Shopping District

[So. Things are still super weird. Everything about this colony and everything he’s learned over the last couple of days has been very strange to him, not to mention stressful.

Initially when he woke up a few days later shivering he had assumed maybe he was sick. Not that that had mattered. He burrowed further in his blankets and that was that…except that it wasn’t. Everything felt cold, even Baymax activating his internal heater did nothing for him.

So he left. He took off, taking his robot on the train with him and headed for the shopping district. Over the course of the day he’s wandering with Baymax, occasionally burying himself further and further into piles of clothing. Sorry if he startles you by being there.

On the other hand, taking Baymax anywhere is always a hassle. When Hiro’s not trying to warm up, he’s chasing after the robot, occasionally bumping into people.]

Baymax! Wait! [Baymax might not be fast, but it’s easy to get separated from him. Heads up, he’s not at all watching where he’s running. He might just run right into you…or through you. Or through a building. Well that’s not normal, is it? Who knows where he’ll end up.]

CERES Game Center

[Being nearly invisible is kinda bad. He’s almost completely faded by the time he makes his way to the CERES game center with Baymax at his side. The robot and invisible-boy are blocking the entrance to ViViD today due to the fact that Hiro’s sitting just outside of it scowling at it, moving around the system to try and figure it out without going inside. If he sees someone passing by though or even approaching to play, he’ll catch their attention, trying to grab them by the arm and phasing right through.]

I can't see light or things that emit light. I'd radio for help but, I can't find my device. Even if I did, I can't see the damn thing.

[He sighs.]

When did you stop seeing light? [i.e. "don't worry about me, I'll figure something out."] Baymax, can you see if you can examine his eyes?

[He may not see it, but Richter can probably hear the squeaking of vinyl as Baymax waddles over toward them.

[Yeah, wave your hand there kid, totally not in front of him. Though the mention of an eye examination does get him to perk up.]

Eye exam? Uhhh no need for that!

[When did vinyl become so threatening? When it threatened to reveal his reveal his right eye isn't natural. Yeah around that time.]

I'm pretty sure this just CERES up to their nonsense.

[Dude. That's an overreaction and Hiro just stops to stare.] It's not that bad. Baymax is pretty much programmed for these things. [In fact, Baymax will hold up a finger to shine a light in Richter's face.]

Does CERES mess with our senses that much?

[What the heck is Baymax? Who the heck is Baymax? And why does he keep hearing vinyl?? The light is totally ignored and the chances of Richter ever seeing Baymax vanished as well.]

Well, I'm assuming you played ViViD, yeah? Part of me is saying that, if CERES can make that, pull people away from their of worlds, chances are they can mess with our senses as if we were play things.

I had to play through ViViD to get out here, right? That doesn't mean that our code should be that easy to mess with. Have you ever looked at code? [He brings Baymax's arm down, signaling for him to put out the light while the robot chimes in with He does not appear to be responding.] People can make strings of code that're so impossible to untangle they can't even remember it themselves. Who says CERES is that good at it?

What proof do you have they aren't?

I mean, you and I are here because of them.

I've heard a couple of things about them that makes me suspicious about how much control they really have here. [Namely the fact that people can basically be corrupted and they have to send the code back out. It sounds like a mess, personally.]

And anyway, just because they brought us here doesn't mean they really know what to do with us after that.

They said they were "saving" us, if that was really their intention though, I can't say.

[Though he has his own theory about it.]

Anyway, what do we do about you kid? You said you had a question.

Believe it or not? You kinda already answered a lot of the ones I had. ["Is this normal? Is there a way to fix this? How are people reacting? What else is happening? Richter answered all of those just from talking to him.]

Unless you can tell me how to not go ghost, I'm not sure what else can be done. [Though...] You're not sure you believe them either?

[And he's determined to find out. He sighs and stays silent for a few seconds before holding out a fist to Hiro.]

Hiro Hamada. [He'll try to fistbump....but his fist sort of phases right through the guy's hand and leaves Hiro sighing in exasperation.] ...we'll try that again later. I think I've gotta solve this problem first.
