![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

Uh, isn't that arm supposed to move? Then again, Yata did not mention taking hold of the controls...]
Before you even touched the controls, is that correct?
no subject
Yeah! So it picks up this cat thing, right? Actually, I dunno what it is. It's like a cat, but it's shaped like sushi and the ears look kinda weird...
[ Yata. ]
no subject
...except maybe that one about the sushi cat. Edgeworth brushes that one aside and quickly asks:]
What happened next?

Did any of the other items...do anything strange?

[Yata probably threw Sushi Cat at the "on" switch accidentally. Still, the rest of what he's saying...]

B-b... Bl... Blood... all over...

Edgeworth's expression doesn't change; he doesn't flinch. Seeing blood and smelling it is all part of his job description.]
I assume this isn't a feature of the game.
no subject
Nah, it's one of those happy anime games, you know? Project... Idol... something. Anyway, it was fucked up, alright! Fuck... I think the game hung since the girl got stuck in the middle of a song. She sounded like she was screaming. It shook me up, man.
So I ran outta there, into the air hockey table and here I am.
no subject
I recall you mentioning that you broke the air hockey table. [An expression of disapproval. If you're going to run away from a blood-spattered girl in a video game instead of telling yourself that's not real and acting like a man, at least don't cause collateral damage.]
no subject
[ Immediately, as if he's used to saying this a thousand times over. ]
The girl went after me, s-so I tried to fight her...
[ And knowing Yata, he didn't just cause a small malfunction. ]
no subject
[a.k.a. HOW DID SHE GET OUT AND MAKE YOU BREAK THE AIR HOCKEY TABLE?]
no subject
You won't believe me, but... I think it's a ghost.
no subject
A ghost. Really? Really?]
A ghost? [Skepticism is dripping from his voice. His eyebrows arch.]

N...no.
[ The best witness, clearly. Edgeworth might want to investigate the game itself.
Just then, the holographic mascots flicker. You know, the ones that look like Vocaloids on display. Yata whimpers. ]
Hey, can we do this another time? I kinda wanna go home. [ HE'S A WUSS. ]
no subject
Surely a mere power malfunction isn't enough to frighten you.
no subject
I dunno, man. It wasn't like that this morning...
[ Then, eerie electropop music starts playing. It seems to be coming from the flashing rhythm game in the distance. ]
no subject
[His sentence is cut off when the creepy music starts playing, and he is genuinely surprised by this development. Still, he continues to hang on to logical explanations as he turns toward the direction of the music.]
Strange. Did someone switch that on?
no subject
[ It was clearly not on a while ago for some reason. A girl flashes on the screen—one similar to the same holographic displays nearby. Speaking of the displays, t seems like there's a few of them lining the path to the rhythm game showing the same girl. ]
no subject
Well, this girl is neither screaming nor bloodstained.
[AT LEAST, FOR NOW.]
no subject
Are you crazy? Get outta there!
[ The screen shows a close-up of the girl's face smiling sweetly at the viewer. All is fine and well until she starts crying... blood? The smile seems less genuine and more unhinged now that there are streams of red running down her face. The same thing is happening to all the girls in the displays. Yata can't watch; he looks away. ]
