[01] put on your Sunday clothes when you feel down and out
Who: Wall-E and YOU!
When: Sundayof course
Where: Residential District
What: A little robot is doing some important work, but in order to get it done, we need to go knocking on some people's doors here.
Rating/Warning: N/A, will update as necessary?
[It's a nice and quiet Sunday, not a lot going on. However, if you have chosen to spend this day relaxing at home, you might be able to hear some noise--or rather, music, coming from somewhere outside of the door of your residence here:]
Put on your Sunday clothes,
There's lots of world out there!
Get out the brilliantine and dime cigars
We're gonna find adventure in the evening air
Girls in white in a perfumed night
Where the lights are as bright as the stars!
[Soon enough, you'll hear a knock upon your door. Upon opening it, you'll be greeted by Wall-E here, who will offer a small wave and do one of two things:
A. Attempt to roll right on past you and go straight into your house, leaving behind a large garbage bin on wheels out in the hallway. He seems to be a robot on a mission, looking around for something. Hopefully you are someone who keeps their trash somewhere out in a noticeable spot, because that's what Wall-E's here for. Otherwise, you might end up having a nosy robot starting to poke around your things when looking for your garbage can here.
or
B. He'll take a second to turn off the music playing, and then starts digging around in a container that he hoists off his back for a moment. Once he finds what he's looking for, he holds it out for you to look at: it looks like a business card that someone was nice enough to put together for him (probably after too many attempts of Plan A made it quickly apparent that he needed a different approach instead of just going into people's houses without proper explanation), stating that he's a "Door to Door Trash Compactor" and that he's here to take care of your garbage for you today.
He'll give you a moment to look at it before he then speaks.]
Traaash?
[Is it okay if he comes inside for a moment to do some cleaning? Or, barring that, if you could bring it out here and he'll take care of it for you right here outside your door?]

Wally seems really interested in his helmet and the other things on the table, though, so Dotanuki shrugs. He doesn't care if the robot touches it. A lot of people have touched his helmet before.]
S'my helmet. Or rather, the helmet I split a few hundred years ago. The sword's [He nods his head at the katana that was in the middle of being cleaned.] my vessel. My real body.
I was cleanin' it. You never seen a sword before?
no subject
Vessel...?
[Looking between Dotanuki and the sword, and then back to Dotanuki again, clearly confused. How is that sword on the table your "real" body?]
no subject
My vessel.
[He walks over and picks it up, sliding it back into its sheath. Even if Wall-E is made of metal, it's probably better not to take chances that either the robot might get hurt or his vessel might get scratched.]
I'm a tsukumogami, a spirit. I live inside a vessel, and mine's a sword.
[He pauses, looking at the robot.]
...You understand any of that?
no subject
Tsuuu... tsuukuumoo...
[...Give him a second here to try to figure out how to properly say that, let alone whether or not he understands what that is.]
Tsuukuumogaaamiii...?
[There's a pause, and then he shakes his head. Sorry, he's not sure if he understands it very well...]
no subject
He waits, but apparently it is not to be. Dotanuki sighs and rubs the back of his neck with one hand.]
I've got two bodies - this one you see, and the sword. How about that?
no subject
He reaches a hand out towards the sword on the table--he's not planning on trying to pick it up, just wants to see what it feels like. Is that okay?]
no subject
Then the robot reaches out and Dotanuki realizes what he wants. The sword shrugs and nods his head.]
Sure, go ahead. Just don't draw it. Human body's pretty hardy, but you break that and I die.
no subject
Maybe we shouldn't be touching this--we wouldn't want to risk accidentally breaking anything here...]
no subject
Don't worry, I'm a war sword so I'm not that easy to break.
[He picks up the sword and holds it out to Wall-E.]
Go ahead.

[Wall-E stares at the sword for a moment before reaching out to take in his hands. Thankfully, it doesn't look like weight is a problem as he's able to hold it up pretty well, looking it over. As long as he doesn't make any sudden movements, you probably don't even have to worry about him dropping it...]

While Wall-E examines the sword, Dotanuki is examining Wall-E. Smart, small, built with little tires, and curious. Makes him wonder just what kind of tsukumogami or spirit this guy is.]
So what're you? Other than "Wally."
