Shopping District

[So. Things are still super weird. Everything about this colony and everything he’s learned over the last couple of days has been very strange to him, not to mention stressful.

Initially when he woke up a few days later shivering he had assumed maybe he was sick. Not that that had mattered. He burrowed further in his blankets and that was that…except that it wasn’t. Everything felt cold, even Baymax activating his internal heater did nothing for him.

So he left. He took off, taking his robot on the train with him and headed for the shopping district. Over the course of the day he’s wandering with Baymax, occasionally burying himself further and further into piles of clothing. Sorry if he startles you by being there.

On the other hand, taking Baymax anywhere is always a hassle. When Hiro’s not trying to warm up, he’s chasing after the robot, occasionally bumping into people.]

Baymax! Wait! [Baymax might not be fast, but it’s easy to get separated from him. Heads up, he’s not at all watching where he’s running. He might just run right into you…or through you. Or through a building. Well that’s not normal, is it? Who knows where he’ll end up.]

CERES Game Center

[Being nearly invisible is kinda bad. He’s almost completely faded by the time he makes his way to the CERES game center with Baymax at his side. The robot and invisible-boy are blocking the entrance to ViViD today due to the fact that Hiro’s sitting just outside of it scowling at it, moving around the system to try and figure it out without going inside. If he sees someone passing by though or even approaching to play, he’ll catch their attention, trying to grab them by the arm and phasing right through.]

[He grins to himself when Sayo begins to follow, but he nods all the same. Curiosity is always a good trait to have; Hiro has plenty himself.]

I mean most marshmallows don't have limbs, but yeah, something like that. His name's Baymax. He was with me before he found something more interesting and wandered off.

[Sayo glances over at Hiro for a moment, before looking ahead of them. Despite his size, he have a fairly sharp vision.]

What is he? He doesn't sound like anything I know.

[Nothing big, white and marshmallow-like among the people and enemies he ever saw.]

He's a nursebot. You're familiar with robots because of this place at least, right? Baymax was designed as a robot with medical training...and a couple of other things. He was waiting for me outside of ViViD when I first got here, so it's kind of important that I keep an eye on him.

[Not to mention that he already has enough on his plate watching Tadashi's every move. Baymax is an effective babysitter that way.]

[Sayo kind of frowns at that. He doesn't trust robots enough for something like medical training. He have a CYbuddy, but they're designed as pets, not babysitters.]

If Baymax is a nursebot for taking care of you, why did he wander away from you?

[As a robot, shouldn't he stay by Hiro's side instead of getting distracted? Sayo stands on his toes for a moment, trying to see over the crowds.]

[What a fantastic question. It's one that gets Hiro to sigh, still pushing his way through the crowd and leaving space for Sayo to follow behind him as he goes.]

He's not meant for taking care of me specifically. [He just chose to do that on his own. But that's a whole other story.] He's kinda meant to help anybody who needs it, but sometimes he gets distracted by other things. Butterflies, horror movies...normal stuff. Probably just because they're things he's never seen before. [He gestures around.] Not like we have aliens back home anyway.

[Sayo can understand what that's like. He's a sword, but he still discover a lot of curious things outside of the battlefield. He follows after Hiro, keeping close enough so he won't lose sight of him in the crowd.]

You don't have aliens, but you have robots in your world?

[zerotohiro]

Well yeah, that's what we build back home. [He's not sure why one would be surprising over the other, but he's careful to make sure Sayo's not getting lost in the crowd even as he explains.] My brother and I both studied robotics back home. He's actually the one who originally made Baymax. Robots aren't super common for people to have, but people usually don't give them a second look either. I think aliens would be a little harder to explain.

[Sayo is a spirit. Aliens aren't that out of the ordinary in his view. Robots in general are usually more... unusual to him.] Ah... I know there's robots, but I never saw them back home.

[The citadel was very traditional, even with the modern tech inside, to accommodate the swords. There's no point to have a robot around. Here? It's nothing like home.]

Your brother made him? [So, probably a smart guy. Sayo wonders if Hiro's brother can handle the technology in this place.] Is he--I think I see him!

[He need to look higher, but Sayo thought he caught a glimpse of something big and white.]

Yeah, he did. [And then Hiro upgraded and remade him, but he's skipping over that part. Nobody really needs to know that part yet.] Tadashi's really smart that way...he put a ton of work into Baymax.

