He really wanted to tell her that this wasn't everything. But he didn't want to burst it on her the way he had when he first found her again. He wanted the timing to be good, and so he tried to calm himself down so that he could manage to wait just a few more minutes. He had been able to keep this from her since he decided that he would do it, but now that it was almost time it was surprisingly so much harder to keep quiet. It had already been difficult keeping a secret from her, because he had never really done that before. He told Botan everything, even every time he had a dispute with Kagemitsu. And that was, honestly, quite often.
