![]() ViViD has opened up a new world that new arrivals will be pulled into while frequent players will be invited to check out. This particular setting is the new beta world that CERES is constructing in time for the Hallow's Eve celebrations and festivals. It's a world inhabited by the undead and several ghouls and monsters of typical horror lore. Inside, one will encounter werewolves, lichens, vampires, succubi, incubi, specters, mummies, and so on. They will be on the prowl and eager to attack, but players need only concern themselves with getting through and getting out. At first, players will awaken outside of a large manor supposedly owned by a wealthy noble who is rumored to be practicing strange alchemic experiments within. Many know him simply as The Count. New arrivals and those logging into ViViD will first find themselves being greeted by their guide at the start screen:

Welcome to CEREALIA's latest intro post. For your convenience, we have compiled a post detailing everyone's usual arrival experience (which is not entirely applicable this round for reasons stated above^) and a FAQ that should explain everything in more detail. Please read them thoroughly before playing. Thank you! |

But yay, Soramaru's looking plenty pleased now.]
Then, let's start with your name?
no subject
Komaeda! Komaeda Nagito. [He inclines his head in a polite bow. Always polite. ...almost always anyway.] It's good to meet you, even if it's pretty strange circumstances.
no subject
But oh, yes. He returns the bow because two can play at the politeness game!!! Except it's more of a lifestyle than a game.]
What was it like when you first arrived in this place, Komaeda-san?
no subject
When I first arrived... mm. Well the ViViD game at the time was a bunch of ferocious dragons that were pretty intent on eating us.
[He notes matter of factly.] Other than that, it's been a lot of the same since then. Outside the simulation, the city is really technologically advanced and run by a group that calls themselves CERES. There are a lot of robots -- mechanical beings that is.
It takes some getting used to, but for the most part, it's not an uncomfortable place to live. There's shelter and food.
no subject
Also, he doesn't know like, half of those words, but he chooses not to linger on them for too long. He'll find out soon enough once he's out of this thing.
But there is something he's curious about.]
I see... One more thing, do you believe them? About what they said when we arrived... about our homes.
[Being destroyed and everyone dead, etc.]
no subject
Hmm?
[Komaeda is quiet at that question for a long moment before he smiles, shaking his head.] Not at all. There's no way it's the entire truth, if any of it is true to begin with.
At least, that's what I think.
no subject
I think that as well. [Hell yeah, mental high five.] It's good to know I'm not alone in thinking so.
no subject
Well... not that I've figured out exactly what they want our cooperation in. It's pretty confusing.
[Playing ViViD? Dealing with spam bots and other glitches? He has no idea. This place is strange, and he's at least grateful that while he doesn't trust CERES or their motivations, living here is at least less harrowing than the last place he was.]
no subject
I'm sure we'll find out. [Sooner or later... preferably sooner, though. But, right. He's got a lot more to figure out, but nothing's too pressing at the moment. He dips his head in a polite bow.]
Thank you again for helping me and answering my questions, Komaeda-san. I don't want to take up anymore of your time, but... let's meet again soon.
