It is a quiet day in mostly reconstructed Cerealia. The robots are busily running into walls that were not there before, the Cybuddy bees are buzzing...and CERES has still not said a word. Attempting to contact them still gets the User Offline error. Strange...

But who cares if CERES is offline? After all, they are the cruel and tyrannical captors. A Cerealia without them must be better than a Cerealia with them. So there's nothing to worry about on this fine, peaceful day. Or, at least, that's what it seems like, when suddenly there's a voice in everyone's head. A chosen few may recognize the voice, for they will have heard it before, but to the vast majority, it is brand new.

Looks like someone has been saved, and a reward granted... and no, you don't have a single choice in the matter.

Your heroism will be remembered, lost and stolen souls.

You have saved me, and so now, I shall save you.

All of you.

//SCENARIOS.EXE

PHASE I

[ day one ] It happens so quickly. One moment you’re in the colony, going about your daily life, and the next, you’re… floating. A moment later, every player character from the colony is transported with a wisp of fresh air to...somewhere very very different. The distance is far, but it is covered in what must have only been a scant moment, and it’s clear somehow, especially to air characters, that it was Caeli’s doing that brought everyone there.

There, naturally, being right in the middle of the jungle.

Everyone is then unceremoniously dropped. You may land on a tree, or in a patch of poison mushrooms (no really, look out for the colorful plant life, it’s probably poisonous) or in the river. There are some strange insects of all sorts and types, some of which have some uncomfortable side effects if you’re bitten, such as swelling or the uncomfortable urge to go hug the nearest person, and there are strange flowers everywhere, some of which glow only in the dark of night or the shade of trees. It is dreadfully humid, however, and a little hard to breathe--unless you’re of the air disposition.

Either way, you’ve certainly landed somewhere fantastical, so take some time to get used to your surroundings. It shouldn’t take too long to find everyone else, hopefully.

PHASE II

[ day two ] Of course, this far into the jungle, and making this much noise, it was only inevitable before some company was attracted.

Some are clearly dangerous, some are peaceful as can be and some are somewhere in between; approach at your own risk.

Either way, these monsters are all drawn to larger groups of people and a lot of noise, so it may be best to keep quiet...though the ones that keep their distance may be even more concerning.

Everyone is certainly being stalked at one point or another in the jungle -- and at night, there are eyes watching from the darker parts of the trees.

PHASE III

[ day three ] But perhaps if you follow some of those monsters deeper into the woods, you will stumble across an old, run down village of sorts. It looks as though time and the jungle has overtaken it. Exploring it will reveal plenty of homes that were clearly lived in however, by families and by people of all sorts.

There are empty rooms, covered in dust, and a central village fire, long gone out.

Small knick-knacks and various objects can be found… if you want to steal from the dead, you know. It’s a little rude. It appears they led a simple, peaceful life, however; most notably, there is no technology to be found.

And if The Bridge catches you doing it, she will look incredibly sad and ask you to put everything back in its proper place before she goes back to looking very irritated at Caeli. You may overhear words about how this “isn’t the right place” and Caeli’s unrepentant, “It is only a few hundred miles”. Looks like something went a little wrong in the transportation process.

Time to camp out for the night, perhaps. And your CereVices don’t get any reception out here, so no surfing the internet for you. If you try to connect to the internet, for some reason the device starts playing a song. Was that programmed…?

PHASE IV

[ day four ] By the fourth day, it’s pretty clear that you’re going to be stuck here for a bit. Pestering Caeli or Maris gets nothing, while the Bridge still can’t be approached for pretty good reasons. So… you’ll just have to make the best of it while they figure out their next approach.

Time to figure out how to camp with few supplies and even fewer nice places to sleep. Maybe try to make a fire (though it’s incredibly difficult, considering how muggy it is here) or try to find some bugs to eat (ew gross).

Of course, you can try hunting, but the prey doesn’t look too friendly, so be careful not to become the prey yourself. The same goes for fishing, it seems.

Some of the trees are poisonous, some of the grasses will cause unfortunate rashes, and some vines will lash out to grab at people (especially colorful ones); basically, this is an entirely untamed alien jungle, so it may not be the fun camping trip you'd like.

Time to work together to survive out here, at least for a little longer.

It’s your time to shine. This is Person Versus Wild.

PHASE V

[ day six ] On day six, the jungle goes utterly silent.

The monsters and animals disappear. The extra friends poof away hastily and suddenly. Maris and the Bridge fall silent (though Caeli admittedly continues floating there as ever). If anyone approaches them to ask, they'll just say that "she is coming".

