![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

Do I look like the type of person who makes baseless, fantastic claims? [Or for that matter, the type that allows his situation to get to his head and blind all rational thought?]
no subject
You look more like the type to be scared of ghosts, but you were fine in that haunted house. [ so, maybe not. he was serious.
that makes her question what he did see, then. ] Is that creature you met the reason you're... blind now?
no subject
[There are worse things than ghosts, Milla.]
no subject
but, well. the weirdness of this place will never cease to amaze her. creatures that make people blind? why? ]
And now you're out here, asking people what they've seen. [ reckless. muzét was a great spirit, and even then milla remembers the time it took to adjust to the lack of sight. here was edgeworth, walking around this city for the sake of information, by himself.
silly. ] It takes time to adjust to something like this, you know. You were lucky this time, but if you met that creature of yours again, it wouldn't have stopped at your sight.
[ this is her concern.... okay... ]
no subject
Still, Milla has a point. Edgeworth tenses, gripping his stick more tightly. Now he won't be able to see that creature coming.]
If it wanted to do something more, would it not have taken the opportunity right after robbing me of my sight?
no subject
[ HA HA haa… no, that's too grim and far too cynical of her; she doesn't honestly think he's going to be in danger from that monster of his, however, with the world darkness to him now there's far more danger than just that.
a little tactless, regardless. so she adds in: ]
Not that I don't see what you mean. I'm just saying… You should be more careful.
no subject
I will. There were no reports, as far as I know, of these ghosts coming back to torture their victims, at least.
no subject
but edgeworth's lucky he's blind. or, well, not lucky per se--milla just feels a certain inability to just walk away and leave him to his own devices, not with an ailment like that.
(not that she would anyway, but there's a bit of a personal feeling fighting away her tsundere tendencies.) ]
Ghosts aren't the only danger. [ honestly, he's probably the biggest threat to himself here. ] … If you want, I can help guide you around while you look for your information. I'm not doing anything else, so…
no subject
You are all right with this? [Still, she could be doing SO MANY OTHER THINGS INSTEAD OF GUIDING AROUND A BLIND MAN...]
no subject
If I wasn't, I wouldn't have offered.
[ … so many other things… like helping out edgeworth and pretending like this isn't a big deal, especially coming from someone like her. ]
It's just. What you find out might be helpful, and this way I don't have to wait for something you'll probably never tell me. That's all.
[ please, like she's… WORRIED!!! ]
no subject
[Whether she's worried or not, he doesn't dwell on that. Oh well, he has an assistant now!]
no subject
I'm not holding you by the hand or anything, just so you know. [ in case he was hoping for it… not that she'd think he was. not that he actually was. ] Was there anywhere you were headed to in particular?
no subject
Hmph. I never asked for anything of the sort. But I was headed toward the Entertainment District.
[Because of the number of people hanging around there and all.]
no subject
[ don't hmph her, edgeworth. milla really does resist the urge to sigh for being stuck in this situation--but, well, this was her own wish. her own complete incapability for ignoring her squishy inside.
so she pauses. looks at their surroundings. tries to remember where exactly they're headed, and-- ]
It's this way. [ she thinks. thinks. while she said she'd do no handholding, edgeworth will find contact on his upper arm, as milla grabs that gently. ]
no subject
[He allows her to take his arm and will turn to wherever she may lead him.]
