[OPEN] I'm in here
Who: Mary Kozakura (
immobileyes) and YOU
When: IC 2/27-3/01
Where: Residential District, right by the not-so-standing apartments
What: Mary tries to dig up things from her fallen apartment over the course of a few days, success is varied
Rating/Warning: None!
[ It was hard enough, waiting for the water level to go down enough so that Mary could return to where her apartment was (had been) without risk of drowning. Seto's hoodie, the jacket Hiro had given her... they were the only things she'd been able to find at the time, but now she can search for anything remaining from their apartment.
So feel free to come across a tiny teenager over the afore-mentioned days, getting drizzled on and trying to pry up pieces of the smaller rubble - and HNNNNNGHing at the bigger pieces of debris that she can't budge at all - as she hunts about. The stuffed animal she'd received from Lily is gone, the headband from Kaoru and Shiho has been twisted and bent beyond repair when she miraculously finds that... the dried flowers, from the bouquet Elza had given her... no sign of them. All of her tea...
Mary almost wants to cry, but not yet. She just keeps looking.
And don't be alarmed if she seems worn-out when you see her. It's not some weird elemental effect, she's just terrible at stamina. ]

[ tossing more rubble! he's being helpful for once! ]
no subject
It took me an hour...

Why don't you ask someone for help? I'm sure someone would take pity on you.
[ because normal people have sympathy for small children, right?? ]
no subject
... Is that why you're helping? [ And excuse you, Kanda, she's older than you-- ]
no subject
[ more or less, anyway. and kanda doesn't know she's older yet!! he just believes his own eyes! (except he hallucinates all the time.) ]
no subject
[ Luckyyyy. ]

[ and as for items he cares about, kanda carries his sword with him all the time, and the lotus hourglass isn't made out of delicate materials and survived. at the moment it's stashed away someplace relatively safe.
so as far as he's concerned, he'll be fine. he doesn't even think to mention things because he doesn't have any he's sentimentally attached to. ]
no subject
Really? Worse than here?
no subject
[ kanda's answer is more curt this time, but to answer her question he'd thought back to his upbringing, which... wasn't a happy time. ]
There's bullshit going on here, too. Just in a different way.
no subject
[ Well, she can understand that. ]
no subject
[ kanda throws another piece of rubble. and hey! would you look at that, there's a large-ish piece of cloth trapped under another rock, soaking wet and smeared with mud. kanda doesn't try to pick it up, because... he's not sure if it's actually a thing, or just a scrap of cloth. ]

[ Wait a sec, is this her dress from that winter ball? If she squints, it looks like it was pink... once... ]
no subject
[ but kanda stops moving, at least, scanning the ground to see what mary is looking for. that piece of fabric? he lifts another piece of rock off of it. ]
This thing? It's gross.
no subject
[ No helping it now, but she's already wondering if she can clean it... ]
no subject
Here. [ kanda holds it out at arm's length encouragingly. ]
no subject
... Thank you.
no subject
oh, it's that feelings thing. kanda just grunts and turns away. ]
You've got other shit down here?

What you said... my things aren't bad!
no subject
