![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

She jumps, startled by the sudden disembodied voice.]
Hic--
[...????]
--cup...?
[Wait where...is he.... she spins in a circle (Achaeus waits patiently, more interested in Toothless than Tana's confusion at the moment]
...Where are you, Hiccup?
no subject
Right. Invisible. Maybe we do need to remake the sign, bud.
[ which will prompt the artist of said wonderfully scribbly sign to give an exasperated exhale of air, though that annoyance is soon abandoned for mutual interest in winged horses. while hiccup would love to do the same, he probably had other things to explain.
as tana spins, she'll be getting this colorful commentary. ]
A little more. No, not yet, close, and-- [ when tana spins to face the floating cerevice with toothless's poorly drawn arrow, the voice will increase in volume ] There! Right there. In front of you.
[ floating cerevice, arrow pointing at NOTHING. ]
no subject
So the dragon and the pegasus are left to greet each other while Tana takes a cautious step forward, squinting...right through Hiccup.
Welp.]
You really are invisible...! Not that I doubted you, but it is...a little hard to believe, even seeing it with my own eyes...
[Or...not seeing it, as the case actually is.]
no subject
[ like, the worst trip ever. at least the dragon and the pegasus seem to be enjoying a moment of not invisible conversing, as toothless takes this opportunity to give achaeus a low sound of curiosity in greeting, before he shoves not!hiccup forward (lightly) so he can get closer to horse with... wings! ]
That felt about as weird as it probably does talking to air right now.
[ he was used to being invisible in the past, so it's not like it's entirely weird to be overlooked... awkwardly nostalgic in a bad way, maybe, but it's still different than being actually invisible. ]
no subject
Achaeus, at least, patiently watches this happen, and then begins sniffing idly at Hiccup's hair.]
Well, I can't deny that it is a little strange...but you are who you are, invisible or not, so it's good to-- [...see....] speak with you again!
no subject
[ hey, pegasus, buddy, that's dragon territory. and toothless will reenforce said territory by leaning forward and also sniffing hiccup's hair.
or maybe he's just curious as to what, exactly, horses are sniffing. ]
no subject
Well! I am glad that you're smiling.
Now, there must be a way to get you back to normal... we just have to find it!
no subject
That's what I'm stuck on. I was working on getting this guy [ imagine a gesture to not!hiccup, as it takes this opportunity to swat at the two sniffing at his… well, hiccup's, hair. ] somewhere he won't cause any trouble. Then Toothless could look after him while I figured something out.
Not… that I've got any ideas, just yet. Magic, maybe? People use that here. Some... advanced, future doctor?
no subject
Right...]
Magic is familiar in my world, but I'm not very knowledgeable about it... [That would probably be more helpful, huh, Tana.] Still, making sure your body is safe is definitely the first step! Achaeus and I will help!
no subject
so she's got magic at home too, huh. but first: ]
Well. There's no way he's getting away with a dragon, winged horse and princess keeping an eye on him. Here, this wa-- [ ah, wait. though the cerevice with the arrow could follow him pretty well with toothless leading, hiccup himself can't lead. invisibly.
so. ] --Uh, Toothless? Want to show 'em the way, bud?
[ this is where said dragon tilts his head, exhales, then begins the trek back to the apartment with a gesture of his head forward. ]
no subject
Tana blinks, and proceeds to follow Toothless then, shaking her head.]
How troublesome... I hope things like this don't happen often. Imagine how alarming, waking up and realizing you're invisible!
[...]
Er. I suppose you don't have to imagine it, after all.
no subject
No. No, I don't. I just hope you never have to not imagine it. [ a sigh. ] I mean, at least I can see you, so only one half of the conversation is awkward.
[ your half, tana. sorry. ]
But if we both couldn't see each other? That'd be a disaster.
no subject
Possibly even in the wrong direction.
[.......]
That would be a sad sight, I suppose.
no subject
[ …. bright sides! optimism! and relief that they don't have to go through those embarrassing, embarrassing situations. ]
And on another note, that reminds me not to tell you if you're facing the wrong way now.
[ he's just kidding. ]
no subject
Ah-- I'm sorry, that's very rude! Hiccup? Where are you truly?
no subject
tana. ]
Uh--no, you're fine, actually. It was just a joke and-- eyes in front of you, please, I can't make panicked hand gestures to whoever you're going to bump into while I'm invisible.
no subject
[right, okay, she's watching where she's going now, SORRY RANDOM CITIZEN.
... ... ...]
That was an unkind thing to do!
no subject
[ or maybe he should just apologize for that but… w o w, communication is hard when you're invisible. ]
Maybe I should just avoid that for now. It feels like giving up a part of myself, but goodbye, sarcasm.
[ he says, sarcastically. this is so hard. ]
no subject
And she tilts her head.]
... ... ...You are not very good at that, are you, Hiccup?
[At least she's smiling?]
no subject
but wow, that blunt statement. ]
Please, Tana. Respect for those that are trying here.
no subject
It is quite all right. You're simply a very humorous person! There isn't anything wrong with that.
