![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

But he's no fool, at least not a complete fool, and he gets that he's not as fine as he says. So when they finally reach home and he gets him inside he makes him sit down on a chair by the kitchen table to fetch him a glass of water. ]
Here.

He'd rather just crawl under his bed sheets but he can manage pulling his legs to his chest and lean his chin against his knees. He accepts the glass, but doesn't drink from it yet, just letting it perch on one of his knees with his fingers as support. ]
Thanks.

How long has it. Been since you last. Slept? And have you gotten. Enough vitamin A?
no subject
I slept this morning. And I think so. Everything was completely normal before, it just sort of came like a punch in the face or something.
[ He's been punched in the face plenty, okay? ]

It can't be. Diabetic because you can't. Feel effects from that when you're. Dead... Have you gotten anything. In your eye. Recently? Any pain?
[ When the flashlight doesn't give any reaction to either of his eyes he puts it down to inspect his eyeballs and around them for any inflammations or other things. ]
no subject
I'm not diabetic in the first place, I think. No, I haven't.
[ He twitches a little bit. That feels unpleasant. But he'll manage. ]
no subject
Trachoma? Onchocerciasis? Leprosy?
[ Sorry. But he really needs to look into it properly. ]
PAD? It can be caused by. Smoking.
no subject
I doubt it'd just kick in like this, though.
[ Seriously, he's no medic here, you're losing him. ]
no subject
[ Considering they're already dead and all, the only thing that should be able to make him blind is some sort of spirit energy. Because it's not like anyone has cut his eyes out of his head. ]
I'll... Take you to. Bed. Here.
[ He takes Hokuto by the hand. ]
no subject
Yeah.
[ He takes the glass in his free hand, downs it, and finds a surface to put it on before he lets go of it. Not until after that's done, he gets back to his feet. ]
no subject
So instead he just leads Hokuto to bed... belatedly realizing it's his own bed, not Hokuto's. And he realizes this only after he's had the man sit down on it. ]
O-oh.
[ He was just on auto-pilot. When he's going to a bed it's always been this one after getting here. ]
no subject
What?
no subject
I, u-um, I mean... No-nothing.
no subject
You sure?
[ It doesn't really sound like "nothing" to him. ]
no subject
I, I t-took y-you t-t-o. To the wro-wrong bed.
[ He's so embarrassed he thinks he would have died of shame had he not already been dead. ]
no subject
Oh, is that it?
[ He'll just get to his feet and find his own bed, then. There aren't that many stuff between them, so he only stumbles a little. ]
no subject
S-sorry!
no subject
It's fine.
[ His voice is muffled by the pillow. ]
no subject
So he rolls him over to the best of his abilities (moving patients is a thing he does once in a while), and tugs the blankets out from underneath him to tuck him in properly. ]
G-good night.
no subject
He pulls his pillow over his face. It makes him feel a little better, like the darkness is caused by the pillow, and not by whatever is going on with his eyes. ]
'night.
