[OPEN] I'm in here

Who: Mary Kozakura ([personal profile] immobileyes) and YOU
When: IC 2/27-3/01
Where: Residential District, right by the not-so-standing apartments
What: Mary tries to dig up things from her fallen apartment over the course of a few days, success is varied
Rating/Warning: None!

[ It was hard enough, waiting for the water level to go down enough so that Mary could return to where her apartment was (had been) without risk of drowning. Seto's hoodie, the jacket Hiro had given her... they were the only things she'd been able to find at the time, but now she can search for anything remaining from their apartment.

So feel free to come across a tiny teenager over the afore-mentioned days, getting drizzled on and trying to pry up pieces of the smaller rubble - and HNNNNNGHing at the bigger pieces of debris that she can't budge at all - as she hunts about. The stuffed animal she'd received from Lily is gone, the headband from Kaoru and Shiho has been twisted and bent beyond repair when she miraculously finds that... the dried flowers, from the bouquet Elza had given her... no sign of them. All of her tea...

Mary almost wants to cry, but not yet. She just keeps looking.

And don't be alarmed if she seems worn-out when you see her. It's not some weird elemental effect, she's just terrible at stamina. ]

[As if he'd think that.... but after working in silence for some time, moving slabs of debris away, Sousei frowns slightly.]

Was this where you lived?

No, it does not.

[He's not going to sugarcoat that, even as he quietly moves another piece of rubble away as well.]

What are we searching for?

[The non-answer explains enough. They're looking for Mary's belongings--that's enough of a reason to keep working at it.]

"Everything" is a little vague, but we can start with the teacups and the books, at the very least.

[He's taking her completely seriously, okay.... HERE THEY GO. Back to digging.]

I'm fine.

[Though he realizes a moment later that that is admittedly a little vague.]

I do feel more like myself, so you don't have to worry any longer.

I suspect that there was something going on, but I could not tell you what it was.

[Which he hates--he doesn't like admitting he's clueless, but it's the truth.

And then he holds up a teacup--cracked, but miraculously in one piece otherwise.]

This belongs to you, correct?

It seems not everything was broken despite the destruction.

[There's probably a deep metaphorical moment waiting to be uncovered here, but Sousei doesn't wait for it. Instead, he just goes right back to work as soon as Mary has her cup.]

That would be logical.

[Unless they were swept away by the water--but he's not going to say that. They may as well search for the whole set.]

It should not take much more to uncover this part of the room.

Yes, that is a blessing. We are lucky there were not too many casualties despite the dangers we were in.

[It's kind of a remarkable miracle, when he thinks about it.]

Material possessions can be replaced, though we will naturally recover what we can.

They will understand. I am certain that they will be happiest that you were unharmed.

[...that said, he understands the value of keeping precious things.]

We will continue looking, however. There is no reason to give up yet.
