![]() You were always warned about the little things that go bump in the night, but you didn't believe them, did you? After all, ghosts don't exist, and things aren't really out to get you in the dark. As the month draws nearer to its final days, however, you're going to want to double check that belief of yours. On the eve of the 20th, continuing on, you'll feel the signs. It'll begin with a flicker, something barely noticeable. Conveniently, that day, the cinemas will start showing some creepy movies (maybe you'll have seen similar ones back home, or have you?) and you can access Ceres' TV stations- amazing show and movie line-up on their devices or TV screen. All seems to be normal, really... except for the weather that seems somewhat chilly and dismal throughout, with chances of storms every now and then. 'tis the season to be spooky, after all. It's just the weather being weird... Until you get the feeling that something is in your house... and you sure as heck didn't invite it in. How will you know? Well, you might hear it, whispering in your ear, or maybe see it as just appearing as part of that movie, or on a Holo-screen you're walking by, and disappearing as quickly as you hear or see it...

Hmm, he remembers seeing a bench or whatever somewhere, back when he could still see and was always popping up here to train...but his sense of direction is so messed up right now. Edgeworth isn't sure how he could signal to Sousei that HEY UH WHERE CAN I SIT AND HAVE A PROPER BREAK, STILL CAN'T SEE...]
no subject
This way. There is a doorway, and we will be taking the first right, immediately after. I will be walking right in front of you.
[So hopefully you can follow his footsteps, because that's all the direction you're getting so far.]
no subject
...hot tea would be AMAZING.
He doesn't say anything - again, because Sousei wouldn't hear it anyway - and instead follows his footsteps when they begin, trying to keep a proper pace so he doesn't slam into Sousei's back or veer off course.]
no subject
But yes, keep on doing your best, Edgeworth, because Sousei isn't giving any more clues. At least the doors stay open... and thankfully, it isn't far. His original instructions were rather precise to the layout of the building, and when he has reached where he intended to go--]
Stop. We will stay here. Find yourself a seat.
[at the table...which is more western than he would like, but he'll accept and deal with it.]
I will be back in a moment.
no subject
There's really not much else he can do except nod, and wait, and contemplate how small and dark his world is right now.]
no subject
It's hard to have a conversation this way, but...it is what it is.]
There.
You did decently with the basics, though you grew overconfident towards the end. [never let it be said he isn't bluntly honest...]
no subject
This time, instead of simply nodding, he digs for his CereVice, which was in his vest pocket all this time, and speaks his message. The message is translated into text, which Sousei can read. Likewise, Sousei can read the expression of acquiescence on Edgeworth's face; he does know he became too confident.]
I must admit that I did. I apologize.
no subject
But at least they can have a proper conversation this way.]
There is no need for apologies. Simply focus on amending the problem in the future.
[He's got pretty solid priorities, honestly, and "if there's a problem, fix it" is his general state of mind. Edgeworth is clearly aware of himself, so that's a positive.
A pause, which Sousei fills with sipping his tea. Should he offer to keep on helping...? It's strange for him; he never really took on students before Soramaru burst in demanding that he did--but it wasn't terrible, teaching people how to properly handle the sword.]
no subject
I will. If your schedule allows for it, I'd like to try again tomorrow. There's no telling what will happen while I'm blind.
[After setting his CereVice down and letting Sousei read the message, Edgeworth slowly reached out for where he thought his cup of tea was in his mental map...missing it so that his fingers brushed against the side. Frowning in slight annoyance, he picks it up and takes a sip.]
no subject
He misses the Yamainu--it strikes him at the strangest of times, but usually he would be practicing and honing his skills with his squad, not with the strange acquaintances he has made here. Still... they are not here, and that is the reality of the thing.
There's no point in dwelling.]
Very well then. That is fine with me. [For now, he'll keep teaching Edgeworth. After all...what could it hurt?
He certainly isn't going to comment on that slip-up. This week is hard on all of them.]
Do you presume this will be temporary?
no subject
Yes, if this is anything like the other incidents that have occurred.
[Then he proceeds to pick up his cup carefully again, after a little bit of groping in the dark.]
no subject
The other incidents didn't involve bodily harm though.]
... If they are capable of fixing such things at will, I am concerned for what else they are capable of.
