Shopping District

[So. Things are still super weird. Everything about this colony and everything he’s learned over the last couple of days has been very strange to him, not to mention stressful.

Initially when he woke up a few days later shivering he had assumed maybe he was sick. Not that that had mattered. He burrowed further in his blankets and that was that…except that it wasn’t. Everything felt cold, even Baymax activating his internal heater did nothing for him.

So he left. He took off, taking his robot on the train with him and headed for the shopping district. Over the course of the day he’s wandering with Baymax, occasionally burying himself further and further into piles of clothing. Sorry if he startles you by being there.

On the other hand, taking Baymax anywhere is always a hassle. When Hiro’s not trying to warm up, he’s chasing after the robot, occasionally bumping into people.]

Baymax! Wait! [Baymax might not be fast, but it’s easy to get separated from him. Heads up, he’s not at all watching where he’s running. He might just run right into you…or through you. Or through a building. Well that’s not normal, is it? Who knows where he’ll end up.]

CERES Game Center

[Being nearly invisible is kinda bad. He’s almost completely faded by the time he makes his way to the CERES game center with Baymax at his side. The robot and invisible-boy are blocking the entrance to ViViD today due to the fact that Hiro’s sitting just outside of it scowling at it, moving around the system to try and figure it out without going inside. If he sees someone passing by though or even approaching to play, he’ll catch their attention, trying to grab them by the arm and phasing right through.]

Indeed--something beyond the usual 'glitches' that seem to arise when others are brought here, at that.

[And-- ...He blinks, but seeing how you politely asked, he'll just politely answer.] As part of the traditions within my family, I, the man Gongenzaka, refer to myself in what at home would be considered a polite manner; in other words, it is a form of care and respect for those around me.

[It's also balls-old, as some have noted.]

The usual glitches are like the ViViD games, right? We know how to get past those. Maybe there's something there that can be done to stop all of this.

[...dude.] And you really, really don't have to do that. It's cool. Don't worry about being polite. [Seriously.] There's nobody else from your family here, is there?

Hmmn, do you? [What is that somewhat muttered tone...] I, the man Gongenzaka, do not suppose that you or your brother managed to avoid the effects of the glitches causing death in the game a number of weeks back then...

[..........Well that must have sucked. All the same. He shakes his head.] When I, the man Gongenzaka, speak, I am by default representing my name, and my family's honor; therefore, I, the man Gongenzaka, will continue to act according to our traditions..!

[However, with a somewhat amused smile, he continues--] That said, I am the only one of my family here; and my friends, certainly, do not follow these traditions!

I haven't been here that long, and Tadashi didn't...[Well, he didn't mention getting killed so there's that. He pauses, unsure of how to proceed before he shakes his head.] All I've heard about are killer Santas, so unless there's something else that was trying to kill people...

[But okay. You do you, Gogenzaka, it's all good.] If you say so. Who am I to stop tradition? [Even if it's still funny.] But at least you've got friends here. Can't be that bad to be stuck, can it?

Not long ago, a number of us were trapped within a ViViD session; during this, many weapons 'glitched', while the creatures we faced were far stronger than anything that would typically be seen...

[He swallows, visibly pale--and not just because of this ghostliness either.] ...Instead of what generally occurs when someone dies within the game, death... ...was far worse.

[Still, he does nod.] Aaah. Though unfortunately, a few seem to have vanished as well...

[This must be what Katsura had been so reluctant and afraid to tell him. Nothing else made sense, and that's...kinda horrifying. He's picturing what would have happened if Baymax glitched inside ViViD (and knowing how bad that could actually be) and he wants to ask more questions but he can tell it's not a great subject.] ...I'll take your word for it. Nothing else like that has happened has it? That's it.

[He hopes. There's a tiny bit of relief that comes from knowing at least Gongenzaka has some kind of support.] Someone told me people vanish because their codes get corrupted and CERES wipes them out. Do people vanish for any other reason?

Other things have happened... ...but that incident, by far, stands out the most in my mind.

[Yes, even above having smaller versions of him slowly chase him while accusing him of murder.

That said. Gongenzaka shakes his head.] Unfortunately, I, the man Gongenzaka, cannot say. Corrupted codes is the most that I have heard of.

It's okay. That's a lot more than I knew when I first got here so...thanks. [He pauses to consider.] Makes you wonder if this is just the first step of corruption or if there's something else. Guess I'll check it out.

It is nothing-- [Though he nods.] But, I, the man Gongenzaka, am glad to have been able to help somewhat in that case.
