![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

If you're a little wary about meeting new people, that's usually a good way to do it, I think. Meeting friends of friends, and then their friends... [Making a "and so on" gesture.]

[ Oz, please, she's delicate. ]
no subject
Right, that's a good start. [hAH.] —Anyway! What kind of desserts do you like? I can tell you all about the ones in the shop we're visiting.

no subject
Oh! In that case, this place will suit you just fine. Even really picky people like it.
no subject
[ at least she looks a great deal more enthusiastic about this than she'd looked for pretzels. ]
no subject
I think it is, anyway. They have tarts and pies and these little things that look like lollipops but they're actually small cakes! [THE PAST IS MISSING OUT ON SO MUCH.]
no subject
[ well, that sounds appealing. ]
no subject
They're really convenient and very sweet. [Probably because they're mixed with frosting and then frosted again... Basically all the sugar that people like Oz really don't need at all.]

I'll ask Gil! He knows how to make a lot of desserts, so I'm sure he could figure it out.
[VOLUNTEERS HIM FOR SHIT AT RANDOM.]

no subject
That's the one! You should come over the next time he's baking.
[Twice as many people pestering him in the kitchen!!]

[AND UP AHEAD the sweets shop is coming into view! Even without being able to see the sign, she'll probably be able to tell which building it is...]

It really is cute, isn't it? Wait until you see the inside!
[AND AWAY toward the door to open it for his compatriot. The interior is very much corner store sweets shop-y, with most of the candy in glass display jars and most of the pastries behind a case near the register. There's a seating area near the sides, lots of big open windows and an atmosphere that's generally light and pleasant.]

[ and she's bouncing in, making a beeline for the candy jars and jabbing a finger at everything much too excitedly. ] Oz, look at all the colors!
no subject
It's nice, right? They change their displays twice a week, too! [FOLLOWING. As he goes, he'll point to various jars and displays.]
I've had that one before and it's the softest cookie you'll ever eat. Oh— these ones are nice, too! And those strawberry candies taste just like fresh strawberries.
no subject
[ SHE IS SO FASCINATED. ]
no subject
Try a piece!
no subject
...
[ this may have just blown her mind. ]
no subject
BUT!! Watching expectantly, and that reaction is pretty much what had been expected. ULTIMATE SUCCESS.]
Isn't it good? It's the best strawberry candy I've had. Their other candies taste just like fruits too, but the strawberry one is my favorite!
[That's why he practically lives here......]
no subject
[ strawberry had disappointed her a lot of the time... ]
no subject
A lot of the strawberry things that I first tried here had a really weird aftertaste. Was it the same for you?
