[ He feels like that should be part of his introduction. He knows this guy isn't human, so he feels he should give him the same kind of information about himself! ]

[Since pretty much nobody called him his full (alternate) name even after he gave it to them, just psyduck Saiduq.]

It is a pleasure to meet you, Sorey. Although...you are no ordinary human, are you?

But, ah. ] Aah, yeah, I guess so. [ He says, being the Shepherd. ] How could you tell?

[ He doesn't exactly look all that special right now, in this weird clothing. Nor does he even have his Seraphim with him.

pretty sure that'd be correct! since he's got higher psychic/spiritual ability than normal humans and can see seraphim easily. also he's the shepherd so he's Special ]

[ Oh, wow. He can tell that kind of thing? Sorey's impressed, and he laughs, a little embarrassed thanks to his wording. ]

Really? Well, I guess you're not wrong. I'm a little different from other humans, where I'm from.

[ "A little different" being that he can see and hear people that normal humans can't, and also fuse with them because he's a Shepherd, um ... It's just weird to admit, he guesses. It feels odd to say something like that about himself. He never really thinks of himself that way, afterall. But if this guy is pointing it out and noticing it about him, he supposes it can't hurt to confirm what he's saying. ]

[Aside from the spiritual power thing, anyway. He's always curious about other humans, and Sorey could be an intriguing case.]

[ Mmnn, how does he explain it, he wonders ... There's of course his ability to interact with the Seraphim, but maybe being the Shepherd might be more important to mention? It feels like this is hard to explain, to someone not from his world, though. ]

I'm ... something known as the Shepherd. It's an important role where I'm from. [ Hmmm. ] And it means I can do a lot of things others can't.

[ He's so used to being constantly recognized as the Shepherd by other people, it's weird to come out and tell someone about it. But he'd prefer to keep his role vague, if he can. It's understood that the Shepherd is an important being where he's from, though it's gotten mixed reception — especially the part concerning his power. ]

[No wonder he sensed a bright light emanating from this human boy. He might not know Sorey's circumstances, but to have the title of Shepherd (doing things others can't), to shepherd others, guiding others...was a large responsibility, no matter what. Especially given what he's seen over the course of thousands of years. It's hard, to hold the weight of the world on your shoulders. It's hard and Saiduq himself worries, regrets sometimes, that he might have forced people to do just that, out of his own supposed selfishness to see humans prosper, to see them properly defended against supernatural threats.

These responsibilities to protect freedom can become the very chains that bind them. His smile fades slightly, and it is with a flash of guilt in his eyes that he responds, ephemeral and only visible if one were quick and perceptive enough, but there.]

That is quite the weight you bear on your shoulders.

[ Sorey is able to at least notice something is a little off with Saiduq now, and his own expression drops momentarily with Saiduq's statement. Yeah — Sorey is responsible for some very important things, especially after the things he's learned recently — and he can't even do anything about it, while he's stuck here. But he's never let the weight of his situation deter him, and that includes even now.

So his smile picks back up as though it was never lost. ]

Yeah, but I've got my friends with me! [ Something they've had to hammer into his head, but something he appreciates immensely. ] I'm not alone in it, so the weight I bear isn't as heavy. So it's alright!

[ So don't look so down, Saiduq! Because Sorey is just fine! ]

[His eyes widen temporarily (was he that transparent? Or was Sorey simply that perceptive?) but he regains his earlier calmness. He chuckles, the melancholy mood, however brief, disappearing entirely.]

...I'm glad to hear that. Friends are truly a wonderful thing, aren't they?

[To have friends who will support him, with his burden...]

They must shine brightly as well.

[ He's glad to see that mood disappear and a happier one replace it.

And he nods. ] Yeah. [ That's for both of those things. ] I'm really grateful to have them with me. [ A pause. ] Or, I did have them with me. I'm not sure where they are now, but they've gotta be here too ... [ He's determined to keep his hope that he'll find them here. He can't be alone! ]

Did your friends come with you here?

[ Saiduq seems to also hold friends as important things, so Sorey hopes so. And if his friends are here, then that might be proof that Sorey's are, too. ]

A few of them, yes. I have already encountered them, fortunately.

[Although they're still missing quite a few in their team of 15...but it can't be helped for the moment, so he won't bring that point up.]

Do you require assistance in finding your own friends?

[Because he could help. Consider this a small favor, a whim, because he happens to like protags people with potential, people who shine this brightly. The fact that Sorey's been nothing but nice and pleasant to him is a bonus.]

[ He is, really. Both because it means his own are probably here somewhere, and because that means Saiduq won't have to be without his.

But — hmmm ... The problem with Saiduq helping him is that he's not sure if Saiduq would even be able to see most of his friends ... He's a different species from human, but ... can his species see the Seraphim? ]

Aah, yeah, I'd really appreciate the help, but — I'm not sure if you could ...

No, no, that's not it! [ He should probably explain. ] It's just that ... a lot of my friends aren't human. They're called Seraphim. And where I'm from, humans can't normally see them. [ He's a special case that can, of course, along with various others with the heightened ability to do so. And animals, like dogs, can sense their presence ... But. ] But since you're not human, I'm not really sure where you'd stand with that ...

[ There's no way he could tell how other non-humans from other worlds might interact with the Seraphim, after all. His world only has so many species. If he can sense something like Sorey's "bright light", though, then it's possible he might have some sort of power to see them. He can't tell right now, but he's certainly curious.

[Admittedly, the seraphim he's more familiar with are of the Judeo-Christian variety, but that only makes him more curious as to what kind of Seraphim with a capital S Sorey's used to.]

Well, there should be no harm in trying. I am able to perceive a great many things most humans cannot.

[ That's enough for Sorey then, and it's got his curiosity going — it'd be really great if Saiduq could see them, too! Sorey is always up for others being able to perceive the Seraphim. ]

Then it can't hurt to try! You might really be able to! And I'd be really happy if you could!

[So it's not just for Sorey's sake, he too is genuinely interested in seeing what kind of beings these Seraphim are.
