[OPEN] the pet bug evolved

Who: Anyone at the Kumonjis (residents and CRs)

Where: Kumounji apartment
What: Sayo’s pet alien bug changed into a crysalis and started spreading out spores. The spores can make people feel sick, irritable and more likely to tell the truth… (More info under the cut)
Rating/Warning: Most likely have languages and violence against alien bugs later. Will update as needed.

[Around one month ago, Sayo was given a strange, alien bug by a comrade and he kept it as a pet. He named it “Dotanuki”, thanks to a suggestion from another comrade and has been quietly taking care of it. Despite its… creepy look, it seems to be behaving and Sayo’s genuinely fond of his strange pet. That would be why he’s allowed to keep it for this long.

Until one day, it started to change itself and became a crysalis. It rouse some curiosity from Sayo, but he let his housemates know about it and put it in a safe place. Maybe it’ll become a butterfly?

However, in the Kumounji apartment, they would find themselves… sneezing? The crysalis was spreading spores from its body, making anyone who breathe them in feel rather ill. It’ll keep on spreading the spores until something must be done about it...

That is, if they can figured out who caused it first and if they can convinced Sayo Samonji to “let him go”. Or destroy it behind his back, if that's their way of doing it.

As for the crysalis itself? It can be found somewhere in the apartment, most likely the living room at a corner on a small table, hopefully out of reach from the CYbuddies in here.]

Anyone who breathe in the spores will feel sick for a few hours (up to 6 hours top), which might depend on their immune system (read: pick how long you want them to last). The spores will cause following effects for those who breathe them in:
Tired
Dizzy
Nauseous
Incapable of lying in any way

[Sayo has been taking a few days off from school. Not because he’s skipping school, that would cause trouble for his brothers and Haru, but because he’s actually feeling unwell. It’s odd, as Sayo never thought he would actually get sick in the first place. Was it because he’s in a human body instead of staying in his sword or being an invisible spirit?

So for anyone in the Kumounji apartment, visitors or residents, Sayo can be found in the living room with a blanket over his body and a mug of hot tea in front of him. Sometimes, he might be sneezing! Probably due to the spores, unknown to him… So his sneezes might have gotten your attention! Look at this poor, sick and grumpy boy.

Being sick sucks, is he rusting...?!]

[ Kogitsunemaru was a little worried. It wasn't that long ago that he offered some udon to Sayo (and the rest of his roommates), so when it seemed like the offer nearly expired... he'd take care of it himself.

With a bag full of disposable bowls of udon, he'll let himself in and find the blue haired tantou all sick and Kogi can't help but rush over and sit down with him. The bag is placed nearby. ]

Sayo-kun... what is wrong? Why are you sneezing?

[ Ugh, rusting. That'd be awful. ]

[Sayo looks up when he sensed someone's approaching and see Kogitsunemaru.]

Kogitsunemaru-san? [Oh, great. The fox can see him in this pitiful state.] I don't know, but I don't feel well...

[Which is... worrying?!]

[ Oh, Kogitsunemaru can see that... and it's weird. More common for humans to get sick, but he couldn't remember a time when a fellow sword did. Nevertheless, he's here, so... ]

... think udon will help? [ It's a question, but certainly not really poised as one as he's already digging into the bag, pulling out the soup and the noodles separately. ]

And when did you start getting ill?

[He looks over at the soup and noodles. Would they help? Can he eat them right now, with how sick he is?]

I don't know if they would help... [At his other question, Sayo pause to think.] ...Since this morning? Yesterday?

You go to school, don't you? [ With a thoughtful hum, he'd start pouring some of the noodles into one of the bowls of dashi, which still had some flickers of steam. ] Were any of your classmates sick?

[ And he'd stir the soup with chopsticks, which also came from the bag... seems like he brought many things with him. It'll certainly smell nice, though the sick tantou may not be able to pick it up. ]

[He shake his head, before watching Kogitsunemaru stir the soup. How many things did he bring?]

