[ He has some convenience-store mochi he felt that he should give as an offering to that altar. They're good-tasting mochi so hopefully they suffice, out of their packaging and arranged on a nice plate. ]

[Ishikirimaru sees the plate of mochi and smiles. It was incredibly thoughtful of his fellow Sanjou to take an initiative in helping out with divine matters, so he is more than happy to explain patiently.]

It can be complicated to explain, but the flow of spiritual energy needs to be monitored so that it would not attract misfortune or evil. Every direction has different properties, furniture needs to be arranged properly so that the house can have a positive aura.

[ Well, it shows that he cares, and he does! He wouldn't be sure if the gods can reach them here, but the effort of Ishikiri-san is meaningful. Imano wants it to be meaningful, at least. ]

Prevention is better than cure, Imanotsurugi. While we might have a chance to fight them off, not needing to fight them would save us trouble in the first place.

[That's packaging he has never seen before. Looks like Imanotsurugi has taken a liking to western sweets. Any other loose wrappers, Ishikirimaru picks up as well.]

Eating too much sweets will make you sick, especially before meals.

[ Lies. Absolute lies, he can eat almost as much as Iwatooshi on better days. In fact, he nabs two pears from the kitchen to munch on to make a slightly better point. He offers one to Ishiriki in exchange for the wrappers he missed, though. ]
