Where he kneeled, he briefly wondered if it was over the top to kneel like this. It wasn't usually a tradition of his own time, but it had seemed so romantic in the books, and in the things on the TV, that he thought it would be meaningful, an important part of it. He had kneeled before her before too, but now he knew even more about proposals. But he was just as filled with honest and pure love for her now as he was then. Only now, she knew who he was.

"I know that. I already told you that that isn't going to stop me from loving you." Was she going to say no? Or was it the surprise? He had been confident that she would want to marry him too, but with no answer so far he was getting nervous. He put all his hope and dreams in her, and he wouldn't love anyone the way he loved her.
