![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

Any tiredness is blown away when he gets out of his room and he sees Nesso leaving the house, but somehow he's still hearing Nesso's voice and Zara's voice is loud and what in the high hell is going on
Bewildered, he walks out, blinking with round gold eyes. And he spies Mary, and Zara and-- no Nesso?] What... Mary, Zara? [He looks around again. Where's Nesso? He approaches them, lowering to a knee.] What on earth's happened?
no subject
I-it's so dark--
no subject
Until he goes to clap a hand on Zara's shoulder to get his attention and his touch passes straight through. Then he realizes something is definitely wrong. To his credit, he doesn't panic at least.] Elza! Something is happening. I think we may have problems.
no subject
Mary looks like she's about to cry; he takes her hand when he sees her groping around, squeezing it tightly, despite the fact that he's falling apart a bit, himself. First things first: he can't respond to their concerns if they don't know he can't hear them. ]
My hearing is gone!
no subject
He stumbles off to his room... and returns. PAPER IN HAND, ELZA'S HERE TO SAVE THE DAY. Quickly, he scribbles out: Nesso's still here somehow, Zara.]
Nesso... You still there? Mary, can you hear him too?
no subject
She's sniffling now, trying to sort the voices in the darkness. Zara, who can't hear. Elza, back now, and Nesso who... is hard to see? ]
I-I can hear all of you. But-- [ it's likely a good thing she can't see how pathetic she looks right now, but hey, she's trying. ] I can't see a-anything...
no subject
[Damn it. He's invisible.] I can't seem to touch anything! ...and I may be invisible.
[What the hell is this. Mary can't see. Zara can't hear. He can't... well all he can really do is yell. So there's that. That's a strategy, right? He's going to keep on doing it. He also tries to reach out and reassure Zara, but that isn't working.] It's all right, Mary. Something is going on. Some mischief or another. We'll reason it out.
Elza... are you whole?
no subject
Zara returns a quick nod to Elza as he runs off, understanding the gesture, and seems relieved when he comes back with paper. Good thinking. Once he's read it, though, he only seems more puzzled. ]
Nesso is still here?
[ cue Zara glancing around for him. ]
no subject
There doesn't seem to be anything changed with me, captain. Not that I've noticed. But... this has to be something else that this place has done, doesn't it? [He shifts, reaching out toward Mary now (since no how upset she is makes his heart hurt), moving to take one of her hands and squeezing gently.]
We'll figure out what's happened.
[And he quickly writes down these words for Zara's benefit, as well. As much as he'd like to rely on lip reading that's not quite a thing, is it.]
no subject
... C-can someone ask Zara what happened in the bathroom? I thought I saw something right before...
[ Look, she's trying to get with the program! Even if she's still squeezing both hands like lifelines. ]
no subject
Mary's got a point. If she saw something, perhaps Zara did too. ...I just saw myself leaving the apartment.
[Something took his body guys. He is pretty not okay with that at all, now that he thinks about it.]
no subject
As for what happened - Zara can venture a guess. He ends up talking over Nesso slightly, since he can't hear him or see his mouth moving. ]
There was a figure in the bathroom mirror. I don't know what it was, but I think it hurt my ears.
no subject
[Somehow, that feels quite heavy. He looks around at-- well, Zara and Mary, and into empty air where he thinks he can hear Nesso speaking from. He scribbles down as he writes.]
For now, let's just move and sit down somewhere else. [He gestures toward the living room.] If we're going to talk, not much point in doing it here on the floor. Are any of you hurt anywhere else?
no subject
But she slowly shakes her head (the reddening areas on her forehead and nose should be answer enough as to what does hurt). But she might wait to get properly onto her feet until she knows she won't just smack into something else. ]
no subject
I can't feel much of anything. But I'm fine. [Though...] I may have to track down my body though.
[Seriously. He thinks whatever left him invisible and intangible TOOK IT FOR A JOYRIDE.] I'll be no help though. I can't manage to touch anything.
no subject
Gently, he begins getting to his feet, tugging lightly at Mary's hand to encourage her to stand with him. If he has to, he doesn't mind carrying her, but it would be best if she learned how to cope with her new condition as soon as she could. ]
no subject
--you may want to leave off looking for your body until a little later, captain. You might not be able to touch anything, and you might be invisible, but that you're still here is reassuring. [Elza sighs as he stands out of the way of Zara and Mary, so that they can walk ahead of him.]
no subject
no subject
[But he feels bad he can't do much of anything but watch and keep up a running commentary -- and the latter is lost entirely on Zara.]
So we've all been affected but Elza. How do we reverse whatever trickery this is?
no subject
Would you like to - to seat you, Mary? [ trying to talk without knowing what he sounds like is far harder than he anticipated - as before, he sounds just a little too loud, and he finds himself stammering accidentally. Zara winces at himself. ]
no subject
I'm not certain. Strange things have happened here before, but this...? Maybe it's something that'll wear off?
[As soon as Zara is less occupied, he'll scribble down his and Nesso's conversation for his benefit.] Though, saying so, I don't feel right waiting.
no subject
... But what can we do?
no subject
[Nesso frowns, not that anyone can see it. But he's totally frowning right now guys. His voice shows it anyway.]
Perhaps the CereVice? See if anyone has the same trouble? Or knows how to put things right?]
no subject
We have to investigate, at least.
no subject
He can do that much.]
Then, asking others sounds like a place to start. Some have been here longer than us. Should I go out later, see if there's anything I can find out in the city...? It might be safest for me.
...Or Nesso. [Given he's invisible and intangible...]
