What: Vietnam and Ai Thao decide to welcome new and old alike to the colony by making and distributing delicious foods from their country.
Rating/Warning: Food, food, and more food (and cheesy Vietnamese music?)

[The Sanctuary, being a CERES-free zone, is the first place Ai and Vietnam thought of in order to host this party. It's taken them all day and Ai was also part of the ViViD session before going to help Vietnam, so now it's quite late at night. After a long and most likely tiresome session of ViViD, anyone who's on their way back to their living quarters may notice a tantalizing aroma wafting from the Sanctuary; it's a combination of savory, meaty scents, plus... coffee? The lighting is strange too as if it's too bright, but too dim at the same time. Also this weird music is playing.

Go inside, and you'll see cooking equipment set up with Vietnam at the ready while Ai scurries about, setting up proper seating with utensils and napkins (weird, a lot of those aforementioned items are floating in the air and moving about on their own since Ai's hands are full). What's on the menu you ask? The handy sandwich board sign set up near the entrance tells you:]

[Ai is the one who pauses to greet anyone coming inside, newbies and regulars of Cerealia alike.]

Welcome! Please, help yourself! There's no charge and plenty to go around!

Thank you for coming! I'm glad you could make it!

[ SHE IS KIND OF RUINING EVERYTHING... why this!!! in fact, it got so ruined that yata backs away on the couch until his back starts to hurt. ]

I- Uh... s- sure! No problem!

[ he tries to smile, but it's so awkward for him that he probably looks like a creep. ]

You, uh, you can make things fly?

[Yata you're so weird!! Coming from the psychic weirdo right here...]

Oh, yes. I'm an esper! Telekinesis is one of my abilities.

[ shit, that is so cool. why can't yata be an esper? ]

D- Do you need help with stuff?

[ BECAUSE HE WILL HELP... and make things even more awkward, god why. why does he do this to himself? ]

That's alright! I wouldn't want you to push yourself.

[Especially if he has this much trouble around girls... is what Ai is thinking, but she won't say it aloud to avoid more awkward. Plenty of that to go around in the future anyways.]

Actually, we never introduced ourselves did we?

I, uh, I'm Ya— [ she probably already knows his name from the dumb thing hovering over his head yesterday, so is there a need to introduce himself, still? what's more important is an apology. ] SORRY FOR RUNNING OFF THE OTHER DAY!

[ oh, whoops. . . way too loud, yata. way too loud. ]

[Good point, although Ai's more concerned with his outburst, blinking in return.]

[ he scratches the back of his head as he looks away, cheeks flushing red. ]

I guess it seems weird, having dinner after a major ViViD session and after that presentation they gave you...

[The really boring, yet sobering PowerPoint about the state of their worlds and entire beings and such. You know.]

I hope my friend and I can at least give people the chance to relax and gather their thoughts, regardless.

That stuff in the powerpoint. . . [ his tone is suddenly serious. ] that shit's not true, right?

So nobody's really sure about it, huh?

There's been more than a few attempts to find what CERES truly wants from us or what they're hiding, but the results tend to be pretty frustrating. I went on a tour through one of their buildings once and it was harrowing.

Why?

[ it's just a tour, right? ]

What happened?

Well... It felt like one was in a haunted building rather than a place where people worked. The group and I talked with some of the office workers on one floor and then they disappeared a few minutes later.

In another room we encountered a large monster, but we didn't want to get into a confrontation with that thing.

Haunted building— [ he shakes his head immediately. ] The hell?

We don't always have it easy here, let me tell you...

I heard about the monsters and shit.

Among other things.

There was a huge flood not too long ago and it wrecked the city. You wouldn't know it though because it was repaired not too long after, but that was while we were stuck in the jungle.

[ jungle... there's a word yata hates. . . and anybody can tell by how he's seething right now.

but wait - she probably means the actual jungle and not the shitheads that are trying to destroy the world and just be annoying pricks of nature. ]

Uh... why were you stuck in the jungle?

The best way I can describe it was being spirited away... As for why, the reason is kind of beyond me to be honest.

[She's sure other people have better ideas about the reasons other than it being a "reward."]