And soon, she does appear. She moves slowly, lacking in feet; they are roots, as though that of a tree. Nonetheless, she has no troubles with moving forward, slow bit by bit. She does not speak, not at first, and behind her, trotting lightly through the woods, there is another. Both feel strongly of spiritual energy, just like Maris and Caeli. And eventually, after observing the people gathered, they can be spoken to.

BONUS

[ day ??? ] After spending some time in the jungle, emotions might be running a bit amuck. And those emotions might bring some unexpected...friends. Yes, let's go with friends.

Because if a character is typically grumpy, gloomy, stoic, lineface, or anything along those lines, they may find themselves followed by a bright, happy bird. That bird feeds off of those emotions, and will just cheerfully follow around any lineface character for as long as possible. Or until they smile. The birds are otherwise harmless, chirping happily every now and then and following them around like a friendly shadow.

Happy, cheerful, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, energetic characters, on the other hand, will soon find themselves followed by... a different friend. Or maybe a handful of them. It depends on how cheerful they are. Either way, these creatures feed off of happiness and fun, but they will also chew on hair or an ear if they're allowed to get that close, making horrifying, chittering noises as they follow anyone who is in a good mood.

[Naki had paused in his walk through the jungle when he heard the sound of some sort of fight going on somewhere...what he didn't expect was a flying Yamato suddenly crashing into him. It's with some confusion that he lets Yamato pull him back up, starting to move in the direction being pointed out, but.]

Fun?

[Ah, wait, there's a monster.

Um.

Hm.

...Pulling out his sword?]
yasusada: (28.)

ugh naki.. i hope the monster steals your fox,

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-02 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ Of course! This is what we call fun, to be honest, the monster does rush towards them again and maybe it's best they separate for the time being. A hand raised as he waves towards Nakigistune to take the opposite direction. ]

We climb up one of these trees, I have to get my vessel out it's eye!

[ Though the monster does make a straight dash for Nakigitsune, seeing that he has his sword out too. All of them are the enemies. Turning around to see that the giant lizard is stampeding towards the blade and fox, he looks around trying to find an alternative weapon to battle with. ]
yaayaa: (or else it'll fight you)

ugh yamato don't let my fox get stolen...

[personal profile] yaayaa 2015-10-02 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Wow why is it going for him now!? How is this fun! I mean, sure they're swords, but Naki's a display sword, what is all this...he does as instructed and quickly moves to climb the nearest tree!

Though with the monster chasing after him it's gonna be kinda difficult to actually get up there before it hits...ugh he's a sword why is he running but yamato said to climb trees and also it's so huge??? is that skin even penetrable...]
yasusada: (74.)

ugh listen what if it happens i need you to tell us to go to a dangerous place

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-02 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
[ Of course the beast tries its best to ram at the tree that Naki is climbing up and Yamato is doing the same, once he's able to get on a branch, he points at the one that Naki is on. There's a beehive placed nicely on a branch if he goes close to it and maybe if the fox and blade plays their cards right, they could drop it down on the monster.

Motioning his hand to the under part of his own branch to alarm Naki, he gives a nod. He does make sure to yell so that it reaches the other's ears and waving his free arm. ]

Did you get what I'm saying!
Edited 2015-10-02 05:20 (UTC)
yaayaa: (this isn't working out)

this place is dangerous every place is dangerous we're already in danger

[personal profile] yaayaa 2015-10-02 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[He barely made it up this branch in time!! Ah, that was close...he does catch sight of that motioning though, tilting his head at--what? What is Yamato saying? Something under the branch? Under Naki's branch?

.....Ah. It takes a bit, but he sees it. His fox finally takes this moment to speak up!]

Are we to drop that on the enemy?
yasusada: (79.)

ARE YOU SURE th emonster is just hungry?

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-04 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Do it quickly!

[ A thumbs up is given to both Naki and the fox so they can go about dropping the beehive. What Yamato does in turn is move through the trees to get closer towards where they are, guessing where the monster may go if this goes right. He knows that it's not that bad, he's finding it fun but what's more important is that he gets his vessel back. ]
yaayaa: (o-oh of course there is)

hungry for swords?

[personal profile] yaayaa 2015-10-05 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
Alright!

[Aaand he cuts down the hive! It's falling, falling--landing right on the monster's head as it tries to headbutt Naki's tree.

The hive is now impaled on the handle of Yamato's vessel, angry bees already swarming as the poor creature roars in who knows what emotion, it's not like Naki speaks monster. Anger? Surprise? Pain? Anyway, the bees....the bees are scary, he wants out of this tree, time to move to another branch? Ugh this was a bad idea, why did he trust you, Yamato?

