with a wince. At this point tealing looks pretty good.]
no subject
Of course not! I think it'll be easier than it looks! I mean, how hard can it be to these weird looking things anyway?
Trust me, you won't ever go hungry once she figure it out!
[Easier said than done. Now that she was at the vendor, she was staring at it.] Uh....what does this do? [She said before it prompt the kisok to do just about........!
Nothing]

Well... [ She glances away, feeling uncomfortable as she's latched on by the other girl. ] I don't know. but calm down, it's probably fine.
[ Probably. ]
no subject
Probably fine?
...Is that you breathing like that? [please tell her it's someone actually here.]
no subject
No, I'm pretty sure it's not.
[ Hitching a breath, she takes several glances around. It's too dark to tell. ]
Let me see if I can't brighten the situation. [ That was a pretty bad pun, but it fits. She doesn't necessarily like being in this darkness either, which is why she reaches out for her cell phone and turns it on. At least that should be a reliable light source... ] Do you see anything?

Allow me to show you! Ah, what do you want to eat? [It's okay, he's got a bunch of jobs, he's like a sugar brows.]
no subject
What's a corndog? I guess I could try that.
[suGAR BROWS PLS.]
no subject
Ah... a corndog! Sounds like a delightful choice!
[He then calls over to the attendant.]
Two corndogs, please! [He'd like to try one for himself as well! And then he makes sure she watches as he demonstrates the credit transaction.]

It's really easy! You woke up with a card, right? You have some points on it already, and you can just use those points to pay for things! But you'll have to be careful until you start working, since there's not much you can do if you run out of points. ...Well! I guess you could play ViViD, but- [A rapid handwaving motion.] -that's another thing entirely.
no subject
Oh. I don't... I was jut going to go to school, I guess. [She barely feels well enough for that, let alone taking up a job, but she supposes she has to do something while she's here.]
ViViD's the... game thing, right? [The powerpoint and everything was all a little confusing.]
no subject
[He's just the One-Man Energetic Blonde Parade here, apparently, rattling off explanations like he's had to give them hundreds of times. He hasn't, of course - he's just good at hopping headfirst into conversations...]
And yes, that's ViViD! Some people use it as a training simulator but some people join competitions or complete tasks for points.

[ ah. that sure is a girl jumping onto his lap. not that he's not used to others using him as a lifeline (hi Zelos) but he was a little focused on the breathing down his neck that he can't help but jump like three feet in the air when he feels Mio land on him.
of course, he won't push her off. he will opt for grabbing her shoulders instead: much more secure. ]
Hey-- take it easy! They're just messing with us, it's okay.
no subject
Why?! I just got here! I haven't done anything! [WHAT DID SHE DO TO DESERVE THIS besides a few things bUT STILL]
no subject
I don't know. Just don't let it get to you, oka--!!
[ oh god thaT SURE WAS THE CHAIR MOVING UNDERNEATH HIM ]

phase i
Alas, here he is after having been manhandled onto the ride by overly pushy robots rounding up the newfolk, staring intently out the side of it and waiting for this all to be over so he can go home again.
Things never go easy for him though, and the wheel grinds to a slow halt; he shoots Mio a look, to see if she's got any idea of what's going on, but it doesn't take a psychic to know she's in the same boat as him. ]
Is it--
[ Broken? Who knows, because she's cut him off launching out of her seat, and he's got a lap full of random stranger in a dark room at the top of a ferris wheel with nowhere to go. ]
Yah!
no subject
Probably she should be more embarrassed about that too, but she's too startled to think much about it.]
What's happening? [Her voice is tight, but at least she slides from his lap to the seat, just clinging to his sleeve now as she tries to figure out what's going on-- or more importantly how to fucking stop it.]
no subject
other!
Huh? Oh it's easy! You just tell them what you want!
[She finishes her order, taking the hotdog and soda she bought and turning back to the other girl with a grin.]
Like that! I could get you something if you're hungry and not sure about it though!
no subject
[She looks uneasy, but she doesn't particularly want to make this little girl waste money on her. So Mio steps up to vendor, only to hesitate and step back again, embarrassed.] I don't really know American food that well. What's good?
[Burgers and hot dogs are pretty standard even for her, but who knows if they do anything weird with them here??]
