[Open] Snow is glistening a beautiful sight,
Who: Anyone ever!
When: Last half of September
Where: The Chilling Cave
What: Some people were interested in a mingle post at Jack's new rink, so here it is! Thread among you and have fun. Snowball fights, forts, skating, snowmen, your imagination is the limit.
Rating/Warning: None for now, let me know if it needs changing.

As that truly amazing punny name shows, this is the place you come to when you wanna chill. Unlike the rest of the Pleasure District, there's nothing adult here, so leave that at the door. Wanna skate on ice? Have a snowball fight? Make a fort? Then what you're waiting for! Grab a jacket and get in - yes, it's snowing inside. Don't think about it too hard.
Most of the time is filled with children - be nice to them or get out. No stepping on the toys! If you come when the place is just opening, you can join in the painting of the wall. Later on, Jack won't mind teaching you how to skate, providing you're fun and not an asshole, and accepting of ice blades for your shoes.
There are no rules in snowball fights. Think fast!

there's snow turning back now (get it)
[ Kogitsunemaru looks awfully content in a hoodie and jeans, though it's far from what is probably acceptable in the wintery conditions of The Chilling Cave. He's also not worried or bothered about getting too wet or cold, given the seat he's taken in the snow wearing a pretty chill outfit. In fact, Kogi looks excited as he presses the powder together to make a... ]
Finished!
[ ... a snow fox. Isn't it cute? Please don't hurt it. Maybe you could help create some family for it instead? ]
II.) do you wanna get hosed by snowballs
[ In his not-so-natural newly-found habitat, Kogitsunemaru's hair isn't exactly the same shade of white as the snow, but it's good enough that he can just idly sit and wait like the most crafty of predators in it. Even better, as he sees a prospective candidate for a surprise barrage of cold, frosty powder, Kogi thinks for a moment about how rude it would be for him to do this.
And then, with a shrug and a smirk, he yells to get attention. ]
Hey, over here!
[ Incoming flurry of snowballs! ]
III.) wildcard
[ Come at me. ]
welcome to pun hell- I mean 1!
Jack hovers behind him, smiling at the little work of snow art.]
Hey, you aren't half bad at this. Can I? [He doesn't wait for an answer, he just reaches out with his cold finger to poke the snow fox... making it come to life.]
is there any saving from this hell?
His face lights up hearing the other spirit's question. Of course, he's not too surprised, at least until the snow fox starts to move and Kogi can't help but gasp audibly. ]
You're not... half bad either? [ He reaches out to touch the fox and it nips at his fingers? Aaaa! ]
mmmmh... nope
And friends too! Laughing, Jack makes a couple of more foxes to join the first in their playing with Kogi.]
Thanks, this-- is my thing- The Arctic was full of white foxes, you know. Don't get me all nostalgic here, gotta protect my reputation.
crap...
[ All of these foxes make Kogi's heart flutter, and he lies back in the snow to let them climb up on the not-as-little fox sword spirit and play on top of him. He's really in the zone with the adorable snow foxes, though Kogi is quick to smile back at Jack, too. ]
... I hope I get to visit your Arctic at some point, especially if it's filled with these foxes like these affectionate ones.

[In past tense. Is he really sounding defeated or anything like that? Or can he blame it on swords being swords? Either way, he doesn't want to think too hard about it.
The foxes gladly climb on Kogi for more playing, and Jack smiles at the sight - it's adorable, and it fits the kiddy-safe feeling he tries to go for. At the mention of visiting the Arctic, Jack takes his staff and starts drawing a rough world map on the ice.]
Just Jack, alright? This is where you guys are, Japan-- [He points at the tiny island with the tip of his staff.]...and that's the Arctic. [Points at it too.] You think you could deal with the cold?

[ Of course, it's all perspective--- one that Kogi doesn't have, because he's never actually left his Citadel back at home. Going into the past doesn't necessarily count as going to many places.
One of the foxes start to nip at his nose, causing him to wiggle it. Jack's pretty incredible, making this happen! ]
The cold is actually very nice. And snow? Even better! I don't know if this is something we would have ever seen if we never came here...
[ He furrows his brow at that thought alone. ]

[He isn't judging, just surprised. Haru mentioned a war, and Jack thought map reading would be a very basic skill for that. What comes next though... it makes him forget about that.
See that smile? It's a true smile, not a mischievous grin. It's big and bright and oh, Kogi, you have no idea how happy you just made Jack.]
That's-- not something I hear often. Thank you. Where are you that you don't know snow? I've brought storms to Japan before.
no subject
[ Not that Kogitsunemaru lacks the ability to do so, but some others are just more suitable... ]
Where? [ He laughs, sitting up as he gathers as many of the foxes he can in his arms and nuzzles their faces. ] More like... when! We're not always in the same time period.

[Jack isn't the one who does the thinking either, but he has to admit, maps helped him a lot back in the day when he was a newborn spirit who could fly anywhere he wanted.
He arches an eyebrow at that, remembering a bit of Haru's stories.] I'm preeeetty sure there's always been snow in Japan.

[ It's a struggle remembering those dangerous times. While the expeditions tended to be more of a chore, the sorties were the real deal. Swords broke. Allies lost. If it did snow, that kind of pleasure died out quickly when coming back home.
For a moment, Kogi looks very far away, but he snaps back into the present with a weak smile and a shrug. ]
Just promise to ensure this place always stays so wonderful, Jack-saaaaaa.... ah... [ Right, right... honorifics. ]

[War. Jack has seen many of them but that doesn't mean he has to like the topic. History repeats itself, some say, and sometimes Jack watches humanity and is willing to believe it.
Kogi's almost honorific slip gets him back laughing at least.]
I'll promise that if you promise to come by to play, too.

[ Kogitsunemaru has done it. He has found the pun. Seriously, though--- he can imagine many of the other spirits enjoying this? Naki's tiny fox could always use some snow fox friends, and Kashuu and Mutsu... ]
Oh! I can bring Haru, too!
[ His master. The best. ]
Will the foxes be okay here by themselves?
no subject
[Jack nods, obviously approving of the idea of bringing Haru over, but he pauses when he hears the rest. Usually he makes his art go back to being normal snow and make new dolls whenever necessary. But he feels he can't tell Kogi that, now can he?]
Don't worry, there are kids all the time around here. They're always ready to play.

[ Stretching out, Kogi wishes he could bring the snowfoxes with him! That'd be so great. Unfortunately, his room is shared with Naki and between the two of them, they have like... four foxes. This does include the two sword spirits, but hey--- they're fox enough. ]
I'll be back soon! Thank you for bringing something so wonderful here...
[ He'll wave before leaving, of course. Kogi won't forget this. ]