He still trusts you, Yamato...]
yasusada: (91.)

UGH WHY DID OUR PLAN FAIL

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-05 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
[ NO THEIR PLAN! This isn't what Yamato wanted, he doesn't know if he can drop down but he moves closer to the tree that Naki is sitting in. The way the hive is now stuck on Yamato's vessel makes him frown, it even bothers his body just a bit. A shiver down his spine and he looks towards Naki wondering why did he choose betray? ]

Aah.. that's fine, we can fix this.

[ Looking down at the monster, it's roaring at the bees and getting stung in multiple eyes. There's a moment where the monster swings it's own tail towards it's face, missing Yamato's vessel by a smidgen and this causes the uchigatana to stress. ]

We have to lead it somewhere else, it's trying to fight bees.. [ It's time to move before the monster tries to cut down the tree. ]
Edited 2015-10-05 02:24 (UTC)
yaayaa: (is that a judge face i see)

IT WAS DESTINY

[personal profile] yaayaa 2015-10-05 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[He might not be the one covered in bees but seeing that swarm is making him shiver anyway. What if...what if.....not that he knows anything about bees, but the buzzing and roaring and stuff is pretty worrying on its own.

Plus all this rampaging is distressingly close to the tree, to the point the tree itself is shaking. They probably need to hurry before it gets knocked down...]

We need to get your sword somehow! But we also need to escape...aahh, do you have any ideas, Yamatonokami-san...!
yasusada: (11.)

UGH DESTINY listen goodbye,, nakfox

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-06 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
I have a plan but it seems dangerous.. [ It is, but it's not something he wants to actually do. It would involve the fox itself to act as a decoy for the moment but he couldn't dare place Naki's voice in danger? His friend? There's a frown on his face as he looks down towards the monster and begins to speak up on his thoughts. ]

It's being a decoy, but I don't think it's safe for you, [ He looks towards the fox a little worried. ] for you to go down there. So we need to think of something else.. maybe.. another way to distract it.. if one of us could get on it's back.. [ But thinking won't help anything because with another swing of the monster's tail, it's slowly breaking down Naki's tree. Please jump. ]
yaayaa: (no no i can do this)

goodbye yamato

[personal profile] yaayaa 2015-10-06 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
A decoy? [Is Naki the decoy? Normally he'd assume he was meant to be the decoy, but something about the way Yamato looks at his fox makes him worry, just a bit. The fox also doesn't look particularly happy (who would, in a tree with bees and a rampaging monster beneath you?), but.]

We should be able to think of something if we--

[And that's when the creature's tail swings just high enough to hit the branch Naki is standing on. He's falling? The fox is falling? Will Yamato ever get his body back???]
yasusada: (25.)

man you lived a good life

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-07 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[ Yamato is tired the moment he takes in the fact that Naki's tree is going ... going ... GONE.. and down on the ground with dust scattering everywhere that picked up from it's immense weight. There's shock on the uchigatana's features as he watches the monster scurry away and supposedly getting ready to turn.

In that time, Yamato jumps down from the tree with ease as he takes in the many trees that fell in the monster's wake. As much trees as it is, he does look around and pushes through bushes in order to find the other. ]

Nakigitsune? Nakigitsune's companion? Where did you go?

[ He calls out.. where are they? ]
yaayaa: (sorry)

a long life, a boring life

[personal profile] yaayaa 2015-10-07 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
[It takes a bit, but eventually Nakigitsune pushes himself up out of the leaves! There's leaves in his hair! There's bees somewhere!...ah, he's alive? He's alive. He's still got his vessel on him and everything. Where'd the monster go, he's worried...

If nothing life-threatening happens in the next few seconds he might realize something's missing.]
yasusada: (12.)

DONT SAY BORING HES NOT DEAD!!!!

[personal profile] yasusada 2015-10-10 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh no, the bees might be coming near Nakigitsune but Yamato makes his presence known when he sees the other again? He looks safe and all he does is swat away a few bees once he knows that the rapid stomping around them has ceased. Perhaps the beast has calmed down and is chasing after something else? Around the area one can see blood that dropped from the monsters eye and not too far away is Yamato's sword laying on the ground with it still trapped inside a dislodged eyeball.

Oo! Sparkly. ]

We did it! Perhaps your dramatic fall was needed.. Nakigitsune! You did it, perhaps if we follow the trail of the monster.. we can find where it landed.

[ Silence....... ]