[But Sayo suddenly speaks up and he jumps to see over the crowd, spotting said big and white blob rounding a corner.] Nice! C'mon, we can probably catch him before he gets too far. [And excuse him while he bolts, phasing right through somebody else as he moves to catch up with his robot.]

Tadashi-san's your brother?

[Whoa, really? Sayo could see some familiar resemblance. He'd get a better look if Hiro haven't bolted off. Not wanting to lose him in the crowds - and his connection to Tadashi do got his attention - Sayo quickly moves through and around the people.

He can probably catch up with his speed. As long he doesn't lose sight of them.]

[He hears the question but he doesn't quite answer yet. He's booking it through the crowd, careful not to move too fast so Sayo can keep sight of where he's going as he weaves through people and around the corner. Baymax is halfway down a side street as Hiro skids on the sidewalk, turning sharply and pushing through people to stop in front of the robot and hold his hands up.]

Baymax, whoa! You can't just take off like that! [He drags a hand down his face, panting to catch his breath as the robot blinks at Hiro.]

My scanners indicate several signs of life who may need our assistance.

[And while that's well and good, he just shakes his head.] I know, buddy, but wait for me next time. [He seems to remember then that Sayo had followed, and he also seems to remember the formality he used to refer to Hiro's brother.]

Wait, you know Tadashi?

[Running through crowd, Sayo didn't stop and apologise for anyone he bumped into by accident. Sorry, lady, he'd mind his manners in any other situation. Eventually, he turned around the corner and see a large, white figure standing there. The closer he get to it, the easier it is for him to hear Hiro's voice calling out.

And then he heard another voice responding to him. Baymax?

Sayo slowed down when he get closer to them, and walked around Baymax so he can stand near Hiro and looked up at the robot. So big and round...

He blinks and glances over at Hiro.]

Tadashi-san? Yes, I do. We talked before about an... app.

[That people notification thing.]

[Man, who needs manners? When Sayo approaches though Baymax's attention drifts from Hiro to the other and he lifts a hand, giving a circular wave.]

Hello.

[Hiro's attention isn't lost on what Sayo's saying though and he racks his brain for what app he's talking about.] You mean the tracker thing? He told me about that. ...that's how he found me inside ViViD. The app said I showed up and he followed me in. [There's a nonchalant shrug.] If anybody can get the app to really work, it'd be Tadashi. [No shame in admitting that. His brother's smart. Hiro could probably do it better without effort, but he doesn't say so.]

[Sayo turns his gaze back to Baymax again with a blink.]

... Hello.

[What a curious robot thing. He looks back at Hiro.] I'm going to get the app from him. I'm just waiting for Tadashi-san to let me know when I can come.

[Still waiting for that message at this point in time.]

[Don't mind Baymax trying to scan you, Sayo. And don't mind Hiro not paying attention to what his robot's doing. That's normal.]

It shouldn't take that long. I can probably check in on it for you if you want, but things have been kinda...[How do you say "everything's way messed up?" to a stranger?] Busy at our place. But it shouldn't take long.

[Baymax would find that Sayo's body is similiar enough to a human to be mistaken for one. Other than that, the other notable thing about Sayo is his sheathed short sword by his side. Sayo just blinked as he was being scanned. Okay...?]

You don't have to, I don't mind waiting for it. [Although having that tracker as soon as possible would be nice.]

[Finding nothing gravely wrong with Sayo, Baymax reaches out to pat him on the head and offer him a lollipop. Hiro's batting Baymax's hand away. No. We do not do that right now, Baymax.]

It's not a big deal. Gives me a chance to bug Tadashi some more. [And the way he says it suggests that it's something he's looking forward to. Something he's missed. He'll probably do it even with Sayo saying yes.]

[Sayo started to step back when Baymax was reaching out for him. No head pats, no matter how nice they feel! Mostly because he only accepts them from people he can trust in. But his eyes did look at the offered lollipop. Is that candy? ... What flavour?]

... If you say so. Then I don't mind if you remind Tadashi-san. [Brothers bugging brothers. That's not something Sayo usually do, but he saw it before.]

[It's cherry, Sayo. Please take it, it's not poisoned and Baymax is trying very hard to be non-threatening and huggable. At least he's not really deterred by the resistance of the head-patting.]

It'll be the first thing I do when Baymax and I get home. [A beat.] Which we should do now that I caught up with him. Thanks for your help.

[Sayo would just carefully hold out his hand for the lollipop. Seems like he'll accept it for now. Eating it would be another thing, but shhh, don't tell Baymax.]
