[At some point during Zoro's visit, Kashuu will finally mosey by! He's got his CereVice in one hand, but he's not doing anything important (except browsing through CERES' version of instagram is totally important) so he'll definitely stop to greet this familiar punk with a grin.]

—Oh, hey! It's been a while, huh?

[Since he's seen Zoro in the apartment proper, that is! He's not counting the dojo...]

The machines here are a nuisance, [Koumei muttered in reply, pushing his disheveled hair out of his face so he could get a better glimpse at the shadowy, looming stranger who had come in to assist.] They make noise even if they are shut off, and the electric readings are hard to understand.

[It was a culture shock-- and a frustration that he didn't really want to be managing when he wasn't even fully certain if he was supposed to be alive or not.]

Its the same for me, although taking civilian employment may be a necessary task just to gain information and resources.

[At least teahouses were known to be spots where people frequented to have serious discourse. Even if civilian work would be a new experience for him, he honestly couldn't think of a better place to start.]

A majority of the people here are the spirits of Japanese swords! Nakigitsune here is one of them. [he points his snout at Naki as he says this.]

Then we have our master, of course...and a few other spirits, and Kashuu-san and Yamatonokami-san's master, and...ah, I believe we gained two more residents recently, as well.

I assure you that everyone is friendly though! Despite how rowdy they may get on occasion.

[he did get the warning from the little fox but still, holy shit man. Twenty? No wonder he can hear people moving around so much.]

[he closes his eyes in a clear expression of impatience. Not for Koumei, just for this world and its conventions]

Sorry I haven't been by the dojo in a couple of days, I've been focusing on other kinds of training. [shh totally didn't get thrashed by Illidan]

'Pillow tester' and 'Trap Designer' were offered alongside the Teahouse work. The first is tempting when sleep is a luxury. The second is unnecessary.

[He shrugged.]

[nope still can't believe that. But he's not going to call anyone a liar until he's puzzled it all out for himself. After all, he's standing in front of a talking fox...]

And sword masters. I wonder if they might know anyone I've met.

[he can't help but snort at that]

An instructor, presumably in martial arts, and something regarding anger management. I have no interest in leading anyone by the hand, whether in swordsmanship or in controlling their emotions. I believe I may have to seek my own way.

[ With the extra set of cookies laid on the plate, he takes them happily as he leans forward to read what's written to him. ]

Oh, that's a pretty word? Side.. o..up.. smiley up oh.. side.. Huh? What does that mean? Is that a new language, will you teach me? [ Well, she's talking about food which is the magic word so he has to get in on this. ] I try to cook sometimes myself but it isn't everyone's personal favorite. [ Either it's too strong or too much at one time. ]

Do you have any cooking tips?

Not bad, not bad! And that's fine. We've kinda had to cut back a little on our heavy duty sparring matches anyway.

[Because they're going to run out of resources otherwise, lord...]

There is no shame in that approach-- and I wish you luck in the endeavor. This city must have a law enforcement agency...a job like that would be more appropriate for a military man like yourself.

Frankly, I've never made it myself. But the ingredients seem simple enough to make something similar...

[He started looking through the cupboards for a jar of honey and another container of turmeric. A plastic bottle was found instead...and turmeric was not a common spice in general, so not finding another container was unsurprising.]

Milk and honey will have to suffice for now. I'll need to visit the market tomorrow to replace the rest.

['Currently.' How curious.

Stepping through the door easily, Koumei toed his shoes off to leave at the entrance way and avoid getting dirt through the rest of the house.]

I'm Ren Koumei. Thanks for letting me in. [He looked around the apartment, taking in the surroundings.] Where should I put this, Sir Horikawa?

Well, if that's the case...

[He's going to crouch down closer to their level and reach out a hand to scratch Robofox behind the ears, if he's allowed.]

Reaching up to rub the back of his head uneasily, he cast a look around at the remains of the mess instead of Kashuu.]

Honestly, I was guessing from the start. I never learned the measurements-- typically I don't visit the kitchens.

[It was partly because he was too busy to, but also partly because he didn't think to eat half of the time.]

The rest of the spice ended up in the air, huh?

[Happily it's at least breathable now, which is nice because it's hard to heat up milk if you're bent over and wheezing. He gives the pot a speculative look, and then brightens up.]

Well, if you keep an eye on the milk, I could just go borrow what's needed from the kitchen in the other flat. [A small, slightly teasing smile.] I promise this one doesn't actually blow up or anything. The worst you can do is burn yourself. [How comforting.]

Oh? Wearing yourselves out a little too fast?

At least there's enough people around who are a little more low-key, you can take it easy on them.

[Hey, we may be overly accepting of strangers, but stranger status is still a thing! Overly polite fox has rules he's gotta follow.]

Aahh, we've been here....a few months, I think? It was somewhere around early winter when we first arrived. [It's hard to get used to actually paying attention to time when you've been largely ignoring it for nine centuries.

Meanwhile, Naki has now taken robofox off his head and into his arms. While staring curiously at Kon.]

[Despite the pause, the cute face she uses in her next text definitely brightens his expression, offering up a friendly grin while he proceeds to take his time picking which sweet to try first. When he finally decides on the cookie, even on just the first bite he seems not to regret it. Slowly but surely as he nibbles through, he taps at his screen before turning it to show her.]

Aah, they really are good!

[And once that's been typed, the cookie is all but finished. Next up: he reaches to sample a piece of the shortbread]

THIS BUM, THOUGH... Kashuu gives him A Look™, but he can't judge too hard, honestly, considering he couldn't eat until about a year ago.]

Then I guess we'll just have to do our best to guess. The turmeric probably wasn't a super strong flavor in it, right? How sweet was it?

Of course, and anywhere should be fine! Maybe the kitchen...

[Spoken more like a musing than anything else, but Horikawa shuts the door behind them and trots along to catch up once he has. The formality is curious, but maybe it explains why someone as eccentric as Mutsunokami is being referred to like that if it's just in his nature to be so polite in general? There's a bit of curiosity, but he has to return his manners first, of course!]

Would you like some tea? I'm sure we have something that would be to your tastes. [Either way he'll set the water to boil, just in case.]

[can't believe a talking fox telling him about spirits.....well, Naki's not gonna judge. He does tilt his head questioningly at that comment, though.]