No, none of them were sick... I think?

[ All the things. Well, plenty of utensils and extra servings for the other Samonji housemates. After all, it wouldn't have been kind to have only brought some for the swords.

And after it's all mixed, he hands it to Sayo, who looks like he needs this pick-me-up. ]

Mmm. Odd. Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't spread to everyone else.

[He place it carefully on the table in front of him. He doesn't want to accidentally spill it in his current state.]

Hopefully... I don't want my brothers to catch it.

[HIS BROTHERS MUST STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY. Where's the chopsticks? He looks down at the noodles and smell it. What flavour is it? And can he eat it all?]

[ Kitsune udon for Sayo, who will get his own pair of disposable chopsticks (best in this case--- no spreading of germs). It's all for him, including some tofu, as he will show the tantou the other bowls in the bag. ]

We'll make sure they stay safe. But for now, why don't you eat up while I put the rest in your kitchen?

[ Kogi stands, looking around. His nose tingles and he doesn't like that feeling, how it sprung up on him so quickly. But he grabs the extra portions, heading into the kitchen to put them away. ]

[Including some tofu? How generous of Kogitsunemaru, with his love for the food being somewhat known to swords. Sayo nods and hold the chopsticks in his hands. Are these those attached pairs where you need to pull them apart?]

I'll try, Kogitsunemaru-san.

[When he goes, Sayo's going to try to eat the udon. He blows on it, before he takes his first bite.

...Mm, nice.]

[ Kogi comes back into the room as Sayo savors the first bite and it brings a smile on the little fox's face. It's nice to see someone he knows eat the food, though he's sure others have come by the shop... well, sometimes he's not there to witness it.

Though, that odd sensation comes across his nose again and he brings a hand up quickly because---

ACHOO! Whew. Wait. Huh? Probably just a coincidence. ]

How's the udon? I hope it's warm enough.

[Sayo looks up at Kogi when he heard the sneeze and frowns. Did he just sneeze?]

Yes, it's good and warm enough... Are you okay?

[It's a sneeze from being cold, not because he's sick right?]

[ Yes, he sneezed. No, he's not sick.

That's what he's telling himself, anyway. Kogi will be fine, don't worry! ... ugh. ]

Glad to hear. I wasn't sure how well it'd keep on the way here.

[ He has to sit down, he's a little shaky. Weh... ]

[Kogi can sit down next to Sayo. Maybe they can eat together.]

If it's not warm enough, we can heat it up in the... microwave.

[Well, it's udon. They should be reheatable.]

[ They'll definitely teach together! Kogi makes an irritated sound, he's pretty frustrated by how he's suddenly not feeling well. ]

Sayo, how quickly did you get sick?

[ Maybe there was some other factor... ]

[There's a brief moment before Sayo answers.]

I think fairly quick? I got sick yesterday in the morning.

[He thinks.]

[ Kogi's little hairears droop. Boy, the rough life. ]

Did anything else happen before that? Like... I do not know. Did you eat something odd, or be near another sick person?

[ He at least knows that there is such thing as 'food illness', judging by his workplace and that certain sicknesses can be spread. ]

Give him a moment to think. It's a big hard with how sick he feels.

There's... Dotanuki?

[The bug, not the sword.]

[ Kogi doesn't know there's a bug, much less Sayo named it after the tachi. Even then, it'd been a while since he saw Donut, too. ]

Why would Donut-san do this?

[ Maybe he heard Sayo wrong. Then again, his head feels a lot heavier than it normally does. ]

[Sayo looks at him in confusion, before he blinks in realisation.]

... No, Dotanuki-san didn't do anything. [He thinks.] But Dotanuki changed recently.

[THIS ISN'T CONFUSING AT ALL.]

... w-what? Sayo, you're not making any sense. What did Donut-san change into? And wait, he's here?! How long?

[ Kogitsunemaru doesn't need a headache right now, but here it comes. This is just no good. ]

Dotanuki-san isn't here.
