![]() It's been a whole month without any new arrivals. Who knows why? If you ask CERES, they won't bother with any in-depth explanations. They will simply claim that none of the code out there has been responding to their recovery methods, so they had to rework a lot of their technology. However, after several weeks of grueling work, they have finally experienced success! A fresh new batch of faces is coming in, and to celebrate their arrival and the real upcoming holidays, CEO Julius Vincere has arranged for a Christmas-themed carnival for all to enjoy. Those who arrive will wake up in Cerealia and be given a long, boring explanation and powerpoint as per usual before being ushered onto a bus (there is no escape. The robots will force you onto the bus one way or another). You will be unwillingly carted to the theme park where you will be immediately assaulted by a giant array of lights followed by several rides that you can enjoy. After you disembark from the bus, one of the snowman robots will be waiting to give you tickets to the rides and show you around as part of the Grand Opening. The amusement park will remain open for the rest of the month of December so anyone can visit as they please. The first couple tickets will also be on the house for new arrivals, but the rest will have to be bought with credits, so choose wisely! (Or try and sneak into the rides -- then face the wrath of the snowman robots and their snowman firearms :D)

Jaune Arc | RWBY (ota)
[ When the sled came to a sudden stop in the tunnel, Jaune was propelled out it and now finds himself surrounded by childhood heroes trying to kill him. Not only that, there are people still trapped in the sled as more Santas try and swoop down. He realizes that he must desperately get over there, not just to rescue everyone, but that sled is his only ride back! ]
Hang in there! [ Before Jaune can reach the sled, he's forced to block an incoming attack with his shield, and counters by slashing against his enemy, only to notice that his attackers have... a metallic interior? ]
Oh, you've got to be kidding me! [ More robots. He's gonna have to swing harder against these things. ]
(bonus)
[ Nah, Jaune opens his present as soon as he's done with Santa-Bot. ]
Aw, what's the big idea? This isn't what I wanted! [ He holds up the second item like it's some kind of weapon. How puzzling. ] This piece isn't even as long as my sword, why would I use this?
[ He also inspects the other item in his hand, looking less offended. The "kiss" part has his attention more than anything else for now. Otherwise, he's pretty oblivious to the rubber that comes with it, or anything else it may imply. ] ...I'll keep you.
bonus
Naoki's just kind of watching him inspecting the items in his hands with a look on his face that's sort of a mix. There's amusement in there, along with other things like enough sympathy to spur him into talking.]
...I think if you're gonna keep that, you should put it somewhere where no-one else will see.
[Helpfully.]

This isn't the same kind of mistletoe you're thinking of...

[ He looks down at the item in his hand one more time, though this time he's noticing a few more details about it.
Yeah, he literally froze mid-sentence. ]

[ She seriously wants to yell at something for making people uninformed about that sort of thing, but at the same time she kind of doesn't want to tell any more people what it is.. How annoying... ]
no subject
Don't worry, I know my stuff, I'm kind of an expert at weapons. [ He isn't. ]
no subject
There should be a button or switch to turn it on.

phase iii.
Sousei managed to not be propelled out of his seat, but somehow, it wouldn't feel quite right to leave that kid to flail around with his sword and try to...kill all of these robots...
...Hm.
Sousei does finally push himself out of that seat, striding towards Juane with calm, simple strides--and any santa bots that try to get in his way are slammed away with a sword he hasn't even bothered to unsheathe.]
Sheathe your sword--blunt damage is more affective in ridding yourself of them.
[Besides which...it really just can't be good for the sword to try to cut through metal.]
no subject
Damn it, this guy is way cool. ]
Y-Yeah, I can't exactly do that, man! I'll lose my shield otherwise and in case you haven't noticed, I really, really need it!
[ Because his shield turns into a sheath when not in use. Because what is practical. ]
no subject
Why.]
...Fine. Then focus on using your shield to cause blunt damage when you can.
[It's blunt force that tends to knock them down and out, Sousei has noticed in his time here, even if he's painfully unfamiliar with robots otherwise; for now, though, he glances over at his new companion.]
We are not going to fight all of these. Concentrate your efforts on returning to the car.
[Sorry about the orders, it's the only way he knows how to speak in battle scenarios.
But Sousei will even start them off, stepping forward to slam his sheathed sword right at the join that connects Santa head to Santa body. The screws and bolts can't withstand that sort of precise pressure, and then a Santa head is popping off to fly...elsewhere. Hopefully not to where it'll hurt someone.]

Bonus. FOR GREAT DORKATUDE!
It's blunt too. Wouldn't even pass as a dagger... Looks like it does something though... maybe you should try turning it on?
[Yeah, sorry Jaune, trying to decipher just what kind of practical purpose a "weapon" like this serves is overriding her excitement to see you. You'll get a hug later, don't worry.]
no subject
[ He's overcome with a mix of happiness and confusion; he didn't expect to see her here at all. ]
Ruby! It's me! Jaune! Lady killer!
no subject
Yes, I recognize you Jaune. [Have a shoulder punch.] Kind of hard to forget.
You survive the amusement park without getting too injured?

After the debacle of free chocolates, spa coupons, and battle panties, Shinji's stayed far far away from any free presents dished out by the kind(??) citizens of Cerealia, and though he's not particularly inclined to intermingle with the new batch of arrivals, he does feel compelled to dish out some common sense.]
Wouldn't keep it if I were you. Things here try and kill people all the time.
[Death by...condom?? Sure, worse things have happened.]
no subject
Wait, what, what do you mean about things trying to kill us all the time?
no subject
A couple weeks ago, shit started flying around tryin' to kill people. Mops, tree branches, lamps. Lasted a few days, but it was annoying as hell.
[Especially since he was clobbered a few times.]

phase iii GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN
After Jaune cuts one Santa down, Yata quickly rushes to his side. ]
Hey! Need a hand?
no subject
Huh? Oh, no, it's okay. [ clash! ] I figured I'd just take it easy, [ clash! ] enjoy the whole holiday atmosphere, [ clash! ] maybe rethink my life choices. [ thrust! ]
--OF COURSE I NEED A HAND HERE, C'MON MAN!!
no subject
Comin' right up!
[ On cue, a red aura surges forth from Yata's body, dancing around like violent flames, and he charges at the nearest incoming Santa with superhuman speed and no hesitation. In two blows, it's down. The victory seems to be short-lived when another Santa sneaks up behind him, but his reflexes are faster than his senses. The robot joins its comrade when Yata breaks its torso, then another gets dragged into the mess when he kicks yet another snowman's head off.
He returns to Jaune right after. ]
How many left?

bonus because...i'm a terrible person
[It's probably rude to ask a stranger about their gifts out of the blue. But Rhyme doesn't intend to open hers until she gets home, just like they were instructed. Still, she's curious. So when she hears the boy's exclamation she walks over, missing the first item but looking curiously at his hand for the second one.]
terribly great
[ He's already had some assistance with figuring out what these items are by now. How can he make it sound less confronting to the girl, though? More importantly, he doesn't want to give her the wrong impression! ]
Hmm. Do you.. know what a mistletoe is?
no subject
[Rhyme picks at his gift again, and think she can see something green. What an odd gift to get.]
What did you want instead?
